Thank you so so so much for showing us how to change colors within the same row of mosaic crochet. There is literally no other video showing how to have multiple colors in one row of mosaic crochet. Also thank you for showing the back of your work. It helps to show that the main color of the row is carried along the stitches when not in use.
This was so helpful. I'm only just starting my first mosaic crochet prochect and really wanted to add a third color, but only in certain spots. I had about given up on the idea until I watched your video. I even love that you didn't edit out your "mistakes" but showed us how to fix them. I will now try to incorporate your method into the practice piece I'm making. Thank you for making this video.
I always wondered how multi colours on the same row was done. Thank you for such a good explanation. I fold as well makes for easy access to the front loop. Hard to follow if we can’t see what you are doing. Pays to put a line or dot on your table or background that you need to cover so your crochet is in the right position to be captured by the camera. Or even a strip of yarn in a contrasting colour.
I saw you struggling with picking up the front loops... a tip I picked up was to "fish" for those loops, as in, turn my hook slightly and pick up the loop with the actual hook instead of poking it through tip-first... (check out Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar's Mosaic Crochet tutorials/tips & tricks videos, it's where I picked up that trick)... and it really is easy and quick once you get use to it...
Thanks for subcribing! So from my understanding, tapestry crochet is all sc's and many times there are lots of other colors, whereas overlay mosaic is usually just 2 colors that alternate every other row, so this technique is incorporating a 2nd color within the row. That's my take on it, at least! :)
Why don't I see the single WHITE SQ. Sandwiched between all the PURPLE STITCHES?? on the row you keep pointing to... You keep saying the "Magenta" color... only I still don't see the single WHITE SQ. mixed in the purple row below ... ??? Please explain ..... BTW. I just bought all the OCEAN RELATED SQ.
hi there, thanks for the question but I'm not understanding your question, sorry about that. You can contact me on the email address listed on the patterns you bought for any questions & hopefully I can help you. :)
I use Excel to create my patterns. I have the Excel template on Etsy for others to use to create their own patterns, with a free sample version to test out on my blog page - cbirdcrochet.blogspot.com/2021/04/mosaic-crochet-chart-creator-template.html

You are very welcome! I was getting a few questions about it so I figured I'd put this out there & see if it helped! :)

Thanks - glad it could help you!! And yes, I figured that's such a common mistake that I should just keep it in! :)
This was very helpful, just about to begin my first multi color change. Thank you ❤

thanks, I sometimes do that, but with trying to film & crochet at the same time, I think the angle was making things particularly difficult, lol! :)
Please don't attack me! Is this not the same as Tapestry crochet? 🤔Ps Great Video!! Just subscribed!!! 🥰🧶
