Something I've been asked to do before: a 'timbre trill', which is essentially trilling but staying on the same pitch. In order to accomplish this I switched the side of the horn I was playing on, which allowed the note to fluctuate from the 'brighter' side of the Bb horn to the 'darker' sound of the F horn. It produced an egregiously out of tune (albeit interesting) effect!
I've used a bassoon reed before thru the horn. It sounds like a whale! Scott, can you please do a video on the Weber Concertino singing/harmony section? Maybe a whole video dedicated to its technique? Thanks
Ah yes, the French Hornsoon, lol. I have a few pieces I'm learning with multi-phonics coming up so I may be able to dive into it a little bit more! The Weber version is still one of the hardest renditions of multiphonic singing, so I'd need to re-learn it first
My favorite extended technique is existential dread. Usually you can pick it up after 5-6 years of horn playing.
Some overachievers get it in only 4 years!
