What a glorious look at the antiquity of the Irish narrow gauge which had read about but never seen on film. Nostalgia with a capital N.
I wish these railways were still providing passenger and goods traffic!
I don’t understand why Diesel electric locomotives took over.
I mean, steam wasn’t obsolete! The existing locomotives were still just as functional as they had ever been!
Steam should’ve lasted another decade at least
That's just gorgeous
All closed railway lines throughout Ireland including the Western rail corridor, Athlone-Mullingar etc. Should be reopened to trains to prevents car accidents, traffic jams, road deaths & pollution of course.
People were dressed so well ❤
Lovely Footage from the Good Old Days!😃.
No 2' gauge was ever used on mainline narrow gauge on the island of Ireland. 3' was second only to 5' 3".
It was a 3' gauge railway.
Ireland is an EU member get some EU grant to reopen these railways for passengers and tourism so the lovely land isn’t full of f***ing roads!
Pity you didn't do a bit of research and get the pronunciation correct.
This guy didn’t narrate the video, so blaming him is a dick move.
Pity you didn't read the title of the video
The 2 in the title means it's the second part of the video, not that it is 2'
Patronising English !!
