Wither doesn’t really fit with a spreading infection, when something is withered away it should be either dying, undead, or dead. Not turned into a living, spreading and thriving infection.
It should turn mobs into black skeleton versions of themselves. And kill all plant blocks and transform the grass blocks into coarse dirt blocks; but I don't know if it should transform blocks altogether. Now I'm also expecting an Ender infection.

I was expecting it to act more like a plague. Desolating, and decaying every land it came across leaving nothing but withered husks in its wake. Which I think the mod would actually do pretty well if it cut out the weird blob and spore stuff and just stuck to the withered mobs/blocks.
honestly i like the whole roof stuff, its like the spores protective membrane but because of how it makes layers on layers its clear that the purpose of that beside creating dark spots is to shield ground from aerial bombing
It looks like you could replace the theme of this mod with anything, and it would still work. I feel Wither doesn't work as this type of infection. The Wither Storm work best.

This feels like an infection mod specifically for people who think only the over-world is overrun, since this one starts in the nether instead of the over-world
I really like how this Wither infection looks so far, it looks like it might need some improvements to prevent lag and stuff. But it looks really cool!
Regardless of how primitive this infection mod is, it is still really impressive to see. The mod team should be proud of themselves. I think they should do more with the infection actually building roofs and possibly other things.

An Enderman teleported to a dimention where the witter spreads like a virus, got infected, teleported to the overworld to die and wittered to the point of losing his eyes (the droped enderpearls) and his teleport hability meaning there was no way for it to die in another dimention?
@@kkgty Except it's vastly different. It has it's own growth system, own enemies and you can encounter it differently. It's nice if you want to have this java feeling in your modpack, but also have 2 different infection mods.
This wither infection mod seem just like a copy of other better infection mods. I think it has potential to do something vastly different making it more a unique mod. See the wither effect isn’t like a fungus spread through spores or a lichen like sculk but instead an effect that simply strips the life from everything. Instead of making it a fungus that’s only goal is to spread, make it more of an effect that is accidentally spreading via mobs gaining the effect and spreading it while it slowly kills them. Blocks such as grass would turn to coarse dirt, leaves would disappear leaving black decayed trunks, and some blocks could pick up the wither effect after being splashed with a withering potion or coming in contact with a withered mob. Withered mobs wouldn’t be mutated but would become more like empty bodies that are similar to wither skeletons. This could also potentially have some relation to the wither, since the withers theme is literally just to destroy everything. And as a simple counter, stronger health potions could be crafted to counteract the wither spread. I think it would be a cool idea, portraying the wither effect as a state of decay over just another infection mod
I'm not sure if you're aware but with the Wither Storm mob sickened mobs do attack and convert mobs, it is all data driven as well so if you wanted I'd be down to make a datapack that adds compatibility to these other mods (100% not Nazaru from the CWSM team) but I gotta say I do appreciate seeing the content like this compared to some other content relating to mods like these
Also Sickened Bees do target blocks, you can also make them convert blocks to whatever you want, it's pretty fun to mess around with but by default they only go for pumpkins, torches, or flowers
this really feels like someones first mod. Like they watched all the other infection mods and wanted to try to make their own with a in game mechanic. Its a little confused, the programming feels very simple. But like honestly if it is someones first mod its rather well done for a complicated idea like an infection mod. Well done to the dev, there are some good idea's that I think could make for a very unique mod if expanded on.
Honestly, I think this mod needs quite a bit of work, not just mechanically but thematically. Not only does it lack identity like you said, but I agree with others that the wither in this mod is too... "alive". My idea is take the vanilla wither and run with it. Make everything skeletal. Horrible amalgams of bones to make vile constructs, in line with how the wither boss is an amalgam of wither skeletons. The main twist is that these are magically animated bones that can change shape or combine with other individuals as needs arise. There's a disgustingly vital pig up above? Form into blocks of bone to let others get up to it. The grass is a little TOO green? Form a structure that will release your withering energy into the environment to kill it. A player's hiding in a stone bunker? Make a BONE DRILL to dig him out. Where normal undead just attack out of instinct, in some cases even being passive to others, the wither goes a step further. It's not just undead, it's the antithesis of life. The point being this "infection" would seek not to grow, but simply to eradicate all life. Anything alive is sickening to it. Offensive even. The infection is just an unintended side effect.
Wish there was a way to turn the various infection mods friendly. Not changing their content, but where they don't attack the player/s and maybe summonable, or a 'spell' to trigger them attacking a target or something. Also hoping 'infectum' updates one day. Would be nice to add it to the modern infection mods list.
I'd like to see how different infection mods handle the limbo dimension from dimensional doors, specifically how mods like skulk horde and flesh that hates deal with their blocks being turned into unraveled fabric. Might also be an interesting locale for versus videos if you still do those. Little content idea for you if you're ever finding yourself wanting for one...

I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. what i really want to see is an addon for both this mod and CWSM that not only prevents the wither storm from removing the wither infections, but retextures either the wither storm and it's mobs, or the infections and it's mobs so they are both similar textures and the wither storm should be able to spread the infection, and to comment on how withering kills things, the command block is powerful, and we could just say that it is spreading this death and decay everywhere, and just as a cherry on top, the infection starts when the witherstorm is built. or have this mod be an addon to cwsm and relly on the wither storm, and have the wither storm instead of following the player it focuses on infecting, of course still being a chunk loader EDIT: you can change these things in a config

That Withering Axe would be perfect for 'Scape and Run: Parasites' as a way to circumvent their adaptation BS, but unfortunately this mod is more immediately damaging to your world than 'Scape and Run: Parasites' is.
