A beautiful movie . I wish more movies were made like this today - no gunfights - not a lot of explicit sex just deep love between 2 people. Women wore dresses and never be seen in ripped jeans and sloppy tee shirts. Men never wore jeans to go out on a date and took hi date to a diner not to a fast food for dinner. They were polite and kind and showed respect to each other. We'll never see those times again
@@thekrrib what's really funny that many may not know is if i recall if anyone has seen the Original Elm Street which was shot in (1983) if i'm not mistaken. the scene where Tina is killed where you have Freddy on the Ceiling dragging her body around they used the same exact way that Fred used for this film. i am going to take a guess and say that's where Wes even got the idea from he just made it far darker than it was 1st used for that's all.

Fred had a hangup about partners not being too tall, but Jane was under 5 ft. At times he looks as if he is dancing with his daughter, and not only bc of the age gap.
The video is squashed somehow and everyone looks short and squat. Shame, coz Fred Astaire is an amazing dancer, but the squashed format doesn't do him justice.
I love Fred Astaire movies, however this movie does not do anything for me. None of the four leading characters have any chemistry between them. Disappointing! The only thing worthwhile in this movie is his great dancing in the ceiling number.

This is one off my favorite old movies I love the dance's and the music, songs. Back those days the man were real gentleman.
I love classical movies especially those filmed back in the 30's , 40's and 50's decades of the XXth century ...simply marvellously beautiful.!
Such a petite, dear little lady. and such talent. Jane Powell, bless her.
I love watching this film. Aprox. every 3 months just for the dance numbers. To imagine they were filmed in 1 shot. Amazing discipline!!
I don't believe you. Not one take!
But I'll go with two takes.
In my case it would take ninety-seven takes, okay?
Yes my child the people where very discillplined and the men were true gentlemen..
