I believe you can use a wax ring instead of the gasket, to create a water-tight seal

You can even use foam rings stacked, this is what my plumber does with silicone and stacks foam

My flange was 3/4” below the tile floor. Major problem, because the wax seal failed. This system extended the flange and fixed it right up!

I always wonder about the reduced diameter of this product restricting the flush ....
I mean you're down from 3 to 2 inches .... Most toilet horns are about 2 1/8" +/- diameter, so basically it would be extending about 3 more inches of that into the pipe...
Would that be a restriction when using a full 1.6 gal. Flush ???

Right your just extending your toilet horn a few inches by using this flange so you have no loss in volume, as far as what he says about one spacer being tighter to the pipe sealing better….sealing is not the job of a spacer, your wax seal does that and will be more than sufficient for either spacer.

Your solution doesn't leave a place to install the T-bolts. The red spacer has no keyholes for them. What?

Is that really necessary? Won't the wax ring create a good seal? I just finished my bathroom and have a 1/4 inch lip of tile around the toilet opening, but I also have a metal ring for the toilet slot bolts around the PVC pipe opening. I have no idea if I can remove it. I also found out when I removed my old toilet, the wax ring was crushed on install 30 years ago, and it had oozed in my opening about a quarter of an inch.

The wax ring is meant to be crushed on install, if it lasted 30 yrs, it worked, lol

How do you bolt the toilet to the floor? You covered the flange bolt slots with the spacer.

I didn't use this product. I was just using it to try to explain how you can use a spacer to extend the flange. The other product gets siliconed and the slots match up with the existing flange and it comes with extended bolts

You put the bolts in first and set the red ring over top.

That's what I was about to write. The yellow gasket wouldve fit snug with the gasket you removed.
