Hey Sam, the new air brake hose you need probably cost less than the fitting you bought. If those hoses have any rubbing or cracks or a splice or not approved fittings it can be an out of service violation. Those hoses used to be less than 30 bucks at Napa. I put a whole set on my last trailer when I realized how bad they were.

When I build my equipment hauler I had a winch set up to pull my ramps up like you have. Now I switched it over to hydraulic

Air lines are a pain because you have to get under the trailer. That exhaust temperature? I remember that second pad you did with the 259d. I really like that D5 of yours and another great job. Thank you for the message

Man oh man! I've had days like that. When I was younger, whenever something would happen, I immediately would say, "Dang, what else is going to happen"? I found out quickly that that was the wrong response. Apparently, God has a sense of humor too, cause he would show me "what else could happen". Lol. Now, when something happens, I just say, "Well, at least nobody was hurt, and thank you Lord. I'm sorry you had a bad day, but praise God, sometime in the future, we won't have to endure these trials and tribulations. Nice job and nice message.

Things happen man . That’s just what we deal with owning trucks and machines. I had to do an entire job with one of those ditchwhich sk machines . The conservation agent gave me a itty-bitty path up the side of a hill and told me I couldn’t bring anything bigger than a wheel barrel. If I went off the path she would fine me. That thing was worth every penny. Hey Sam your pad build came out perfect 👍

We had hydraulic ramps put on a trailer like that and they are amazing. They make a solar battery maintainer to keep your battery charged.
I would love to have hydraulic ramps. I have a solar battery charger just need to remember to hook it up…🤣

I like the idea to make it easier to raise the ramps. Why I prefer a tiltbed trailer over ramps. Heavy ramps get old quick.

Look around at the weight limits and features of each trailer. Listing features you like & features you need.
That might help get the right trailer.
I think you would like a tiltbed better. Get away from lifting ramps.

Good morning Sam, yep always use the KISS method, works every time. question, why not hinge your cable boom that lifts the ramps, and NAPA has air hose fittings and hose, and Amazon has crimpers that don't cost an arm and a leg you could use that for quick fixes, don't ya just get fed up with people who stick their noses into everything you do.😁
I have thought about hinging the pole. That’s funny because I talked about that in the video but left it laying on the editing room floor. 🤣 was getting a bit long winded on it. I didn’t know that about crimpers. I should check on that. Don’t mind the feedback at all. Well, some folks get a little snotty with it at times…

Id reccomend buying a tilt deck for a replacement for that trailer.
Seriously, i move my cat 323 arpund all the time with it. Best thing ever, my new D3 arives in a week. The tilt deck is by far the best trailer for anything under 60,000lbs(goven you have one rated for 60,000lbs net.
I would definitely like to try a tilt deck for sure. What brand is yours. If you don’t mind send me some pics of it to my email.

@tristardiggin my trailer brand is no longer made. It's a twamco. 30 ton triple axle.
But there's a few brands out there
Sumo trailers
Olympia trailers
And valor trailers(used yo be trailmax)
Most common are the 25 ton triple axles, gross weight of 66,000 minus 13,500 lbs tare, gives you a 52,500lbs capacity. Perfect for what you have.

Well hopefully if you get pulled over by DOT they don't look at that too hard, I've been written up for stuff like that as not DOT approved hardware on a non-standard fitting.
I noticed when you cleaned the tracks out, you left that big hunk of Clay stuck to the front of the blade, I had to start cleaning that off too, I paid a $412 ticket for that same deal, as it dried out going down the road it fell off onto the trailer and then started falling onto the highway.
Your pre trip inspection and cleanup is almost another hour labor
Wow, didn’t know that about the non-standard fitting. But I guess I’m not surprised though.
I do need to clean the blade and you are right. It definitely takes some time to clean things up for transporting…

Farmers always want to improve their land to maximize earnings. Unfortunately, they rarely ever invest in a proper driveway or parking area for the big trucks coming and going to and from the farm. That's why, as a truck driver, I refuse to service them.

If I'm being honest I stopped going to a church there is to much stuff going on and things that shouldn't be talked about in a church that is my opinion. I listen to Charles Stanley and K Love for music and reading the Bible. 👍👍 up on your pretrip inspection Great catch 👍 Just a idea keep a spray bottle of soapy water in your trunk and you can check for air leaks that way. I've gave up on driving a truck you wouldn't believe how many people that don't even take the time to do a pretrip. Thanks for sharing you take care Sam 🙏

I am just a follower of Jesus. God is no respecter of person's but of faith. If we take our eyes off the prize of the upward call of God then we lose sight of our mission in servitude to Christ. Good question! I don’t know the answer to that either. I took it to NAPA and that’s what they put on.
Sam I’ve never even run a dozer before but it sounds like your machine is always at idle. Is that just to take it easy on the machine because it has plenty of power or is that just the way the newer machines run?
Hey Jon that is a good observation. I generally run the dozer in the eco mode setting. That is about 3/4 throttle. If it’s pushing hard and needs more throttle the computer will ramp it up as needed and then return to the eco mode. Saves on fuel and less wear and tear on the dozer…
