    I know it sounds cool but am i the only one who thinks "giant map full of iconic COD map locations" is code for "shit we need to come up with something quick so let's just use old assets and mash them together so we don't have to spend as much time developing something new"?

      Dragoonsoul7878 I understand your points. I don't believe the map will just be stitched together old maps. There will probably be some effort put into the spots between those areas. It's just with what we know about cancelling single player and throwing a battle royale style mode to take it's place it feels like this was the only way they could get it ready for this game in the timeframe they had. I doubt if the studio wanted a battle royale mode from the start and it wasn't rushed the map wouldn't be designed like this or at least this would have been a bonus stage for the mode instead of the opening salvo.

      Not only that, but the multiplayer in general seems like they just used old assets: same animations, 4 of the release maps are remastered maps that were also released on BO3, exact same announcer sound clips from BO3, it just feels like they didn't care much. This game just feels like a cash grab to me. There's so many red flags I have with it.

    Been waiting for you to cover this Ace, in my opinion, I love Call of Duty so I’ll definitely play it a ton but for blackout to rise up to the level of Fortnite, Pubg, and H1Z1, it’s gotta have a number count of somewhere near 100, people go for kill records on all 3 of those games and people won’t be able to with only 60ish people. It might also be really easy to get wins if you’re pretty good at Call of Duty because there won’t be as many people.
    Edit: that gameplay in the background was crazy, you’re nice with the dual revolvers

      I think it all depends on the game play because you could make say 64 a viable option so long as there is the right amount of action. If you run around for 5 mins to find someone then no but it could work at 64+ but less than 64 I think would be catastrophic for this mode. I think they need 64 to 75 at least with of course 100 being the holy grail

      I agree, especially when games like Fortnite are already fast paced and arcadey. So with Fortnite or PUBG, having an amazing game means you got 10+ kills, which is around 10% of the playerbase per match. So if you think about it in those terms, it means going on a tear in Blackout will mean getting around 6 kills. But either way, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    If it has a spawn in a random spot system then this mode will fail spectacularly. Choosing where to land is an integral part of the battle royale genre and taking that away would remove any tactics to the early part of the game.

      My Name Is Irrelevant. Not really cause there's already a cod br mode in china and people are downloading and playing it who don't evan speak the language. I honestly think this shit will blow up however I personally don't care about br period. I don't like fortnite or any other iteration I've seen but with that said I will be giving this one a try simply because I'm buying the game for ZOMBIES but in order for me to feel I'm getting my money's worth I have to try it and I really hope it's good so I'll have more to play. 😁

    I'd much rather choose where i drop into the map, be able to see where other players are dropping and how many so u have an idea where to rotate..it would suck being forced to spawn in areas u don't like or being forced to land into either a hot zone or the outskirts of the map..giving players this choice adds another level of tactical play for different styles for different types of players

    If COD was on the Unreal engine 4 like Fortnite and other BR’s everything would be so much easier to update and servers would be better and be able to support more players

      Minhtfresh 319 Yes. Singularity by Raven Software was made on Unreal Engine 3 so I'm sure Blackout can be made on UE4. It's possible for a single game to run on two engines. Medal of Honour 2010 single-player had Unreal Engine 3 and the multiplayer mode ran on Frostbite

      Activision isn't gonna pay Epic to use their engine. The CoD engine is pretty much running on life support and they'll continue using it until the last CoD

    Mixture for the attachments, sights, suppressors and ammo (high cal & armor piercing) should be found while stocks, grips and magazines are rarity based.

      Lenny Ynnel I'm kinda new to gaming and COD (used to game 20 odd years ago). What fps would you recomnend as being on the cutting edge if COD is struggling?

      Delamthedestroyer This is more single-player focused but I adore the Far Cry series (except Primal) and Killing Floor 2. I also love Battlefield 4 and there are servers with Domination and Team Deathmatch with 20 players. The 64-player-conquest is still the most popular but it can go on for quite a while so if you only want a quick match, play Domination and Team Deathmatch which take around 15 minutes.

      Kakarot901 I like the weapon mechanics, TTK, and customization better in Bf4, but I'd take Bf3 maps over the ones in Bf4 any day. Only map I really like in Bf4 is Siege of Shanghai. Bf3 Rush was downright amazing. The map designs in Bf4 just doesn't come close to making Rush in it good and doesn't come close to how amazing the mode was in 3 thanks its map design.

    No question it needs to be parachute in and random, also with weapons I like having different weapons with built in attachments based on how rare it is although it could be neat to customize your weapons.

    I feel like everything was a last minute thing by activision. They barley have the map finished, the vehicles aren't even done though it isn't a priority and they only have a few months left. Even multiplayer doesn't feel right. I think it was originally suppose to have the advanced movement but then they had way to make flak for having to many games with it. People that have played multiplayer say the maps have areas where the advanced movement just felt right on those areas but with boots on the ground it felt really awkward and a bit slow at times.

    The best option would be that common guns have only one slot for attachment, rare two, epic four and go on, and attachments would be scavengable

    RE: the game being ready by launch... this is EXACTLY what I posted a week or so ago. Got plenty of responses saying I was crazy.
    And I would prefer the simplistic approach of having tiered weapons with pre-determined attachments. I feel customizing attachments would be too cumbersome with a controller. Also definitely prefer parachuting.

    Parachute in or choose your spawn before the match starts and you spawn within a certain distance of that spawn according to the amount of players that chose that area.

    That isn't how COD online works. If it's a similar mechanic, then it would bring up a full scale map and you choose your spawn point from a list, and then you're spawned in the general area of what you chose. In some ways, just imagine that there was a seraph tac insert at every main location on the map and you get to choose which one to spawn at

    My concern here is that Blackout seems far away still from being serviceable so how much time will be going into that instead of going into multiplayer? With how much multiplayer has needed to change and with how much development Blackout still has, I'm not sure the game as a whole will be ready by release. This news is just another red flag that's going on my board for Black Ops 4.

    Might be interesting if there were weapon rarities that came with attachments like steady aim and QuickDraw and then you had to scavenge attachments like scopes and suppressors

    From the beta announcement, we can understand that Blackout is nowhere near to being ready cause if it was then they wouldn't have said any vauge time for the BO beta like they did.

    I think parachuting in to your location for Blackout would be better. I also feel like Trryarc could port assets from previous games for sea and air vehicles.

    i’d prefer scavenging for attachments rather than rarity because rare weapons with armor piercing wouldn’t be too satisfying to die to. i think they should adopt the system from the old extinction modes when it comes to attachments and armor piercing rounds would be the most rare attachment if they straight up disregard armor. when it comes to spawning i was thinking along the lines of actually choosing where you want to drop and literally just spawning in. i like the parachuting better but they’d have to make it more user friendly than operation supercharge where you have to sprint to move the parachute

    I kinda wanna see the "circle" that closes around the map be the "Numbers" that Mason sees in the BO1 and BO2 campaign. As you stand in them, you lose health, and the number of health you lose (afflicted by the numbers, not falling or players or something), you lose the ability to do something, for example, if you loose 50 health to the storm you can't switch weapons or something. Just my opinion, but it would make the game unique and interesting!

    What if they let you choose if you want to parachute in or spawn randomly? Spawning in allows you to get a little heads up by starting on the ground but parachuting in gives you the advantage of choosing where you want to drop.

    1 thing that no one understands is that cod onlines spawn system isn't random u choose a place with a marker and u spawn there but there isn't this type of animation of sky diving that's it and they will have more memory by doing this and they can add more stuff and make the game smoother

    CoD online br spawns are not random but it has a weird spawn, you put a mark on the map (that even the enemy can see for some reason...) and when the game start you spawn from wher you clicked (you pop un from underground trough a tube or something)

    COD Online BR spawns aren't random.
    You can pick where ever you want to spawn just by choosing it at the start of the game from a large map.

    They should put pack a punch in and to pack a punch you have to collect blood from enemies you killed to access it. Stick it in the middle of nuketown on its own island

    I think they should do a thing where they like combine both like if they do something like where the lobby you can choose where u wanna go like what town or place an just randomly go into a spot in that town or place or like if they get raised from underground to a random spot of an a good radius of where they chose to go

    With weapon scavenging, I feel like simplicity is great, especially for a game like Cod, since it's a simple shooter. However, my experience with CoD Online's battle royale, I feel like scavenging for attachments and perks would be great. It'd bring a good amount of immersion and diversity

    Scavenging for attachments would be better as long as they can make a smooth UI for it, to keep gameplay easy and nice.

    For attachments, if they do the rarity attachment system, then they should have distinct camos for different types of rarities. That way, other players can know what they’re going up against. However, being a fan of PUBG, I would prefer the looting attachments system instead.
    And we better be able to parachute (or any other gimmick) that lets us choose where we want to land. It adds depth, strategy, and it’s just cooler.

    I feel a combination of rarity variants with attachments would work best. Have things like Extended Mag, Grip, Fore Grip, Advanced rifling, etc be attached to the variants and then have things like Scopes, FMJ, etc. to be mods you can pick up and each variant can have the slots for those mods regardless of rarity.
    Also Parachute all the way! they already introduced the parachuting into the most current COD WWII War mode so why not just go with what has already been tested in COD. besides parachuting is kind of indigenous to BR mode.

    For your next pick my class you should use infantry w bren equipped with a reflex sight extended mag QuickDraw and rapid fire secondary use a 1911 with extended mags and knife hunker is the training and lethal is sticky tactical is gas

    I think they should have both rarity weapons and attachments. but what come on the rarity weapons can't be looted attachments. As for the the spawn in system, coming in by air is a must! just because you get so much from it. You get to scout the land, see how many players a dropping in and the choice between high and low traffic areas it a big part of a BR mode.

    Gotta have some control where you spawn I think. Somebody, somewhere, will get shafted by a forced spawn and die early on as a result. With a choice you can atleast say you made a bad decision if you die right off the start.

    If they go with the spawning in system they should at least let your choose where on the map you would like to spawn, this way they wouldn’t need to parachute in and the player spawns where they want

    What an absolute fiasco. First, they're told to scrap the campaign "because it won't be finished on time" and make a shitty BR mode to replace it. Now they're struggling to finish the BR on time. Even MP was rushed. Basically Zombies is the only gamemode that's not looking to fail hard.

    I wanna wash up on the shore navy seal style when I spawn in. Hoping for multiple game modes within blackout personally because BR only might have me playing zombies and tdm only. Ijs

    My opinion is to have both for the beginning of the map.
    why have the wasteful time of parachuting...when you can just pick a place to SPAWN in the lobby before the game.
    this way you get into the action as soon as the game starts.

    ill-informed. In CoD Online BR you CHOOSE your own spawn and you can see where other players have chosen, which means it saves you 2 minutes riding the bus or gliding in the air doing absolutely nothing.

    Personally I would rather have to scavenge for attachments, and the "rarity" factor be in the type of gun. Simply because I would like to choose my attachments, rather than have them chosen for me.

    I honestly am just glad it's treyarch and not any of the other developers that are doing this first. They haven't put out a cod I didn't like, and I just feel like they understand their player base better and know what's actually fun. I don't think we should worry too much about the details ATM.     hey Ace, I'm wondering how is the hipfire spread of your dual pistol so small? Apparently you don't have steady aim cuz you can't have attachments with cavalry? Or is it just something unique to enfield 2?

    I'd prefer to find attachments vice just getting the "uncommon" variant which always has quickdraw, and hunting for the "rare" drop to get the grip and ext mags and the legendary to get a silencer...etc, etc. But then again, unless Treyarch and Activision change their tune with the DLC model, I won't have to worry about BLOPSIIII because I won't be buying it.

    IMO...
    we definitely need to drop in so we can see where others are dropping in that's half the fun of a BR game and spawns are too easy to learn over time..

    weapons should have sights and suppressors be "lootable" so we can have choice over how we use the weapon but grips, stocks, High cal, long barrel and mag capacity be variant based..
    really hoping im wrong b/c i want to love Blackout but really its looking like a rush job and I have no confidence that it will be ready for launch if they haven't even got working vehicles yet..

    The issue here is that, The game is hyping one thing but is going to be launching something different. I say this because we are about to enter their version their rip of the BR games that have set the tone for this market. The obvious is that if we have to scavenge then random spawn has to be out the door, It wont fit the game. If you have a load out then it is a little different, then you search for upgrades and mods. The drop in is the way to go it will raise the game play on 2 important areas. 1 is the obvious, the bigger and more frequently traveled to will have the bigger and better supplies and then the sprinkling on the outskirts. I would like to think like in PUBG, would make sense. This will also cause imminent confrontations and fire fights upon landing. Noobs beware. The 2nd point is the vehicles we are starting to hear about the short comings of this and to navigate these maps on timers is pretty rough if you don't know what your looking for and where to look for them. I am a PUBG noob like the game but suck at it. Cant drop the hot zones because I am not just there yet. So vehicle accessibility is going to be key and what kind of variations will we have. I hope BO4 gets this right this could be the biggest step this title ever takes. Good Luck guys see you on Beta.

    I don't think Blackout will come at launch. I have a feeling it'll be ready around Dec or Jan.

    They shouldn’t do set spawn because for example if fortnite had set spawn then the couple of people that were placed in tilted towers or retail row would get better loot than the person the that is forced into tomato town and only gets two guns.

    With COD, the game is always unfinished at launch, and getting worse at being unfinished each year. I have high hopes for Blackout mode but feel like it will disappoint and after a few weeks I'll be going back to TDM. As for drop location, I hope you get to choose via a parachute drop. Also generic attachments based on rarity is a must. No searching around for attachments!

      Same fuck battle royal sick of it all RUclips is full of fortnight cocksuckers nowadays I've unsubbed to so many because they've all sold out to fortshite it like some child's game to me I just don't see what all the fuss is about its vile if you ask me sooner it's all killed off the better me thinks.     My biggest concerns are the fact that they are “working” on building up the amount of players and the vehicles ... this tells me that they are far from having a finished game... and it’s obvious that they haven’t been working on this game until after the fact that fornite got famous which was about the end of 2017 ... also you said before about 60 players and how you were ok with it, cause the payers go down to that number as soon as it stars well let’s say we start with 50 which is what is leaked so far on a map as big as Fortnite ... that means we may have only 25 players for the entire game.. that will super boring

      Same brother I'm not interested in the slightest about blackout but tbh I'm not even getting bo4 didn't play bo3 and its near enough the same apart from jet packs so going to give it a miss. But agreed about battle royal doesn't interest me hate it bud. Respect

    I guess Treyarch won't deliver a proper experience on release-day - they're running out of time and the game will have to be patched a lot to work. I don't think people preordering the game don't do themselvers a favour.
