Having Võro, Seto, and Estonian ancestry in me, this video speaks to me on the most intimate level.
I am not Uralic, but I love your video, you mention some groups I have not heard about before. Protect your cultures ❤
0:16 All the songs for the rest of the groups sound so atmospheric & the song for Swedish Finns sounds like a British pop song, like All Saints or something. Same thing goes for the song you used for Marians.
3:53 That Mansi Song are Listened Alike Polish Late 1990s Soft-Pop 😂
Аттьӧ!!! (Thank you a lot for including komi-permiaks)❤
Керӧй кывнытӧ ловъяӧн! (Keep your language alive!)
Я карел, и меня забавляет то, что когда показывают вепсов то на фоне играет русская песня про Карелию на карельском языке. И, кажется, на фоне моя деревня.
ну так вепсы и живут компактно на юге карелии, ничего удивительного

This was good, this was good for the soul. Released on my isoisä's birthday. Top tier
Always amazed me how people can live in lands so far away from the rest of civilization
very interesting and beautiful
As an Uralic speaking person, I very much see myself as part of the civilized world. I'm a native European.
All these places look so beautiful
Oh, no one remembers the tribes of Merya, Meshchera and Muroma, even those people who are their descendants
I only used current existing languages
Голядь ещё
@@hilmust6278 Meshchera exists, just as sub-ethnos of Volga Tatars, Turkic people. We switched to Tatar language, culture, Islamic religion centuries ago, but the people, genes and distinct self-identity never disappeared.
Other half of Meshchera, who were assimilated by Russians, not Tatars, they lost their roots
@mrobocop1666 are you talking about Mishar Tatars? Their Finno-Ugrian origins was outdated theory, genetically they are close to Kazan Tatars.
They are calls Slavic names “Russian” 🇷🇺
Just want to point out that that's the flag of East Karelia. We Finnish Karelians usually use a two-stripe red/black flag.
As a partly Finnish-American, I can confirm that is pretty much accurate
The Sami, Nenets, Livs, Karelians and Lapps are almost extinct, the Vepsians are already extinct. But for some reason the Udmurts, Komi-Permyaks, and Meadow Maris (they are partly Mongoloids) were not mentioned. But the Hungarians, who diverged from the Finns 3500 years ago, were mentioned
@@Вашевеличество-й8з Samis are nowhere near extinction. They are in fact doing so well that they've started to claim all other minorities are just copying from them. I've always hated the bs about them being the "one and only" ingenious group in Finland until Finns supposedly drove them away, it makes no sense if you study our cultures and compare it to today. Samis are only in trouble because they cannot stop bickering amongst themselves, gatekeeping who is/is not a real Sami. They demand art pieces about them be destroyed because the painter was not a Sami herself. Such a whiny minority, most Finns stay away from them.
@@Вашевеличество-й8з There was a good show about these forgotten tribes in Finnish tv. It was hosted by Ville Haapasalo, who drove around Russia meeting these tribes.
I didn't even know half of these people's exist
Best language family ❤
Joo! ❤ (Yeah!)
perkele
I personally like germanic languages more but i like Uralics too
Probably because i only speak Germanic languages like german and dutch lol
You probably will learn more languages in future mate. 😅
The livonian language has been revived
thank you very much for music list!!
It is interesting to note, that while our languages may be different our music still feels familiar.
That was awesome. Making a playlist of all this music now
The Kamassians, and Yukaghirs are the most interesting to me, and it’s sad how their people are disappearing
This video is so sad. So many cultures dying, especially in Siberia. 😢
Would be nice to include a map to show where each of these are located
My ancestors were finno-ugric (komi, Inkeri and karelians) and i like this music.
Greetings from Hungary. 👍😍
As a Finn, I must say that our song was a good pick. Got my foot tapping instantly.
Suomalaisena minun täytyy sanoa, että laulumme oli hyvä valinta. Alkoi heti jalka taputtaa.
Kiitos tästä. Arvostan!
As a Finn, I confirm estonian having that helmet.

@@Redfizhmordor?? What the fuvk is wrong with you 😂
Nice one! There are more than 1 distinct Sámi languages and groups btw.
I’ve been awaiting the representation of our people’s! I wish you and your family a long life, with happiness and in good health!
I have read this videos entire comment section which is about 1036 comments Torilla tavataan.
As a Montenegrin, I'm very fascinated about a Uralic people.I cannot imagine how look being born as an Uralic.
Hm, in Russia, urlaic people are looking like asians, but with pale skin, blue/green eyes and dark hair
I have just discovered a new overlooked world..... and I have been to a lot of places...
Better late than never!
J.R.R. Tolkien enjoyed the discovery as well, almost a hundred years ago.

Love from Finland 💙
Love to all my uralic and finnic brothers and sisters 💙 from Finland. People are too westernised here and too many finns dont even understand who we are….
smh.... finns are western and have been from birth. Its just that there is bit of ancestry from siberia uralic speaking migrating to west and assimilating to western culture and genetics and only language was left and thats what created finnics,, well part of it as finnic languages are in reality only partly uralic. Uralic people were full asian like samoyedic people nenets,, not some white farmer folk. Finnics are only like 20% uralic. Sami half uralic. Samoyed people nenets and enets full true uralic. Im finn sami mix myself by the way and i hate this non sense made up finnougric fantasy bs
@@Viso333 its actually on average around 20-30% for finnish samis and 5-15% for finns. With western i dont imply europeans. It doesnt matter. Finns are the most and least europeans of europeans lol. Before we joined the EU in the 90’s we werent considered as western in that sense. There was lots of talks in Finland about should we get closer to Europe/West and what are the pros and cons. The pov was clearly that we were not part of the west. It was a great time.
It's inevitable, it's best to accept that time will change things. We're becoming more international, more connected, more alike, and the borders between countries will begin to blur more and more as we move on. It's best to understand it as natural progression, as we cannot force time backwards. But at the same time, we can appreciate these cultures, pay our respects by learning about them, their way of life, and taking part in cultural activities. The world moves on, but there's still beauty to be found.
Yeah now days people just make us be the little Sweden.
Funny that Hungarian alone speak more people than all the other 25 groups combined...😮 (We have ca. 25 million finno-ugric speaking people, Hungarians alone 14,5 million from that)...
Im swedish but lived in Estonia, wonderful country ❤
【Sunglasses Pirates】Greets from Finland, i knew there were only two larger groups of Finno-Ugric language tree along with Finland that being Estonia & Hungary and so it was nice to see rest of the bunch!
great video and i'm glad to see you included to music list. you make great content and i hope these videos contiune o succede

Loving the Seto rep!!
Forgot the Chuvash but technically they are Balto-Uralic (very very similar but the last of its kind) Also no one really knows so I guess that one needs to get solved.
They are Turkic
There is almost nothing baltic about them to note. Their culture is influenced by neighboring maris (their culture itself may have some baltic substrate), and genetically they're closest to udmurts/besermyans and only then to maris.
@@ðənjudæs Most of the research on the Chuvash was done by a crackhead scientist in the USSR (comparative dialectic linguistics)... The sad thing is most former SSRs and Russia still use the same research when claiming ethnic ties. Wrote a thesis on it.
I am Russian with some Erzya heritage, so I guess I should say something under this video
3:03 I finally found the Uralic subgroup that I belong to. Thanks to the author for showing our ethnicity. Greetings from the Republic of Mari El!
Song of Yukagirs is "Chakadan", which sings famous Yakut-Yukaghir-Russian singer, unfortunately i dont remember her name, but you can search at yt
