ABOUT THIS VIDEO -
It is inexpensive and simple to connect your laptop to one or more external monitors if you have a sizable, permanent desk at your home or place of business. On the other hand, if you're on the go, a 27-inch monitor won't fit in your backpack or probably on a small hotel or coworking table. The best portable monitors can help with that.
The lowest portable monitors have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and range in size from 13.3 to 17 inches, while some might go as high as 4K and the most affordable versions might just have 1366 x 768. These monitors only weigh a few pounds, and most of them can be powered by the USB ports on your laptop, so you won't need to pack yet another power brick.
The majority of portable monitors are made for productivity work, giving your laptop a useful second screen that is frequently the same height as its built-in display. However, many also employ portable monitors, some of which can run at up to 144Hz, for console or PC gaming. Even one that uses HDMI can be connected to your Raspberry Pi.

Thanks for the Video! Your intro is way too loud btw^^
All of this is extra power necessary for laptops too sir can you tell me about any monitor that doesn't need extra power does the power come directly from the laptop
Please help me sir????
This isn't a worthwhile product review. You're just reading out the marketing info that anyone can view on the product page. Next to worthless.
Made by a.i.?
I think made by robot human
Exactly
I'll only listen to this accent if he reviews rainbows and lucky charms
All the tech buying videos that have no opinion one way or the other exist for the sole purpose of getting you to click on the link in the description so they get a cut from the sale. Whichever one you can afford makes them all equally great as far as they're concerned. I hate sifting through these wastes of time trying to find a video from someone who gives a **** that you get good value for your money.
I have the Gram +View, which at the time when I purchased it was actually quite expensive (380SGD). I'm happy with how lightweight it is and the pixel density is very good, it means UI bars take up less space on the screen. But other than that honestly it is kind of meh... it has no speakers, does not have a power pass/delivery feature and being thunderbolt only means it is not compatible with older laptops. I tried -- used a HDMI to C converter and it just doesn't work, it will only accept thunderbolt C-to-C connections like from the Gram, or Samsung phones, or Macbook. Gram +view will NOT cast Switch. It refuses to have anything to do with my older Asus laptops. It is a really nice screen overall but doesn't have much more than that, though I imagine for business people that's more than enough since they only need the pixel density and lightweightness anyway.
Also, Gram +View is not touch screen.
Thank you! I've been all over the interwebs trying to find feedback like this.
Did you end up finding the 'best' monitor?
@@arturocardona140 What's best is going to depend a lot on what the monitor will be used for.
If it's travelling/as a second screen, how lightweight and compact the product is are key considerations because airports, cafes, hotel rooms etc seldom have large tables. Preferably with wireless casting so there is less clutter on the desk. I found that 10 - 13" portable monitors with slim bezels are best on the go, any bigger and it's just clumsy in limited desk space situations.
If it's for business, FHD 15.6" screens are good enough for presentations and such. Also portable monitors nowadays offer portrait display which is great for financial reports/long excel spreadsheets and also forms.
And if it's for entertainment/gaming then speakers & HDMI would also be nice, but not necessary since bluetooth earphones/speakers can supply sound.
Recently my workplace switched from using standard 24" monitors to 15.6" portable monitors that are hooked up to a work laptop, because portable monitors take up less desk space and hence has less clutter. Still a dual-screen setup which my colleagues really liked.
I typically consider things like port selection, screen size, pixel density & price when choosing a monitor.
I work as an admin in retail. Hope that helps
Couldn't agree more - I've only had mine for 2 weeks and already looking for something with speakers and just better. People should avoid unless your expectations of the monitor are low.
best monitor 2024 but published 1 year ago... what a lie...
Next time add the UPERFECT to the review, awesome portable monitor and rather cheap considering the quality...
What I’m missing from most of those products is the stand so I can actually use it properly.
Looking down on you laptop all day is really annoying and quite unhealthy for you back and neck. That is why everybody uses monitors at home. Why would you want a portable monitor to sit right at the same height as your actual laptop with a similar size? Just use your laptop then.
A small and foldable magnetic stand, a portable keyboard plus mouse and you have an almost home-like setup on the go.
some portable monitors have vesa mounts, you can buy adjustable stands, they're $20
Bro, the Asus Strix XG17 is the best gaming monitor you can get as of August 2024. I know, because I have it and have been looking for an Oled version of this size with better specs, but are yet to exist. This also has an optional tripod, but you can also connect it with something that has a 1/4 inch screw like a camera tripod. In my case, I connected mine to a monitor arm.
U didn't mention body material. Metal or plastic ? I don't Like the feel of plastic ones they feel flimsy
Thanks for all the testing you did personally to verify all the BS you let out here!
when you can tell the people narrating the video haven't the first clue what they're talking about
I ran across your video after I purchased a ForHelp Portable screen .
I don't get how youtubers get any amount of views just by reading spec sheets.
I’ll tell you this the Ifoo portable touch screen monitor I got for $150 on Amazon is actually amazing. Bright and sleek design very surprised since its Chinese
Product link. 🙏🏻
Great vid thanks.I would have liked to see more that have tripod connectivity.
What, and how, can I use to connect an iPhone to a portable monitor?
0:04 can we talk about how he's moving the mouse
i travel alot as a trucker and what people dont understand is laptops are not good for traveling. all the movements of vehicles damage the interior parts of the laptop and reduce performance or life of laptop significantly.
tablets and phones are excellent for travel. however smaller screens suck even on ipad mini.
so my proposition is asking which portable monitors work with s21 galaxy phone or ipad mini 6. and how good can desktop like experience be?
one example is google docs on phone is cramped. if i plug in monitor will it mirror the cramped google docs to large screen or would i get full desktop looking google docs? this is the types of innovations i need.
Just saw your question and i wonder if you found the answer. As far as i know if you have samsung s21 galaxy phone (not FE edition) and Dex you can use external display, however i cant tell if phone will power up monitor by itself. Its possible to bring additional charger or battery with you alongside.
@@MacySpitfire today im figuring out how to return portsble monitor on amazon. im actually gonna probavly samsung s9 largest size tablet. its nice having a large screen. i barely use my ipad mini6 and im used to samsung and windows not apple.
but i bought mini6 too far back. ill main use it for its camera as alternate camera
my solution is just own a samsung s9 tablet.
im considering maybe 2 laptops cause my productivity is highest on laptop. they do file management at levels that ipads and phones dont do still. but traveling with 1 laptop lowers its life and performance it why i maybe want 2nd one for being at home.
still deciding kind of. but owning samssung s9 AND ipad mini6 feels a bit much. i just like having a full monitor especially if i am copying and pasting between 2 documents or webpages etc.
What is the best OLED portable monitor? What are the drawbacks of OLED portable monitors?
There practically laptop monitors so if they are oled made by lg or something they probably will be spot on maybe some glare from the cheap monitor panel cover
Are they usable for day trading from the phone ?
Great review
Why don’t you consider the problems that buyers consistently reported? This is hardly a balanced review but rather just sales pitches!
"Ahhhh! The Polynesian Spa!"
An error in your vid: my ASUS 17.3 ROG *IS* kept charged by USB-C, the same cable as for video, from my Surface Pro (powered) tablet. Set it up in the monitor's OSD menu.
My other remark is personal, why lug around a 15- or 16-incher when your PC is so close to that size. The Asus 17.3 fits in my carry-on luggage just fine.
Asus ROG and Arzopa are best. Other than that just get forhelp 15.6 inch for $100 less and same specs
Can Confirm ARZOPA is a good choice but : the monitor you'll get from them is a lottery!
Bought 2 last month ( one A1 Slim 14" and one A1 15.6" ) and the 15.6" inches is not as good as the 14" model !
I just got the MNN at $116 and it's actually great - and a full 5 stars so many agree - but because I like the portable size so much, I'm looking to return it for an upgrade - more expensive one - that has full color gamut and tripod connectivity.
@@123456787537can you explain why the 15.6 inch isn’t as good? I just bought one (unsure of the model though).
One of the best reviews I've seen this year! Very well done.
Have you actually used these devices? or are you just reading of their webpage??
I will now read your blog.
Were you compensated in any way by these reviews?
its all affiliate links yes.... so he basically just wants u to klick on one of the links and he will earn 3% of any product you are buying after that (even if its a washing machine)... i dont like this. I want people who recomend stuff to have use the products themself personally
@@sur.render251Then go and search for someone that is standing there with just one product and reviewing it. And your choice will be easier since they only have one monitor to review
Good luck finding a smaller RUclips channel that can afford to review 10 monitors. They will not have multiple monitors sent to them by another company as they aren't big enough channel. Plus, even if someone did have 5 or 10 monitors to review, they'll have affiliate links to each one of them. Why are you against someone making a living doing reviews if the review is legit? You must still walk everywhere, grow all of your food, wear paper sacks for pants and still cut bark off of trees for medicine. Why? Because any product that is made on this planet has people that will speak for the product even if it isn't as stellar as they claim it is.
Just a nonsensical comment on your part.
do we need to ad any external components like cpu? for this device ?
? Wdym? Are asking if they are computers no if you think so your an idiot. They are monitors. You need a computer which hopefully yours will have a cpu already in it.
why no mention of nits?
Asus doesn't even have mini hdmi out put to connect my fire stick amazon
Thanks for this topic:) Recently there have been portable OLED monitors at very affordable prices, such as from VievSonic, even Calman certified. I recently wanted to buy a BenqSW270C, but this year will be the year of OLED monitors, so it might be worth waiting. Also, a very popular TV from LG is the C2, which is very affordable but a bit big for a desk.
I need one that doesnt use my plaptop power that cant be good
i just got the rog strix 4090. it needs a lil baby like the rog in the video :) thanks!
give me something free, i dont want to work so give me your old monitor or gpu soon. i get what i want and will not work. do you need address to send it to me
@@ceff01 ok beggar
@@giorgio5789 you jack blyat bit bit. I haven't worked on 25 years and yes I want what I want now. He will send it me, I'm 48
If these are over £250 then better just getting a really decent monitor.
Wow, nothing screams "I don't know shit about tech" like mispronouncing both Linux and Raspberry PI. I think I'll get my recommendations from somewhere else.
what is a heighch-gmi port?
thats just BS. you just reading marketing nonsense without actually testing anything

Best product video
Brightest ?
Anyone can read specs. We need testing.
These do not have touchscreen which I think is what many want to transform a useless cheap desktop at work we are forced to use bc it’s part of an impenetrable network. I am only interested in touchscreen portable monitors. And now I want wireless touchscreen portable monitors. Pretty specific. I don’t care about the picture or sound. I just need to stop mouse clicking bc I’m getting carpel tunnel from incessant clicking. Can you review best wireless touchscreen portable monitors ?
Hey recently I found a workable solution is by using parsec with parsec virtual display adapter installed and use a tablet as a monitor with 5ghz wifi/hotspot.
You can either create the hotspot from the tablet or the monitor.
After you got everything done you should be able to use it at sub 10ms or even 5ms at 1080p or even 4k
I'm new to this Portable Monitor gadget. Could you help me choose or decide whether this is really required for me?
I'm about to study abroad and I have a Asus F15 (2021). I would like to have a big touch screen gadget and i was looking for 2 in 1 laptops. Then i came across this Portable Monitor.
My needs: Graphic design (Photoshop,Canva,Adobe), Motion graphics, Study (notes and stuff) and Gaming is last priority.
I would say its always useful to have one instead of not have one. But a 2 in 1 laptop might just be better for you
3:35 the amount of spelling errors in that code is shocking.
lol
Man, I’m a little weirder, so if someone can tell me which would look best to pair with a ps5 I’d appreciate it
What's your price range? You want something with higher htz
If you ask me android tablet were much cheaper and higher quality than monitor
you can take a look at the ARZOPA G1 1080p 144hz for $100.
The best is not even listed here:
Viewsonic 15.6 OLED 4k - "XV1655 4K" Version
can you use a portable monitor by itself?
......................the portable monitor slide scam beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is such a worthless review. it's basically just ads.
False. I leave this video right away with dislike.
