Everybody's not gonna have the same opinion (obviously) but this song is craaaaaazy good. The breakdowns and the gospel chops towards the end makes me wanna learn drums even though I have 0 music inclination.
I've never really admired drumming until I listened to Jaws and a few other songs from Sleep Token. My thoughts were "man this guy's really groovy with it!"
I know you mentioned that the scores you give don't necessarily reflect your personal opinion on the songs, but it's an interesting coincidence that you gave "Jaws" the same rating as "Nazareth," even though you said you weren't a fan of the latter but you did like this one. In any case, hey, I'm glad you genuinely enjoyed this and could speak about it from a place of genuine appreciation. It's cool that you again noticed and commented on II's drumming, like breaking down his specific techniques and distinctive patterns on this track. You declared II was the highlight on this track and for many Sleep Token fans, II is consistently a highlight. Originally, I was going to bring up "Jaws" before you got to "Sundowning." By having you react to "Nazareth" and "Jaws" back to back, I was also thinking about pointing out that there's a lot of speculation that the "Jaws" music video was actually meant for "Nazareth" since the mood and visuals of the "Jaws" music video seems to align much better with "Nazareth's" music and lyrics. It's a pretty curious theory, but since you say you generally don't care about music videos, I thought you might not be too interested in that tidbit. So, I decided to let you start with "Sundowning" first, circle back to "Jaws" and then continue with the rest of "Sundowning."
Oh, and by the way, I'm loving that you're still showing "Fields of Elation" some love. That song deserves way more recognition, in my opinion. It's too overlooked! All right, David, thanks!

Since you loved the Offering so much you should really check out their LIVE version of the song, they extend out the last portion and blow it up even bigger. I just saw it in person and it's probably the coolest thing I've ever seen
Feel like we were on an upwards trajectory with Sleep Token, then this comes up. Uh oh 😂
A lot of people want you to react to the newest stuff from Take Me Back To Eden, some of Tomb you will like too I feel, but they will definitely throw the metal in late in the game on some songs, some songs are poppy and almost r&b/jazz with little to no metal, these guys don't follow one genre or normal songwriting, but I feel that is what is cool about them. They don't follow a typical structure or typical style, maybe not typical time signatures also, you will know better than I on that. Oh, and II just won Drumeo drummer of the year, his drumming is insane, eventually you may see the "offerings" from II showing him drum on camera to their songs, the guy is amazing and loves his china.
"The Summoning" will be your favourite.
I'm just waiting to hear some Sleep Token songs from "Take Me Back To Eden"... I think they'll be more of your style...
Not A fan of this track. In keeping with the vibe of the channel.... nope not feeling this
I feel like this song goes on too long. After the breakdown near the end, they could have had another slower breakdown then ended it
