Saw this at the San Diego film festival on Saturday. It’s a true masterpiece. Really funny and unique. Cage needs an Oscar for this.

@@Manbehindtheslaugther It may be disturbing to some I don’t want to spoil why though. It wasn’t very disturbing in my opinion and I can’t handle horror at all but again I think it just more people being uncomfortable but there is nothing super scary I would say it’s wayyy more of a comedy.

This may be hyperbolic but I feel this has potential to be Nicolas Cage’s greatest performance. I’m just so excited to see him perform a more subtle style of his work, in recent years it feels like productions (even great ones) have been utilizing his more bombastic range. I just love his work so much it’s exciting to see him attached to such a compelling looking piece.
What about Pig? He was great in it.

I agree. This movie gave him justice. He sure act for sure but his talent was not justified for some time. This movie is funny i mean ridiculously funny. And surly it was intense also. I love him alot

How is it different from Beau is Afraid?
@@newyyykkll tbh I haven’t seen Beau is afraid but the film itself (Dream Scenario) really tackles the idea of what happens when we as a collective decide something is true when it doesn’t even occur in reality. There’s a anecdote Paul makes earlier in the film about zebras that could also allude to the filmmakers wanting to talk about exposure and fame and how that can also completely upend people’s lives but I don’t wanna spoil anything ;) trust me it’s well worth the watch
@@newyyykkllI’ve watched Beau is Afraid. I’m pretty sure it’s about controlling parents and would be entirely different to what Dream Scenario is trying to do.

I am sorry.
One of the very few ‘stupid’ memes I had in my burner phone at the time was a poor photoshop troll of women.
I was getting death threats that were specific with words chosen, date, time, method, pre-death torture, etc.
I needed to deflect to get to safety.

If Nic Cage never gets to portray Jack Torrence in a new adaptation of The Shining this world will have missed a golden opportunity.

A24 was granted exemptions for all of its films because the studio agreed to the terms put forth by SAG-AFTRA. The major studios (AMPTP) have refused those terms, so they remain affected by the strike.

@@peacorptv6502it weirdly felt like a movie I’d seen before, but was also quite forgettable. (But I also saw it the weekend after Everything Everywhere All At Once which had consumed my brain and I was disappointed we were watching Unbearable Weight instead of EEAAO for a second time…)
