"Child, failure, old, and dead" fucking hell Dylan, you didn't need to summarise my life in 5 words so brutally.
I heard that and instantly thought "tatoo.......hmmm...."

Dylan Moran, your comedy is incredible!

This man is everything brilliant about comedy- he pokes fun at reality, reframes it and leaves you happier and wiser than he found you. Just brilliant
One of a kind with Bill Bailey and Eddie Izzard...

"If you clap, I'll forget stuff" that might be the best thing I've ever heard in a comedy show
Lol yeah😄Telling your audience to stop clapping and laughing, and getting a laugh from it 😁
And the laughing also you can bring that down a bit too. The whole stand up was gold
Dylan is awesome.
A number of comedians like Dara O’Brien, Sean Lock, Bill Bailey etc etc have all rated him in their top three, and also as a Comedian they don’t want to follow on Stage. I’ve heard numerous Comedians say if they are doing a charity gig, they don’t want to follow Dylan or Lee Evans because “you have no chance of getting the room back” Ed Byrne said, quote, “You could go on stage after Dylan Moran or Lee Evans and do your but for ten minutes and they’re still laughing they don’t not notice you”

Everytime i see Dylan i just think....we need another series like Black Books.
Such a show, just madness
@@OllieMawLe It's pure gold.
@ "You have to understand that it is impossible. Dylan grew it over years ago, and you are still stuck." What are you talking about? This response has nothing to do with my original comment. I think Mr Moran has some of the best lines ever ; he's very philosophical in a dark, funny and pesssimistic/realistic way

"We had religion, the thing that makes you feel bad from the moment you're awake." 8:43
A true comedic genius, love everything he has ever done. I just hope he is truly happy with himself behind the facade of angst and self loathing. He deserves to be. Live long and happily Dylan, we need you .
Idk if it's a facade per se. A lot of comedians work comes from a dark place and they joke about their worries, struggles and mental health issues because it's venting and it earns smiles and laughs.
@@YosiahW he actually may have a bit of depression...
aww....thats nicely said. i hope Dylan reads it.

You guys have fascinating phrases. I don't get a lot of the cultural references, but it's still funny.
@@YosiahW English is my second language, but I know it pretty well. It's got such a wide variety of words and phrases and I just made those up. You need to really have a feel for the right words though. And the right mindset. That's culturally inclined. For me, I like Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc. movies. And I love the poetic language. But that is difficult for me to follow sometimes. Figures of speech. I like to make my own. For others to have a picture beside the words. I think it's symbols that differ more than language itself. Good night!

Doesn't anyone feel sad watching this? Yes, it is comedy, but this is really personal. And sad, in the way I think I just want him to fell a tiny bit better.
i relate too much for it to be sad. truly comforting to know i'm not entirely insane
There is a wonderful catharsis in letting others laugh when you can't laugh yourself. I've been there myself.
There are brief moments when he holds back his own laughter. It's not sad and bitter, but it is self-deprecating humour. Anyway, middle age does creep up on you like that. And so does the fat! :D
"Child, failure, old and dead." Ouch...but funny.
Now i know where i recognize Dylan, he was David in "Shaun of the dead"
He was good in black books too, I think that's what it was called anyway? 🤔
@@jamiepurnell307 yeah he was great. Bill Bailey was awesome
Jamie Purnell yes black books, my role model in my 20’s
Brilliant programme, it's a shame they didn't make too many..
The cast list for Shaun of The Dead reads like a guest list for one of those parties that only the cool people get invited to. So many great British actors.
@Jamie Purnell, one or two more seasons would have been good, but no more than that. There's nothing worse than watching a once-brilliant sitcom outlive its use-by date and end up having to rely on running gags or "topical" humour to try and get laughs. Black Books was short and sweet, 3 seasons, perfect length to binge-watch in an evening. :)
Dylan Moran is absolutely brilliant observational comedy. He’s so real & relatable in the funniest , best way, and you come away feeling relieved and happy...
At the moment he said 'eating a swiss roll' I was actually eating the second of three slices of a swiss roll. Does that count ?

Even Graham Linehan learned of the importance of Dylan's fast paced, in depth, quirky mirth about general life and the aul preconsious mind that Dylan delivers with ease. Graham only realised, after Black Books was released that Dylan's kind of comedic style was gold. Two Irish comedy legends!!!
So much of this is relevant here to this 50 year old Aussie single mum trying to find joy in 2021 amidst the lockdowns.
Started watching Black Books and loving it. Dylan is so clever ❤
That show has my favourite insult of all time, "you know what you are? You're a beard with an idiot hanging off of it"

You can always tell when Jimmy Carr is in the crowd lol
Other people do laugh like that, but I agree it's quite distinctive, plus it's Dylan Moran, there has to be a bunch of celebs in the audience.
DM's view on potential: "Don't use it, you'll waste it"
It’s potential! Leave it alone!
He used to seem so dark.
Until the world went black.
Who wouldn't buy a game called Candy Flaps?
You know i look at some comedians and wish they were my personal freinds and companions, but i look at him and wish he was the voice in my head.
Dylan Moran like listening to a drunk poet with a midlife crisis. It's hilarious but also surprisingly wholesome.
I believe I have discovered the long lost Irish Robin Williams. Seriously lol. Look for Robin Williams in the 80’s and 90’s stand up routines. A good example is Robin Williams at the Met. The main difference is Robin enjoyed coke and Dylan is more of a whiskey man lol
But they both have that random train of thought thing going for them lol
I feel Dylan is the type of comedian that makes you think deeply. If you don't your missing out lol
Jimmy Carr must be there. Listen for the laugh!
8:12-4 :P
Yeah he is
Once you hear it...
beeutiffle he has to be!! I’m watching this out of context, but no one else has that laugh, surely!! 😂
Good ear!
10:00 makes me think of serious existential crisis like when my own parents are telling me I need to go and have a life instead of 'wasting it on my phone'. Now both of them have ipads and use them while they sit in front of the TV. They don't even watch the TV, they just kind of put it on out of habit and then start reading social media or browse to their favourite websites. The funny thing is that now they are super connected to extended family who live in other states, countries, etc that they might normally only talk to once or twice a year. It's been way better for them to keep in contact with friends and family because now they can share pictures, video, and ask questions. Last year my dad was cutting stuff out of the newspaper and mailing it to me in the post in case I was interested.
It's not just the humor which is wonderful, it's the unique style. It's so wonderful to find a comedian who has a voice unlike all the others.
His musings remind me a lot of Dave Allan’s comedy. 💕
Love them both 🤗💕
He was one of DMs inspirations.
That makes sense. :)
Dylan, you are talking about nothing good being on TV, so make another series of black books! please :)

he quit smoking thats it.
He said it was a choice between smoking or breathing. He chose breathing.
