It's normal for a 3-mile shakeout run to feel harder than a 15-mile run. When training for almost any running event, it's common for the "easy" days to feel harder than the intense days because the "easy" days are when you will carry all of the fatigue from your intense days. And it looks like you and I run at some of the same locations, though I'm almost exclusively a night runner.
Love love love watching your journey to marathon!!! Keeps me motivated to keep running 🥹 have you noticed anything in terms of recovery or physique now that you're running way more? I try to balance weight training and running but sometimes I feel like it's counter to trying to build muscle!
