@@appledoreman Another 70s artist I admire is the great Herb Pedersen. A Bluegrass maestro and a banjo master. He rose to recognition in the late 60s as member of The Dillards. He was also a founding member of The Country Gazette and more prominently gained commercial success as member of Desert Rose Band in the 80s with companion and friend Chris Hillman. Herbs two solo albums for Epic in 1976/1977 are obscure but worth seeking out. Southwest from 1976 is a perfect album start to finish, more contemporary Soft Rock in style but enough of country and bluegrass to make it a winner.

I'm 72, and I've always loved BJ Thomas music. I will miss him dearly. God has him now, and he's singing, "Jesus On My Mind", in the heavenly choir. RIP B.J.THOMAS.

I always thought that BJ Thomas and Gene Cotton have two of the best voices in music. Just so smooth!

My first music love was BJ. Spinning a 45 of Rain Drops so much that when I broke it, my parents refused to buy me another one. This song also was a big part of a skinny half deaf kid finding his way.
B.J. RIP thanks for bringing some love to the world.

I love hearing the background on the composition of this song. Chips Moman was a legend. The song turned out to be an even bigger hit than Thomas' Raindrops.
