@@mrcrazzymeme1454 Well, that’s not generally true here in Sweden. I can’t speak for other countries on this continent, but I do know Mexico and the US are vastly different despite being on the same continent, so I’m sure there are differences here aswell.
But this subject is kinda stupid tbh, compare a Californian to a Texan or New Yorker and you’ll see 3 very, very different cultures. Compare a Swede with a French person and you’ll see two very different people again.
We can even zoom in on a local level: A person from Stockholm will have a hard time understanding a person from Skåne or northern Sweden, due to the vastly different dialects (sometimes it feels like the peep’s up north have their own language..). This is probably a contributing factor to the cultural and political differences between the south, mid and northern parts of Sweden.

The song used for Jämtland is not in (standard) Swedish. It's Jämtska, which I would argue is a different language altogether. Härjedalen song is in standard Swedish tho, where you can hear the slight Norwegian sounding dialect.

@@GL-iy7mj I agree. Jamska or "Jämtska," according to Sweden, is classified as a dialect. However, it is just as distinct as Swedish and Norwegian, which are considered separate languages. Either Jamska should be recognized as a language, or the Scandinavian languages should be acknowledged as dialects of each other.

    • @GL-iy7mj

@@Ericsson2002 This is also the case with Elfdalian, even with pressure coming from EU to recognize it as a language. I suppose Sweden is just really bad at recognizing languages because I genuinely don't see why we shouldn't.
