My dad was a Finn and while I was born here in Lithuania,all through his life till his death when I was 11 he always said he missed Finland and always felt like he belonged there cause of how the place looked and its people being like him (in behavior and looks). I've always been so curious about Finland cause I am my dad's exact copy and I don't feel like I belong here either. Watching this feels like exploring it + being closer with my dad + AND memes all together and it feels like being given a home to explore I never thought I had. My family comes from Lappi, my great grandfather Urho was born in the Sauna of their log cabin (This being at the beginning of the 20th century when Finland was basically devoid of medical care), his mother dying shortly after and he himself being sent to The U.P (The disconnected part of Michigan, notable for its large Finnish population) at only a few months old with some other family, it's honestly a miracle that he kept his birth name given that children without their biological parents travelling to the states rarely keep their name intact. After which he would live with a rather unkind lady near Chatham, a lady who kicked two of her children out when they turned twelve.
I love this area too. My grandparents live there, and whenever I visit them, my soul is filled with peace. There's a thing called 'Lapland's magic' coined by the Eurovision winner Mister Lordi. When you live in the South, in a city, your life is a complete mess and you're very stressed out and live in constant panic. Then Mr. Lordi moved to Lapland. Now, his life is still a total complete mess and a chaos, but he isn't bothered about it, and he is quite satisfied with how things are, and feeling quite happy and relaxed. That is Lapland's magic.

Best thing is, lapland is like the two regions shown, except its been put into a blender, theres no real point of crossing between "laplands" youre in there, then youre in the other, and vice versa.
North Karelia seems quite accurate here in general, though I think there are certain differences within the region, like between the local cities and between city life and countryside. Then again, the people could argue the same way I do about their home regions.
As a Finnish person, from Pohjois-Savo with family members who has often lived in Helsinki for many years and i've also visited there many times also with my cousins and they having the same story this is 100% accurate. Pohjois-Savo & Helsinki is like a day and night, completely different places.
