Actually the Addi has a tensioner. The gold yarn guide is a tensioner. Loose tension is just run through the guide. Mid tension is up through the hole on the top of teh gold guide. Tight tension is through the hole/slot in the bottom of the of the guide

I really regret to buy Sentro, because in total maybe i knit 50 hats and it doesn't work anymore. The weel inside, its plastic is such a bad quality that it loose some teeth, so even i turn the handle, the weel doesn't turn... In short words, it doesn't work anymore...
Yep. I'm hearing that more and more and since filming this, my Sentro stopped working too! I may need to update this video!

Sometimes you have to take it apart and oil it and clean the machines.
I’m sure you’re right. I have not done that yet; though knock on wood my Addi seems to still be running well while both of the Sentros that I had quit working.

Yep. I no longer recommend getting any brand but Addi. My Sentro stopped working all together in less than a year and I have had other people say theirs did too and that their Addi is still working after years of use. You get what u pay for!

Ok so I have a question/problem 🤣. We purchased a 22 sentro 3 weeks ago. From nearly the begining it was clunky and loud, and it progressively got worse as I tried to use it. I exchanged it. The replacement came in, used it for two days straight without any noise.
Now, every 2 rows I'm getting a skip again (where the handle moves and cranks but the circle does not) I'm watching like crazy for caught threads but its still getting worse and almost as bad as the one we just sent back Monday. Did we really burn out two machines in two weeks? Is the addi 22 better?
Addi is 100% WAY better! Since filming this my Sentro doesn't even work anymore. The Addi costs a lot more because it is a quality made machine in Germany with solid materials. And the Sentro 22 has no counter which is a no go for me! Sentro is a cheap Chinese knock off of Addi and that's why it doesn't work as well!
I like the Addi knob much better than the Sentro

There are so many people saying Addi is the best in performance. Big price difference too. I will start with Sentro. Thx.
Yes and after filming this, my Sentro quit working all together. I think it is a good way to find out if you are going to use it but if you are pretty sure you will, I would save for an Addi.

Oh good to know! But I will say that the plastic that the Addi is made of is VERY different from the plastic in the Sentro. The Addi is more of a composite I think- very hard, thick and rigid. The Sentro is more flimsy. But the biggest thing for me is that I’ve had two Sentros in only a couple of years and both of them broke already, and my Addy has been around for years and is still going strong.

Sentro is pretty much a toy ..and a useless one after about 5-6 scarfs and 3 hats. Im saving up for the Addi.
Yep. mine just tanked too.
Sentro is a toy. Addi is a knitting machine. Apples to emeralds. Sentro is like a Ford......Addi is a Rolls Royce. Sentro takes very few yarns, Addi takes most yarns. You are talking about non issues. How the machine knits is the only point that matters. Mine are zip tied to a box. How it looks??? No comparison.
I absolutely agree! Since making this video, both my Sentro machines have broken and my Addi is still going strong!
By the way Sentro is super noisy.
It is interesting because mine isn't. (or wasn't-it just quit working!) I think they must vary a lot in that dept.
