As an Evangelical, half of Evangelicals absolutely terrify the shit out of me. Everything is the mark of the beast to them and whenever there's a tragedy that happens, it's suddenly "the sign of the times". They've been saying this since the 1700s/1800s. My mom said that her dad also preached that stuff, and it terrified her, fearing that she won't grow up and have a future but here we are. That also scared the fuck out of me growing up too, fearing that I won't ever experience having a future. Like man, I just want to graduate high school and college, get married, start a family, grow old, and see my grandchildren. Their weird fetish with the end of the world is extremely creepy and disturbing to a new level. I am terribly sorry for the paragraph, and I couldn't find a way to simplify it.
Same for me. I always had rapture anxiety and would think my parents would disappear because I told a lie, had a doubt or bad thought and didn't pray about it. I'm more postmellinial now. In fact outside of the US (or just American dispensationalism) most churches don't believe in a rapture or rather not the same way it's taught. What's funny concerning the mark of the beast is that cellphones literally do all of it too.
There's nothing more terrifying or bewildering than finding yourself staring down the barrel of the morality gun wielded by the very people that you'd assumed would have your back.
They are so weird and downright embarrassing to be technically associated with them sometimes. Why the obsession with the end times and the rapture which isn't actually scriptural? If it happens it happens, there is no real point in trying to predict when or how it will happen. It seems such a waste when we can be doing so much more good focusing that energy on something productive.

Oh, you Christians are double-faced 🥱🥱🥱
American Evangelicals will dox you if they catch you with a Democrat on your voting slip
