@@CajonMaster I haven’t played in months. Other things going on. Just started again and found out the cajon really works well for American blues. Pretty simple patterns for beginners.

I just had something interesting happen. I put my phone on video and put it BEHIND my cajon. The audio has much less snare noise on the bass notes than what I hear while I’m playing. 🤷♂️
There is something unbelievably special about artisan-made products. Even with the machines, it takes so much work to get the right wood and a steady hand to keep it from falling apart. Traditions like these are passed down through the centuries and hopefully for many more to come.

One note though, I hope Pepote and his crew normally wear masks. A build-up of wood dust both crude and fine is not good for the lungs. 🙂

Wow I have been waiting to watch this since you posted it, just needed the time. And it was well worth the wait, what an incredible video and well made. It was great to watch and I have learnt a LOT. For a comparison and please…no disrespect to you or this video, have you seen on RUclips how a Kopf Cajon is made? How Kopf selects their SOLID 3/4” thick natural woods? How Kopf uses a finger joint to clamp and glue the 3/4” solid pieces together? How Kopf vacuum seals and sandwiches their Tapa face plate? All of this makes their Cajon sound deeper, richer, warmer with a fantastic response! I would check Kopf Percussion out!

Great video. I hope the maestro does wear protective gear when he isn’t showing you how to do it. All that fine sanding dust and aerosols can’t be good for your lungs.
