Happy gaming everyone (other than Sony decision makers, I'm in a mood about Helldivers 2 rn 😅). Which is your favourite FPS counter?

I personally use FPS Monitor. Its UI isn't super user-friendly, but I like it for how well it does its job. No nonsense.

@@savvylayman that makes sense, FPS Monitor does seem pretty nice to me too 🙂 (weird UI aside lol!)

Dude the afterburner one is CONSTANTLY not popping up on my games. It's super annoying

@@Jakepf that's frustrating, it did seem a bit buggier than some of the rest to me 😞

i used a few that you listed, my favorite is the adrenaline one. super easy to use, modify. MSI ab is just uneccesarily complex and so hard to use. I feel like I'm coding to get what I want. have to do 1 million clicks before I get it to do what I want it to do. but and, it's like using Iphone.

Yeah I totally get that, Adrenaline does seem good. I totally get what you mean about afterburner being hard to configure. FPS Monitor is a bit like that tbh - it's a powerful software but also a PITA to set up sometimes 😞

what's the best to use for a really old system, like a 15 year old or 10yr old PC that doesn't use much resource like CPU or GPU to track fps

I still like FRAPS for that to be honest - it was designed for older systems and seemed to 'just work' even on older OSes, although granted I haven't tested FRAPS out on Windows XP recently (for example) 🙂

any of these show frame gen frames?

Good question... most certainly don't. You should try out FPS Monitor for free though - it can show loaaaads of different stats. It can show frame type or something and graphs of how the frames appear, so that might highlight frame gen. I haven't tried myself though, but FPS Monitor is probably the most powerful. Maybe others can chime in if they know of a different tool that works though 🤞
