This happened to me when I was a kid, football hitting me right in the spot. Got knocked down to the ground, cant breathe. The scholars quickly went there and lend me a hand when I was struggling to breathe. On that moment, my respect for them instantly shot up. I also remember a kid in my school getting winded by a girl swinging her arms and knocked him.

      Somewhere between your chest /abs
And stomach there is a pressurised
Sensitive area which is the same as
You getting kicked in the nuts .
Except the solar plexus is for your breathing while your nuts are for ...

I just got the wind knocked out of me for the first time when I hit my bike on the mailbox. I feel stomach first and I found it really hard to breathe. Nothing was damaged internally, but my vision started to get filled with green stars and my ears started to go muffled. After that, I started breathing. To calm myself down, I laid on the grass and inhaled and exhaled. Then I felt better and I biked back home to heal the wounds. And that all happened less than an hour ago after commenting this. I was laughing because of the best childhood experience I’ve had in a while was getting the wind knocked outta me. 😅

This happened to me when I was a child and I fell off my bike. I was alone and no one came to help me. I was terrified and in so much pain and thot I was going to die. It totally traumatized me and now, whenever anyone pushes on my chest or back such that it compresses my diaphragm I burst into tears and cry for a long time.
    Horrible.
Never leave a child to cry alone and terrified.

In 2nd grade, we were playing American football in recess, and one of the defenders charged at me with full force (probably at 5-7mph) and hit me in my solar plexus with his shoulder. It just feels like inhaling then just not being able to let go of the air, which made it worse. I also blacked out for 2 minutes according to my teachers and friends

Had this happen to me three years ago. Fell flat on my back from about a meter high and had the wind knocked out of me. Scariest thing that ever happened. I was on a training and the trainers immediatly told me what to do and held my arms up as I was trying to breathe. The first thought I had was: wait, what happens if I stop breathing? Doctors later told me I couldn't sport for two months and then I found out I had a compressed vertebrae. Still hurts till this day. A lot less painful than the moment I was there lying on the ground, but I can still feel my back isn't the same anymore. Interesting to see what actually happens if you have the wind knocked out of you!

I was walkin down stairs and it suddenly felt as if the floor fell beneath me and I just kinda tripped on the stairs and landed straight on my butt [lol] and the impact from a 12 ft fall of that just like, cascaded up my spine and knocked the wind outa me. I was like "holy shit I can't breathe" but I just tried to breathe normally instead of panic breathing and it fixed it. Now my back hurts like all hell but yeah now I know what it feels like to get the wind knocked out of you and I never wanna do that ever again.

    So how do you recover?
I have had this experience on multiple occasions, usually being a clumsy kid falling flat on my face down body, jumping out of a swing. Also getting punched in the guts on occasion.
Came across a tip years ago.
    I will paraphrase...
Do not panic and do not try to breathe in. Push the air, that is left in you, out, and and breathe in through your nose.
I did get the opportunity to test this once. It seemed to help, but the first thing is do not panic and deal with the discomfort.
I never experienced pain, just difficulty breathing.
Edit: I totally misunderstood/ never really knew what the solarplexus is

Is it harder for people with asthma to regain their breathe after getting wind knocked out of them than the average person who doesn’t have asthma?

    • @CatalystUniversity
      @CatalystUniversity  5 лет назад +14

I'll take an educated guess here. Asthma is dependent on factors causing bronchoconstriction (decreased airway diameter). I don't know that getting hit in the solar plexus BY ITSELF would induce bronchoconstriction. However, getting hit in the solar plexus in an environment with allergens together might pose a problem for an asthmatic.

    HELP PLEASE!
I’ve been dealing with this for 8 years! No one can diagnose what it is! I RANDOMLY get IMMENSE pain right under where the ribs split. It feels like I have had the wind knocked out of me, but I can breathe. It floors me. Doctors say it’s not anything they can see on an X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI and standard blood tests. No answers. I’ve been told it’s constipation! It’s so disheartening. My pain tolerance is high but this pain level is like giving birth! It lasts anywhere between minutes to hours.. no pain medicine makes it go away, no matter how strong. I’ve gone in and out of the ER FOR 8 YEARS because every time it happens it feels like I might die! Does anyone have answers?!

You described very similar sharp pain I lived with for more than a decade, believing it was gallbladder stones or kidney, like a knife cutting under my ribs, or running cramps from hell, turned up it was sever case of constipation, I drink almost a gallon of water throughout the day, I lay down on bed,and massage ascending and descending colon, and for my surprise it's gone for good, pain never comes back unless I stop drinking the water and eat the foods that get me constipated, I've proved to myself what hurts me many times, I hope it works for you, best of luck

OMG I’ve had this since my childhood, almost 30 years now and going crazy to figure out what it is. Sometimes I get it everyday, other times every other month. I even get this in the middle of the night while sleeping … To be honest it’s the worst pain in the world … giving birth is less painful in my opinion 😢

For 30 years I have been having sudden and very intense pain in the solar plexus. Can’t link the reasons why and I have been trying to figure this out ever since. I have had moments of this 1-2 times a day, sometimes years without and every other month even while sleeping. If it isn’t a physical punch what could it be …

To be specific it feels like my heart is trying to dance some times, and when it gets REALLY funky it takes my breath away. Wish u the best not trying to be political
