“Alfa Anderson was my chorus teacher, yet she was so much more than that-a celebrity, a mentor, a friend, and an endless source of inspiration. She had a way of making you feel like you could do anything, like you could truly find your voice. She unlocked my love for making music and helped me overcome my fear of production. Her presence was simply magical, and she inspired everyone she came into contact with. I was so happy to know her, and in my youth and immaturity, I didn’t even realize at first that she had been part of the legendary group Chic. But even before I knew that, I respected her deeply for who she was-her wisdom, her kindness, and her ability to bring out the best in those around her. Alfa, thank you for all that you taught me. Words can’t fully capture how I feel or the hurt I carry now that you’re no longer with us. But know this: I will never forget you, and I’m sure everyone whose life you touched feels the same. You were truly one of a kind, and your legacy will live on forever.” 😢❤

Bernard Edwards not only managed to play that sick bass line, but he did so in a business suit. The man should have his own wing in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for pulling that off.
