    I hadn't thought about the pocket clip orientation since I normally pocket carry my light in my left pocket. The arkfield pro has been my go to for work, love that light.

    i use my arkflex in an automotive workshop environment and i find it amazing personally.
    1. It has a better Button for getting grimy compared to Arkfeld.
    2. Because it doesnt focus a tight beam, but gets bright enough it makes working around cars or metal racks real nice. I never have to fiddle with the head because again, no tight beam.
    3. The UI is nice for work since I can skip Moonlight/Low and get right into Turbo/Memory High.
    I charge mine once a week, and use it multiple times a day for about 5 - 15 minutes at a time, either in hand or mounted to a piece of metal.
    If your paying full Olight price your doing it wrong imo, Olights are constantly on sale, I got mine direct from them for under 60 using Xmas sale and coupons.

      Yeah definitely need to buy Olight during sales. Picked up the Arkflex as part of a bundle for $48 alongside the new Seeker 4 throw light for $66. It's been incredibly worthwhile to check in with olight often just because you can get free stuff just for logging in during those monthly sales.
      I haven't carried my Arkflex very often yet... but when I have it's been on my off-hand pocket emitter down since my Right-hand pocket has my knife clipped to it. I honestly didn't notice about the button as it works perfectly for Left-handed manipulation. It may just be me... but I've always used my "weaker" left hand to illuminate while I manipulate objects with my main hand. This might have been what olight had in mind when they were setting up the light. The one time I've use the light to illuminate at an angle while the light was magnetically attached, I don't recall having any issue setting the angle with my thumb before attaching the light. That's just my very limited experience though.
      I am a little methodical about checking out my new gear though and tend to sit and play with it for hours when I first get it... just getting a feel for how it manipulates with both hands... so when it comes time to use it for something important I'm not fumbling with it.

    Great point about the pocket clip. It should definitely have been turned around like the Arkfeld UV and Pro.
    I'm hoping they come out with an Arkflex pro with all the functionality of the Arkfeld pro (UV, and laser, and 1300lm, and slightly bigger battery, and the Arkfeld pro switch and UI) AND the flex head. That would be damn near the perfect EDC light imo. And i wish they would add a USB C port along with their proprietary charger but that's probably a pipe dream.

    I have had the Arkflex for work the last month and I really like it. It’s a nice beam pattern for close up work and it sits on my hat nicely. I can tilt it in the direction of what I am working on.

  • @clap5
    @clap5 Месяц назад

    You can use it on the brim of a hat and basically use it as a head lamp. With the swivel feature you can use it to mount on a hat and read.

    I passed on this one this month. It wasnt 80 dollars. I do agree with you. Something told me to wait for the 2nd version which we all know will probably be here before spring. I do however love my perun 2 mini. The 90° is very usefull. I own an arkfeld and enjoy it as well. Mechanics would be well served with the o clip. Much more versatile than this. Very useful. Totally underrated.

    I have the original laser, UV, and now several Arkfeld pros.
    I have one of those on me at all times, mostly a pro.
    That said, I have an orange Arkflex because:
    A) It's orange 😂
    B) I bought it on sale with a free coupon so $39.12 shipped
    I can't find a place for it, I did carry it once. It almost matches the color of my car so I may let it become a dedicated car light. I agree with a pass on $80 but remember no one pays full price for Olight.

    I have the Arkfeld Gen 1 LED/laser along with the UV, they're OK. I do tend to prefer the Streamlight Wedge over both, even despite the fact that the Wedge doesn't have a low or moonlight mode option. I definitely will wait to see if what an Arkflex generation 2 will offer before taking the plunge.. As for the clip, I'm a south paw so that's a plus.. Lights with fixed pocket clips are like Emerson knives. You either dig them or you don't.. Regardless, your mileage may vary...

    Nice comparison and review. I love the WT25R, too. Just wish it had a dual position clip so that way i can illuminate the ground when it's clipped to the outside of my pants/belt.
    That being said, the Arkflex's tighter hinge and more of a flood than a spot beam is a preference to me because the entire area is better lit up, rather than a smaller hotspot. Of course, that sacrifices throw as the Fenix can throw much further.
    Just my opinion though

    I think you said it before that if the Streamlight Wedge had a magnet it would be better than the Arkfeld. I couldn’t agree more. It would be perfect for me.

    I thought the same about the stupid arrows😂. It’s almost as bad as the white line at the very bottom of the screen on an apple iPad for instance. After you learn the very first day you get your first iPad or whatever and you learn that to leave the app you swipe up from the bottom why do you still need that stupid white line at the bottom of the screen? It’s ridiculous. In that case they might as well put a white line on the side, so you know where to swipe in if you want to do slide over. And they should also put one at the top of the screen so that you know how to do some of the other stuff. And while we’re at it, why don’t you put a little arrow at each corner one for if you want to take a screenshot and the other one if you wanna pull up the Notes app really quick to do a quick note. It’s just kind ofsilly so I completely agree

    Awesome review! I appreciate the comparisons you offer.
    I'm a site based trim carpenter. I've been carrying the Arkflex for the last week and have come to very much appreciate the swivel head. For me this is very much a work light. My EDC Tier 1 carry is a RovyVon E8. You're spot on about the clip being upside down, I'd also like to see a magnet on the clip like the RovyVon A8. Personally I like the stiffness of the swivel; it stays put!

    Not into bendable lights, lights with zoom functions, nor any light design that compromises its waterproof integrity. Flashlights should be waterproof, shockproof, heat resistant, pocket sized, LED and rechargeable. Bottom line, first it has to be dependable in the most austere weather conditions.

    I think you're "ease of use" issues are way too nitpicky. I got one to replace an old S1R Baton II as an EDC. I don't need no crazy 5,000 lumens as a EDC light. 600 lumens on medium is perfectly adequate for me. It rides in my pocket undetectable. I don't mind the clip. I can pull it out and I'm not freaking out over rotating it to use my thumb, or just using my index finger. I like the tight hinge. I like that it stays where you put it. I'm not getting my panties in a wad over not being able to move it one handed. Truth be told, the S1R has not failed me in 6 years. Turbo mode only works for like 1 second, so the battery could use a refresh. I left it in a customer's wiring closet doing maintenance. Instead of going back to get it, I decided to just look for something new. The Arkflex is just what I was looking for in an EDC.

    • @MarineX
      @MarineX  2 месяца назад

      That’s fair. For me the one finger and hand use is very important. Especially compared to the fenix lights.
