They provided so MUCH Great Music with Uplifting Messages We need no We Demand better quality of lyrics, sound Passion, and Clarity it Really needs to Make Sense!😊😅🎉😂❤
Chic is one of my favorite groups of all time! My cousin (Bernard Edwards) is on the bass. He is known ss one of the best R&B bass guitar players of all time.
Ahhhhhhh... back when music WAS music and performers WERE TALENTED. See how classy they look compared to today's people (who are almost naked on the stage)... I miss them good old days... man, did we have fun then... good, clean fun!!
This group in my opinion changed a whole genre of music in the early 80s. They were ahead of their time using strings. I was a freshman at Hunter College the Alma Mater of Alfa and what they did for music during that time has rarely been matched. They touched so many lives with their music. The synchronism of effort was out of this world. Just listen.
Raymond Jones was also a very integral part of Chic his piano playing on some of there ballads is so melodic and beautiful if you listen very carefully its unique. This is one of the few times you actually saw him live on stage.
Actually he appeared with Chic quiet a few times before he left the band. His piano playing was quite influential to me growing. Loved his sneaky melodies. Ive always thought he was underrated as a musician. R.I.P. The Great Raymond Jones.
Just watched this on BOUNCE. Always played this one back in the disco days. Chic had it all. Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers. Singer songwriters. The bass is kicking and the violins rule.
I just absolutely love this group I was only young when they came out but I’ve got all there cd 💿 & the lead guitarist Nile Gregory Rodger’s Jr is absolutely amazing he’s brilliant & how he plays the guitar 🎸 makes all the songs stand out & he makes quite a few songs 🎶 for other vocalist but i could listen 🎧 too these over & over again definitely a 5 ⭐️ for me xx
I had never heard this song back in the 80s when it was first released. Only heard it recently. And it's one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite groups of the 70s & early 80s, Chic. Very nice song. That was real music back then. The groups from the 70s & 80 really knew how to lay it down.
Listening to this song back in the day started everything for me with music. This was my building block. The 70's, 80's, and 90's are some of the best music and sing along ballets ever. The reason why there are so many views and visitors nowadays, is because Generation X individuals like me, have given up on or are not interested with some of the music after the years of the 2000’s.
HobbsBhipp Junior High School for me. I was around 12 or 13 when this came out. My how time flies. Let me know when you're ready to help with building my time machine.
Muy guapas las vocalistas de CHIC , en sus portadas de sus singles y LP's aparecian sus fotos.....Siempre me han atraido las mujeres morenas , mi primera novia era morena , mi esposa tambien . Un tributo a Sister Sledge , The Three Degrees y Tina Turner.🎵🎶🎼💋💞❤
There is still only one group call Chic. If you went back and looked at the girls you are talking about that are both light skinned and one is wearing braids; they are new members of the group. Most groups from back in the day that are still performing today have several new younger members added to the group. On this same page to the right Chic - Dance, Dance, Dance features the two light skinned girls and one has braids singing the songs from Chic with new members added.
chic are edwards and rodgers who produced sister sledge ,diana ross;johnny mathis - its alright to love me 1981 - shelia & b devotion 1980 ' debbie harry, norma jean- saturday , lonely boy ,high society ,i like love , carly simon - why , fonzi thorton- i work hard for a living ,duran duran ,madonna a and many more last shapeshifters.....
You might be confusing them with Sister Sledge. Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic also wrote songs for Sister Sledge who are all light skinned. Sister Sledge has sung some of the same songs originally performed by Chic. The two albums on the right with the two light skinned women are still albums from Chic. Back in the day the groups did not always have their picture on their albums. I think the album with the two light skinned women were one of the first albums by Chic.
Nile Rodgers is one of the original members of the group. He is now wearing dreadlocks. Ignore the women for a while and focus on the men in the group. Depending on what video you are watching you may see both Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards who are both original members of the group performing with the two light skinned women you are talking about.
listen to johnny mathis its alright to love me 1981...was not released produced by chic....also norma jean - high society , lonely boy, saturday ,sorcercer ' i like love also shelia & b devotion spacer 12".....
Fuck you..theres a reason for that ..like Soul train..or any chart show in the world ..singers or bands who have hits in that era..the studios they perform to a live audience ,,have no room for full orchestra or finance ..its just to show case the hit by singer or band..might have to take a couple of shot videos to get it right..but rest assured Chic can turn out mind blowing performances ..one always has zit like you to destroy the glory ..but theres a thing called a zap blaster..your zapped
WAS THERE TWO GROUPS CALLED CHIC? BECAUSE THIS IS THE GROUP THAT I KNOW BUT THERE IS ANOTHER GROUP ON HERE CALLED CHIC BUT THE FEMALES IN THE GROUP ARE REALLY REALLY REALLY LIGHT SKINNED BUT THEY SING THE SAME SONGS SO CAN SOMEONE FILL ME IN?
Stop wishing and just shovel another bit of soil on the grave of R&B; it's dead. Move on. "Bow down, bitches!" (I think that's how it goes.) is what you need to get your arms around. Try to start liking it...
i dont think its sister sledge but i just know that today it is two light skinned women as chic and one of the women wears braids all the time and the two women in this video look nothing like chic today
But, the record was like it was in a Disco. That was the reason singers lip-synched. You cannot duplicate the greatness of the original song unless it's lip-synched. I prefer it as,well, maybe I'm a Disco person and like recorded music. I've heard some awful live performances of real good songs by the original artists. . .
So nice bass line¡¡¡B.Edwards and N.Rodgers¡¡
Bernard Edwards et Nile Rodgers avaient une touche musicale magique
They provided so MUCH Great Music with Uplifting Messages

Ahhhhhhh... back when music WAS music and performers WERE TALENTED. See how classy they look compared to today's people (who are almost naked on the stage)... I miss them good old days... man, did we have fun then... good, clean fun!!
True that, true indeed.
RIP Bernie Edwards and Anthony Thompson. You two brothers really laid it down for the group.
RIP Alfa Anderson.
chic one the best groups ever to change the face of music in the 70's and 80's
These guys are so underrated I've only heard their hits but they had a lot of good music that goes unheard
Awesome! Love me some Chic!!❤❤
Amo chic sempre desde minha adolescência sempre fui apaixonado pelas músicas desta incrível banda
How this group has been nominated for entry into the R&R HOF 11 times and has not gotten in is absolutely insane
How cool is the presenter, so laid back and Chic are the coolest.

You shouldn't forget to mention the genius of Bernard Edwards on bass.
I was growing with this tune, it s magic i think. I was 16 the first time i listen it.
Love it!!!!!

Could be the singers you saw are Sylver Logan Sharp and Jessica Wagner. The ones above are Alfa Anderson and Luci Martin if I am not mistaken.
For those that didn’t know Luther Vandross was a background singer on Chic’s 1st two Albums
Look like in Brazil...the group Golden boys and Trio Esperança..in 60´s
