This is NOT "Something in the Wind!" but still charming and Deanna Durbin's singing is lovely! Her rendition of Figaro's "Largo Al Factotum" from "The Barber of Seville" is a delightful surprise!

Laughing at myself. I kept wondering how darling Donald O'Connor was going to fit in to this story. Pleasant movie anyway. And anything with Deanna Durbin is fine by me!!!

This wasn't a bad movie, but it's definitely not "Something In The WInd" which was one of my favorite movies to watch whenever it played on TV when I was a kid.

Deanna Durbin was a star in another upper stratosphere unlike all the others in Hollywood. At the same time she appealed to everyone. On the set she was LOVED BY CO STARS AND PRODUCTION FOLKS... flawless. The title switch is merely a means for us to view the movie before it's yanked.

Yes, both the name "Somethin in the Wind" and the description appear to be for some other movie or movies, but the movie you did put up ("For the Love of Mary") was a nice break from the WW II documentaries I"d been watching. I don't remember ever having seen it before, and it was refreshing to see that there was an opera singer who was wiling to play light comedy and sing opera all in the same work. NICE!

For Anyone interested, this movie is called ‘For the Love of Mary’; I suspect it inspired the (unspectacular) modern romantic-comedy ‘There’s Something About Mary’ - but wouldn’t swear to it.
This is cute and classic, with lots of unexpected twists and some great old-songs.

Just noticed the great Louise Beavers is in this! Love her! If she were alive today, perhaps she would get some meaty roles.
Well, Louise Beavers well knew that "there are no small roles, just small actors!!"!
@@louislamonte334 probably true. She did have a great role in Imitation of Life but she was relegated to playing the maid quite often while her white peers got the meaty roles.
They’re just on a date and she whips out a mustache, like ‘I’m glad you asked’ 😂.
That was a fun movie. Thank God there wasn't too much singing in it, which probably doesn't qualify it to be classified as a musical. But I was glad that the singing was kept in a minimum so that the story was more prominent. It was a bit madcap trying to keep track of who was who and that's what made it interesting, LOL.

Very different era, and storyline - but the restaurant-scene at the beginning of the film (and the relationship between all the JPs,…) remind Me a lot of ‘Return to Me’, a wonderful modern-classic!!!

Really disappointing! This is NOT "Something In the Wind"--the film I am looking for. It is instead "For the Love of Mary." It would be great if this were correctly labeled so that fans can find the movie they actually want to see.

This is a deliberate editing deceit, because the actual film that follows the opening credits is "For The Love Of Mary", with a completely different cast except for Ms Durbin.

Deanna Durbin was very talented.
If she didn't do the singing for this movie, it seems strange to me that she'd have been chosen for this role. She supposedly had a mature soprano voice from early on, and those singing parts did seem to have been sung by a soprano.
It is indeed her. Deanna Durbin had a strong, magnificent voice from a very young age.
Deanna Durbin had the finest soprano voice ever heard on film in Hollywood.
A Canadian her movies made all other movies from Universal possible. She eventually left the business and went to live in France. Doing no interviews. She was a star, with her impeccable singing voice, of the greatest magnitude in her day
