Toronto Maple Leafs add Lane Lambert to coaching staff, Stanley Cup Final fantasy draft

The Toronto Maple Leafs have finally made the Lane Lambert addition to the coaching staff final and we decide to play some fantasy hockey for the Stanley Cup Final. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti break down the news we were waiting for as Lane Lambert will join the team as the associate coach so the guys decide to do a deeper dive into his history and what his experience should provide for Toronto. Islander Fan <--- Trotz left because he wanted to spend more time with his dad and he also wanted to GM, not coach, so Lou was like, "you know what? |Just go - we're still paying you - go be with your dad", so Lane took over...no problem. Lambert is not a bad coach. He has a temper..the problem is there was NO buy-in from the Isles. It had nothing to do with him. He will scare the pants off of the Leafs...he won't tell you to do shit..he will just yell at you and you have to take it! I have a theory that Berube will use Lambert in a Good Cop Bad Cop scenario where Berube is the GOOD Cop. Trotz did the same thing. Lambert is a real great Bad Cop.

You can put Scotty Bowman in a gurney behind the bench, it's not going to bring us a different result in the playoffs, we have a bottom tier defense and no goalie. Joseph Woll is a good goalie when he's not in the infirmary. Every time he plays, he's gotten hurt. We don't have a bonafide no.1. If we can get 2 top defensemen and a no.1 goalie we could be in business. It's June and we have neither, we're actually looking at a weaker team come September unless Treliving has the solution. I highly doubt it. Does that sound pessimistic? Of course it is but we can see how inept our management has been in the way they have built this team...the only dmen who came up through our system are Rielly and Liligren. Wrap that around your head and tell me why the scouting in the leafs organization has always been lacking in drafting defensemen, we're the richest team in hockey, we could have a pro scout following every team on planet earth and all we have to show are 2 half ass smallish, offensive dmen?!?! What a shame. And it's been like this forever...Salming was a fluke, he was not even on their radar. Richest team in hockey. Lol.
