@@truedanbo Hey Danbo, thank you so much for your video, it is a brilliant tutorial but I have one big problem - my Elektron Model Samples and Cycles don't appear in my Windows 10 Sound Settings "Manage Sound Devices" section like you have shown in the beginning of your tutorial - can you please please help me with this, do you know why my Elektron Model devices aren't appearing in the Manage Sound Devices section on my Windows 10 HP Zbook laptop? Please help, thank you!!
Hello. So my problem is that i got everything set up like you did, the sound input/output device is focusrite usb audio, i enabled the model samples in the "Manage sound devices" section, but for me it is not listed as a Syntesizer in the output, but as a speaker: Speakers Elektron Model Samples, and in the input it is Digital Audio Interface Elektron Model Samples, anyway i enable them both as you did. I cannot hear a bloody sound when i press the pads unless i connect my headphones to the model samples headphone output directly. There is also the factory made loop pattern and when i trigger the play botton on Model Sample i can see the pads are clearly being triggered but i cannot hear any sound with the usb connection. When i go to Audacity and setup as you did, when i hit the record botton, i can clearly see the sound waveform being recorded into Audacity live as i playback the loop on Model Samples (so indeed the sound arrives from model samples into my pc,), but i cannot hear any sound on my headphones while recording live or pressing any botton on model samples on the go, but when i stop the recording and I playback the recorded audio in Audacity, i can hear the sounds. I have windows 10, i updated everything, but still no sound with usb connection or through audio interface. The sound arrives into my pc, but for some it does not come into my headphones in live when i activate the pattern playback on model samples or when i jam around by pressing different pads. Do you have any idea what the fuck is happening?? There is no point doing this if i cannot hear what i am doing while jamming on my model samples in real time.
Hello, I'm looking for a video that shows how I can include a .wav library in the model cycles. First of all, is it possible to include samples and if so, how and in what format? If it does not include .wav and if syex, how do I transform .wav to syex. Greetings and thank you!!
Hi Giuseppe, as I showed in the video, it is in fact a sound card with output of its stereo sound which you can use in ableton or any other audio software to record sound directly from it.
not sure what keeps happening here... I go record it, I see it visually being recorded. I try to play it back, nothing plays. I try to save it and export it to wav. WAV doesn't play and the Ableton live project now says the clip is deactivated, whats going on :( lost two sessions already
You might not see this comment but I just tried to do this and when I do what you did in ableton it tells me that it failed to open the audio input device when I select model:samples as my audio input.
This is great! I really like your easy to understand tutorials. One problem with this: I can't get my Model:Samples' sound being played over the PC/Laptop's audio output. I did select this in Window's Sound Settings. It does record the sounds in Audacity though. I just can't hear the M:S playing when I hit its play button. Is there anything I need to change on the M:S as well?
In the Windows Sound setting Control Panel, select the Device, then Properties, and in there turn on ‘Listen to this Device’. Then it will play through your computer speakers or headphones
@Stefan van der Klooster Hello Stefan. I got my Model Samples yesterday and i got exactly the same problem like you, i did everything like in this tutorial, but i cannot hear the sound coming out of my pc output when i hit Model Samples play button or jam around on the pads, or while the audio is recorded into Audacity, but when i stop recording and i playback the recorded audio i can hear everything. Can you please tell me if you find a solution?
For some reason, when I select Model samples as audio input device, and my soundcard as output device, nothing happens, the recording can not start. Can you help please?

I think it's coming from usb as digital data, you might need to consider save it as wav/aiff format, and then like any samples gets recorded, load it again from disk and adjust its volumn as apporiate.
I don’t think it has a direct ASIO driver. Using common ASIO all in one driver to combine multiple audio interfaces is always a bit of pain in Windows and suffers from significant performance drop

Like Mr. Automatic said, it doesn't support multi-channel output. As a workaround, you can probably solo each track and record them individually... It's a bit annoying, but does the job. You can also try to move track one to completely left and track two completely right to record two tracks in one go. Hope that help!
