    My little brother recently asked me "If you were in a hospital and could only listen to one song before you died..what would it be?"...this song is the only one that came to mind..this is the perfect song to end anything with..so many callbacks and sentiments are in this song for this band and Vessel himself..this song is more than a masterpiece to say the least. Incredible songwriting and coming full circle from the very beginning of this band and Vessels history

    YES ELUCID. You should also do The Night Does Not Belong To God. This song references that melody cause these 2 songs bookend the past 3 albums. It's a concept trilogy. There are actually a lot of lyrical references in this too to there past songs and eps before their Debut ("this bough has broken through" is a reference to "When The Bough Breaks of there first EP.) Elucid is a phenomenal closer for a phenomenal trio of albums. It's got major movie credits vibes.

    seeing metal heads all over the internet literally crying to Sleep Token piano and somber soft tones is humbling. This band came out of nowhere for me. I started listening to them in January 2023 with 2 full albums to dive in on, then the new album hit in May and I binged it, then put it on repeat for a week.

    I felt like its more of a self discovery and having a break through after a long trying relationship rediscovering yourself. He also said give me 5 more minutes but i think that was breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to us because the song was 5 minutes! Not to mention referencing 2 more of there previous songs in this and how it litterally ended where it began in the first album! A true masterpiece. Absolutely love how much you guys appreciate this band too, Great review! ❤

  • @TheRealVarzens
    @TheRealVarzens 11 месяцев назад +14

    My interpretation of this song (influenced by the fact that it comes just after Take me Back to Eden) is him accepting that their relationship is over and just saying "just so you know, I'm finally okay with the fact that we are not together anymore. But just know that I'll always love you"
    It's Vessel saying that they can part ways without him resenting her.
    After pouring his heart out during the whole album, he's finally at peace

    This whole album is just insanely good, just like the first two albums are. I sobbed like a little child when "Euclid" ended with the reprise of the first song of the first full length album. Such a beautiful way to end a trilogy.

  • @CasSafras33
    @CasSafras33 11 месяцев назад +11

    This song is SUCH a bomb ending. SO MANY references! "Do you remember me? When the RAIN gathers." You should really listen to The Night Does Not Belong to God and then relisten to Euclid like someone else mentioned. The whole, bringing down heaven bit and the last verse is a reference to TNDNBTG. "And do you still believe, that nothing else matters?" reference to Blood Sport. Some cross references being "The Whites of your eyes" from Jaws, "You will not be mine" from the entirety of Mine lol. A couple of very loose references, one to Dark Signs in "I play along with the life signs anyway" and "these ancient canopies that we used to lay beneath" to Drag Me Under's "I am to merely behold you as we lie down together"............
    This feels like the end of an era and Euclid is so bitter sweet when you've gone through every song starting with Thread the Needle. I highly recommend listening to every song they have.

    There is a lot of speculation, at least that I've seen, that this might be there last album. Who knows, right? If so, what an asbolutely spectacular song to ride into the sunset on. Listening along with your reaction was probably somewhere around the 50th time ive listened to this track, and i still got chills! This band has struck a chord with me that very few others ever have, and I'm so thankful for your channel bringing them to my attention in the first place. This whole album is working its way up my all time list, just pure magic from start to finish. Everything about this song from the melodies, the lyrics, the piano, the "heavier" sections when the music actually picks up... it's just all so damn good, this song is so emotionally taxing (in a good way). I just can't say enough, and could keep rambling lol. So I will leave it at that. Theres a couple left y'all have yet to check out, so we might as well keep the ST train rolling into September 😉

    I think this song and the first song of sundowning(the night does not belong to god) are the beginning and ending of a cycle. He speaks as vessle(the person who is hurting) in the lyrics "call me when you get the chance, I can feel the walls around me closing in". And then he speaks as Euclid(or the person he is trying to become) in the part that goes "call me when you get the time, I just need to leave this part of me behind". I think vessle/himself are fighting through trauma in these 3 amazing albums. And I think vessle and himself who are the same person but different parts of themselves "tangle endlessly". So the song The night does not belong to God and this song Euclid are the entanglement. A endless cycle. The snake eating it's own tail if you will. He's trapped in this struggle for peace but knows that vessle will forever be a part of him. So give vessle the night.
