We need a COD BR that's actually good, Blackout had some good concepts but has way too many healing items, perks, and weird equipment/weapons that complicate the gameplay. We need something SIMPLE yet full of content.

I agree with you Ace, I wouldn't want to see a blackout mode come out with Modern Warfare because that would probably mean the other aspects of the game are going to get neglected again, practically multiplayer. I also think it would be more beneficial for Activison if they just focused on improving the already existing blackout instead of trying to develope some sort of new one. Again I don't care much for battle royal, but some people do. As long as the game doesnt suffer as a whole this time around, I'd say keeping blackout going is fine just make it its own separate entity.
I don't mind at all if there is a Battle Royale mode. Blackout was fun. They just have to balance it, make sure the people who play Multiplayer are looked after just as much as the Battle Royale players. Also, they literally NEED to copy the same formula as Alcatraz, a small fast paced map with BR elements. Alcatraz is one of the best things to happen to Call Of Duty in ages. I think smaller, fast paced BR could be Call Of Duty's place in the oversaturated market, because most BR maps are huge. Go small or go home could be the motto for success here.
If it does happen, I think they could pull off a better map than Blackout's main map. With most of MW series happening in the same time frame, it would be easier to have more iconic map locations that naturally flowed together. Like for example on the southern side of the map you could have a large island with a full sized Terminal, Scrapyard, and Aground, have a short bridge to the mainland. Go hard East to end up in a desert like location with Rust, Dome, and Carbon all in the mix. West would take you towards a city where you have locations like Highrise, Hardhat, Skidrow, and Arkaden Mall (Make the map border be the water from the south wrapping up and around the entire West side, include the large bridge from MW2's Spec Ops mode and have it destroyed part way along). Far North would turn into woods with locations like Estate (campaign/spec ops version), Trailer Park, Overgrown, and Derail. Don't think it will happen (maybe more hope it won't happen). But the map has more potential.
Highly doubt that 5-6 months prior to launch, Infinity Ward decided to make a BR that's three times as ambitious as Blackout. Remember that Treyarch had 9 months to develop Blackout after they scrapped the campaign. Now apparently IW is making one that's three times as ambitious with 4 months left while not scrapping anything else? Yeah right lol Here's some other key points about "MW Battle Royale": 150-200 players 2-3 times the size as Blackout 10 vehicles including a heli, APC, and tank Revive system where you have to carry your dead teammates to an ambulance and then drive them to a hospital (WTF) Healing and Armor system like PUBG (going against the consistency across all modes the devs have overstated) and zombies (which counters their reason that they decided to do Spec Ops instead of Zombies since zombies was too unreasonable for the MW franchise I mean, this sounds like a wish list. Maybe the devs that leaked it to TGR, Victor, etc decided to do some trolling to keep Modern Warfare in the headlines.

Extremely unlikely. If they were to add a BR to the new MW, it's much more likely that they would rehash Blackout, and make it backwards compatible with BO4 owners. "That sounds unlikely," you say? In that case, that should give you an even better understanding of just how unlikely it is that they'll add a BR mode to the upcoming CoD, because that is still more likely than the devs making a completely new one, especially this late into development.
I really hope there isnt a BR... especially if its taking up energy or resources from the main modes that im MUCH more interested in... I dont like what CoD has become with dabbing, doing the dougie, and dressing in golden suits of armor while shooting your glowing pink gun, and sliding around... Im happy theyre focusing a bit more on realism in this, like the older CoDs... and a BR to me would just cheapen that and make it corny and bring a bit closer to the more recently cheesey CoDs...
I, for one, think that MP and campaign are the useless modes that keep the BR from reaching its full potential. Campaign is a few hours long and too easy to be entertaining. MP is just small maps with no real strategy, just quick scoping down alleys and hallways. BR is the only mode that offers any excitement, but a lot of people refuse to progress.
Imo they should take the resources that might go into their own BR and just collaborate with 3arc or whoever and keep blackout going and just change the theme. Bo4 MP will be a graveyard once MW comes out, there is little replay ability now no 1 is gonna stay on bo4 once MW drops.
They need to get back to the main focus of CoD and thats the Multiplayer side of things. We've seen what happens when a CoD Dev puts focus away from it and thats what we've gotten in BO4. Theres no way they can keep MP and BR going side by side within the same recent game, they're not equipped to do it as we've seen. If they do add in a BR mode, its certainly a no buy from me. I'm already on the fence with CoD after the last few years and that would just be the tipping point from me giving up the franchise. They'd show that they are stuck focusing on popular trends in gaming and not what the more dedicated fans of the core CoD feel enjoy.
It's a tough call. Battle Royal players will not buy the new game and keep playing blackout. Maybe its included but an updated version blackout. Activision owns it anyway so the frame work is there to add to it in the 5 to 6 month development time. Tone down the colors and add in the character skins.
I want the focus of the team to hit campaign and MP....if they added a Blackout style mode a little while later, I'd be ok with it, but it'd be odd for Activision to cannibalize Blackout for it.

Extremely unlikely. If they were to add a BR to the new MW, it's much more likely that they would rehash Blackout, and make it backwards compatible with BO4 owners.
"That sounds unlikely," you say? In that case, that should give you an even better understanding of just how unlikely it is that they'll add a BR mode to the upcoming CoD, because that is still more likely than the devs making a completely new one, especially this late into development.

I really hope there isnt a BR... especially if its taking up energy or resources from the main modes that im MUCH more interested in... I dont like what CoD has become with dabbing, doing the dougie, and dressing in golden suits of armor while shooting your glowing pink gun, and sliding around... Im happy theyre focusing a bit more on realism in this, like the older CoDs... and a BR to me would just cheapen that and make it corny and bring a bit closer to the more recently cheesey CoDs...
Add it or I don't buy it. Cod mp is played out after years and years of literally the same maps.

After playing Blackout, I won't go back to multiplayer. No BR in BO4 then I won't buy BO4.

I, for one, think that MP and campaign are the useless modes that keep the BR from reaching its full potential. Campaign is a few hours long and too easy to be entertaining. MP is just small maps with no real strategy, just quick scoping down alleys and hallways. BR is the only mode that offers any excitement, but a lot of people refuse to progress.

Imo they should take the resources that might go into their own BR and just collaborate with 3arc or whoever and keep blackout going and just change the theme. Bo4 MP will be a graveyard once MW comes out, there is little replay ability now no 1 is gonna stay on bo4 once MW drops.
I wonder if they are going to bundle blackout into it?
They need to get back to the main focus of CoD and thats the Multiplayer side of things. We've seen what happens when a CoD Dev puts focus away from it and thats what we've gotten in BO4. Theres no way they can keep MP and BR going side by side within the same recent game, they're not equipped to do it as we've seen. If they do add in a BR mode, its certainly a no buy from me. I'm already on the fence with CoD after the last few years and that would just be the tipping point from me giving up the franchise. They'd show that they are stuck focusing on popular trends in gaming and not what the more dedicated fans of the core CoD feel enjoy.

It's a tough call. Battle Royal players will not buy the new game and keep playing blackout. Maybe its included but an updated version blackout. Activision owns it anyway so the frame work is there to add to it in the 5 to 6 month development time. Tone down the colors and add in the character skins.
There has to be a Battle Royale. Would be dumb not to have it.

All I usually play is blackout. Nothing wrong with battle royale. People should just play what they want to play.
I want the focus of the team to hit campaign and MP....if they added a Blackout style mode a little while later, I'd be ok with it, but it'd be odd for Activision to cannibalize Blackout for it.

I doubt BR would be in Modern Warfare, as it's Treyarchs baby, though I do see it going out as a solo game. Maybe free to play, but knowing InActivision, it's going to cost something....
