I've never understood what some people have against disco. Maybe it isn't heavy sounding like Rock and Roll and Metal? Someone who is 20 y older than me said that he missed out on disco bc he thought it was terrible because of all the comments others have made. Once in a while, someone brings back disco, such as Jamiroquai in Canned Heat and it becomes super popular.
It never really left. It became club, house, etc. But I know what you saying, no dance music will ever beat this era. And Chic was the best of them all!
The first time I heard this Disco Song was on the television show Narcos during an episode where the narrator talks about Studio 54 purchasing all of their cocaine supply from The Medellin Cartel and The Cali Cartel.
So yea I'm 50 and heard this song just now in my head.....Had time find it and play it thank you chic. I remember as a little girl I would sit Indian style and listen to all my mothers albums...this was one of them
Bernard Edward had the natural groove, always stunned when listening to bass lines. Just amazing! Nile and Bernard were perfect partners in musical artistry.
In that era music was talent driven. One had to use the talent bestowed upon them to make music and to be singers. They had no computer to rely on, only human effort.
If it sounds so good in 2020, imagine what it sounded like circa 1978. I always thought CHIC'S music was out of this world and 40+ years later I still do. Gosh these guys and gals had it all....bad bass guitar, sick rhythm guitar, good keyboard licks (especially on Good Times), pulsating disco beats, lush female voices, strings. Damn!
The string player in the blue and white, who is shown from the 2:37 point to the 2:41 point, moves very nicely when dancing. Look at the, "Le Freak" video from the 2:14 to the 2:17 points of it, and at the 2:24 and 2:25 points. You might say, "nicely done lady."
Dance Dance Dance was played in Narcos when the narrator was talking about how Studio 54 purchased their cocaine supply from The Medellin and Cali Cartels. Cocaine use blew up during The Disco Era.
We had some great times to the wonderful sounds of disco!!! Chic, all of those other great bands, lit life up back then!!!!!! We had a pure ball hanging out with our Boo/family/friends!!!!! We worked hard all week/lived every minute of life for those weekends!!!!!!!

I don't know about that but Luci Martin sure looks beautiful today in 2023. I saw a RUclips 2021 video of her and I could have sworn that's a woman not far from 27 years of age looking.
