Painting Artist ''Peter Mitchev'' ................
It's astonishing to me that this composer, Simeon ten Holt is not more well known. I had never once heard his name until I moved to the Netherlands three years ago. His music is incredible, and it is, in my opinion, much richer in color than other minimalist composers like Glass and Reich.

This piece has accompanied me through many happy and sad moments, like someone having a deep emotional comforting conversation with me...
The minimal compositions of the Dutch compositor ten Holt on one of the annual festivals of the Concertgebouw at Brugge are revolutionary and in combination with the beautiful painting of the Bulgartian Mitchev it is simply a treat. Thanks for uploading

I find it so interesting, as an aspiring composer, that Simeon is able to create this fabric of chordal harmony with 2 or 3 completely separate melodic lines! He weaves them together with such ease, it is truly astonishing! Absolutely inspiring!

You know when something just fits 'right' with some part of your unconscious (?) mind? It just gives you an overall good/positive feeling (not necessarily happy, but positive nevertheless). This is doing that for me :). Like sometimes music makes me feel empty/anxious - but this music is definitely making me feel positively in some way. Thank you very much for sharing it! Also I love the paintings.

Some melodic, not-all-that-dissonant avant garde music. Refreshing. Reminds me of Phillip Glass, but a little more melancholy.

Je voudrais faire ici de l'acte d'écriture un art de la reprise, une lutte acharnée, un combat interminable contre toutes les forces négatives de commentaires écrits déposés ici comme des étrons aussi fastidieux qu'inutiles, et dont la vocation première serait de consolider des châteaux de rêves verbeux qui ne renvoient pas au néant absolu !! J'aimerais que l'écriture retrouve son pouvoir salvateur et ne pas se cantonner aux "Amazing!" et encore "I love this" «c’est magnifique» sans parler des "Beautiful" et autres "Thanks for sharing" qui me font dresser les cheveux sur la tête !! J'aimerai que l'écriture écrase les dernières incertitudes dans le cendrier de la confiance ranimée des amoureux des mots, mais hélas, rien n'est moins sûr... Le pouvoir d'évocation de cette musique m'inspire cela au plus profond !

I am sure the composer of this music got his inspiration, if not the direct melody, from the 4th movement (Alla Danza Tedesca) of Beethoven's string quartet no. 13 in B flat, op. 130, and then he wove a series of overlays and harmonic variations. Compare: ruclips.net/video/GAyVh25N1wU/видео.html I wonder what Mr Holt could have done with the Grosse Fuge that accompanied the same quartet.
