"Hi, I'm Jim Cantore and this is my cameraman Cringer. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my mighty microphone and shouted "by the power of Castle Grayskull, I have the power!!!"

We got 11 inches of snow in Johnstown, PA from that epic October storm. No thunder though, that was amazing!

I lived in Chicago when this Blizzard/ Thunder-Snow conditions went down and it was the WORST winter I’ve ever experienced. It was absolutely B R U T A L. The snow was so abundant that the city workers filled up entire parking lots with towering piles of snow that an army fleet of snowplows cleared from the streets and highways. The City of Chicago actually Shut Down cuz people were trapped in their homes and unable to get to work in cars, buses, trains or subway. It was the first time EVER that the city of Chicago was genuinely Overwhelmed by a winter Blizzard of Epic Proportions. Chicago has a well deserved reputation for Toughness and resilience but that particular Storm
Brought the Windy City to its’ knees.

I love his reaction to the Chicago storm, but what is with the Smart Car parked behind him, not the vehicle I'd want to have in a snowstorm.

I’ve seen thundersnow twice and the videos don’t adequately show just how cool it is.

Wednesday 3/12/2014, Winter Storm Vulcan was one of the most intense Blizzards/Snowstorms ever seen. Also the first time to experience a thundersnow. All happened in Buffalo NY.

Throughout my life I've probably witnessed and heard lightning and thunder during winter storms about 10 times, it's uncommon, but not extremely rare here in the snow belt of Lake Erie. But when it does happen it's kinda amazing, cause you know you're dealing with extreme convection. I don't blame him, Cantore is the man...you just don't wanna see him in your town, haha!
