    Avid water bottle collector here ( it’s weird I know) You can drink hot and perishable drinks in the owala, for hot you just have to remove the straw otherwise pressure can build up and hot water can shoot out of the straw when the flip top is opened. Owala puts “only for cold liquids” to avoid lawsuits if someone gets burned. You can use perishable drinks as well, just have to rinse thoroughly. Any of the bottles with plastic or silicone pieces/gaskets can grow funk if you put milk or juice in them and don’t rinse thoroughly after each use. Sad to not see Klean Kanteen in your comparison. They are awesome and B Certified. Maybe check them out next time. Fun video 👍🏻

      Thanks so much for all this info! I actually used to have a Klean Kanteen in high school - but haven’t had one since. Definitely worth looking into too!

      You should remove the gasket compeltely and wash under it since that's the biggest issue in all of these.

      Where do you get that claim from? The instructions with my owala bottle said it can only be used exclusively for water, not even other cold drinks. Let alone hot or perishable beverages.

    Thanks for Sharing Jess, interesting comparison, I think to run errands and portability I’d say the Stanley cup and as for temperature control I’d choose the S’well

    Love this! I took your exact winner bottle to Disney in July. It did not pass the keeping my water cold test but it’s a cute bottle. Love my stanly for at home and hands down winner for me out and about is the hydro flask.

    I’d be interested to see your thoughts on the Stanley vs. Simply Modern cup. I have the simply modern version and even when it fell over no spill if any with the straw. Size and design are very similar, but the Simply Modern one is monochromatic which I think is cuter than the Stanley

    This is such a wonderfully indepth video! Thanks for making it! ☺️
    I made my customized my hydroflasks on their website and you can create such cute styles! I have one that is a light periwinkle and the cap is matching as well as well as a silicone grippy boot on the bottom. I have the wide mouth flex caps and the handle swings and I absolutely love them. So comfy and I fun to swing them when going on walks! You can even customize the handle color online! I've left my hydroflasks with ice in the car for hourssss and they still had ice when I drank from them. Also love them for my hot teas.😊
    The size of the bottles does influence the ice test because essentially the air trapped in the bottles is allowing the ice to melt faster. But it would've been really hard for you guys to test ice at home, like you'd need to measure the volume of the bottles and ice cubes, decide on an ice to air ratio, but I so appreciate your thoroughness with all the tests!☺️💕 Was shocked the lululemon one did so well!

    • @JessMcKay
      @JessMcKay  Год назад +2

      Totally agree about the ice! The caps and different lids might also throw off the results. But gave it the best shot we could haha! Thanks so much for watching! And good to know you can really make your hydroflask cute!!!!

    i found this very helpful ive used yeti and currently use owala. They are both great for my needs example I use them on a daliy basis and on the commute. I love owala I just wished the owalas the free sip the one i have (and the one in the video) I wish they can make it so you can but any beverage(in general). I did a test where I put cofee in an another owala bottle to see what would be the outcome and while i didnt think any of it it still has the smell of coffee and ive done it all used lots of soap, put it in the dishwasher and even putting vineger in it and it still smells and i can still taste the cofee. But overall I love my owala out of all the other ones i have tried

  • @MsKathyR100

    I’m not sure if this would hold true for all of them but if you fill them up with more ice the ice will hold up longer. I normally fill my larger bottles 32 oz and larger with at least half ice and often more. I fill up with ice at home and then fill with water at work. But sometimes I don’t bother if I feel like drinking something else. I only use my bottles/large tumblers for water and water with sugar free enhancers (more for flavor than actual enhancement). Then I forget about the ice. And
    often I will still have a decent amount of ice 24 and even 36 hours later. And at 48 hours I have cold water. I have Yeti, Hydroflask, Brumate, and Stanley. The latter two I use straws with. Ice lasts the least in those two but if I don’t add water, I will still have ice 24 hours later. But that is with taking out the straw and closing the spout.
    As for the Stanley, if it’s full and you carry it with your hand right at the top of the handle there is a hex nut or some sort of situation on the underside that will dig into whichever part of your hand comes into contact with it. And it’s not comfortable. But if you carry it by the middle of the handle you should be fine.

    • @mdem5059
      @mdem5059 5 месяцев назад

      Pretty much this, when I saw her only put in a few small ice cubes in I knew it wasn't correct. The room temp steel alone would act as a heatsink so you need a larger amount of ice to cool down the steel first.

    I know I'm really late but I really wish hydrapeak was in this because I have 2 and they are completely leak proof and they are really well insulated considering it kept ice in my bottle for 48 hours and only some melted. You can also put hot drinks but I don't usually drink hot stuff so I don't know how it would work. They also have pretty big handle and they also have tumblers like stanleys. Overall they are really good bottles and I think they would of done really good.

    What's with the water bottle craze? That's all it is. At home we always drink tap water out of a glass keeping cost, waste and micro plastics to a minimum. Unless exercising or going to be away for days you'll survive nicely without a water bottle just like folks did years ago. 🤷
