Hey idk how often you check your comments or if you'll even get to this. But I'm pulling an all nighter for a midterm tomorrow that I'm super stressed about, I mean you know, same old school stuff that everybody goes through. And in a fit of senseless loss and search for direction in my life i googled something like "I feel like I'm gonna fail this exam and every course ever how do i deal with this" and one of your videos came up. I watched like 7 of your vids in a row (I know, exam tomorrow and everything) and your vibe and just the way you think and the way you get everything across just uplifted me so much dude. Like, we always think we're alone out here struggling, especially when we're surrounded with people who are doing well. Just watching that video about how to deal with failing a course and how to do better, and reading all these comments about people who failed or came close to failing makes us feel so okay. I've been struggling with mental illness all my life. I have ADD, anxiety disorder, insomnia, I went through a depression for like 3 years and sometimes experience relapses, and most of all that is genetic dude like I was born with this stuff. Expectations are always so high and like, the world can be so ugly.
Idc how creepy or weird I'm sounding right now because dude you really helped me get out of a dark spot I've been in, on and off for like a month straight. And before this gets way too long basically what I'm thinking rn is I wish I had a friend like you.

I agree 150% with this. I'm constantly trying to strike the balance between creating good content for my readers and silencing the voice in my head that says I should be doing more, that no one cares that I'm tired, that I should constantly be killing myself to do the most. And I really respect you as an artist for taking a stand and saying this. So many of us take years to realise that it's okay not to be on all the time. So shout out to you ❤ And I think it proves just how bomb your content is that I still watch and rewatch your old stuff now. Quality over quantity 👌🏼

I love this! As someone who is slowly creeping towards 40 y.o., this spoke just as much to how I feel as a content consumer. The same way you take breaks from creating, I take breaks from watching a particular vlogger. It’s not the end of the world to me if I don’t catch every upload, every livestream, every new... whatever... in real time. I’m okay with not discovering a song until it’s 8 months old. I don’t feel obligated to watch entire seasons of a show in one weekend. Etc, etc. I agree we all - both creators and consumers - need to seek healthy balances between our digital and analog lives. So, keep doin’ you, sis. See you somewhere on the internets. ✊🏽

Our expectation of having entertainment on demand, non-stop, and for free is actually so true, especially for me. If a Yter misses one day of uploading then it actually throws off my day a little and Netflix has made it so that waiting a week for a show is unfathomable. If I'm not getting a 5 second timer going to the next episode at the end of the last I'm actually quite confused.
I love that you are talking about this. As a tiny creator, I spend time juggling the ideas that I want to express while feeling guilty if I miss a day. It makes me feel better knowing that much bigger creators feel that way too. You have great content and a computer should not dictate when or how you post it. Thanks for this message.

Beautifully explained Evelyn! It took 8 years but I started my channel simply because I enjoyed creating videos. I fell into the trap of creating lack-luster videos (which I was not proud of) simply to pump out content. Creating videos, EDITING THE CLIPS (THIS TAKES SO MUCH TIME OMG) and putting your personal artwork out there is not easy. AT ALL, especially when you everybody is trying to tell you what to do. It can only be done by the few. I was looking for a sign as to which direction to take my channel and this video cleared everything up. Thank you Evelyn. I'll see you out in the internet.
