    Recently I was a participant in Allysia's CPP1 lessons. I think her comparison with individual (life) lessons is absolutely true. A personal teacher has the opportunity to correct the pupil on handtechnique, posture etc. But the quality and completeness of Allysia's course is (probably)hard to find in your own neighbourhood. Working together with other beginners is very stimulating. The struggle of group members are pretty much the same, and the supportive climate help you to go on and to persevere. Feedback of Allysia is always professional and supportive. She can hear every mistake but will only comment on the important ones. I'm rather proud that I could cope with the online forum, the musical terms in english and the recording and posting of my piano peaces.

    This is great, Allysa! I love how you go about affordability and still not claiming your courses substitute private lessons. We need options for everyone.

    Hi Allysia. This is Wonderful !! I wanted to say that I love your videos. You are amazing.
    Even though I have already received my RCM ARCT, Your videos are a pleasure to watch and as young adult ( 18 years old ) I learn a lot from you about the way of teaching and explaining things to aspiring musicians of all ages.
    Your students are fortunate they have an amazing teacher like you.
    Keep doing what you are doing.

    Just found you while rambling thru classical music on RUclips. Wow - you are as sparkling as a Chopin prelude and fresh as a spring breeze. I have a lot of catching up, so I am starting with your first videos and working up. I am an occasional piano player after taking lessons from 3rd thru 8th grade. In my sixties, after retirement, I have more time for piano. I will invest some of that time in you. God bless!

    Hey! Can you PLEASE make a video about my favorite piano composer Federico Mompou (1893-1987). His works are in RUclips and he was known for being a minimalist in his music. I’d love to hear your thoughts on his works and rankings based on difficulty

    I'm in the UK, what time are the zoom sessions? If the timings are incompatible, are the sessions recorded to make them available out of hours? Thanks in advance

    • @rhapsodyespagnole3193
      @rhapsodyespagnole3193 Год назад

      The times for the Zoom sessions are different for each of the 3 monthly sessions. All the feedback sessions are recorded so anyone who can't attend the live sessions or anyone who wants to see the feedback again can view them. The feedback sessions are immensely valuable since you can learn from feedback given to others as well as for your own recorded submissions. Learning to assess your own playing is such a valuable part of learning piano and the feedback sessions really help that happen!

      @@infernalmandolin Pacific Time meaning the feedback sessions may be as early as 5 a.m. or as late as 5 or 6 p.m. or me. Generally, I think at least one time per month should be at a good time for the UK and Central Europe. Times for Australia are more challenging.

    When does the course start? Registration is Feb 18-25. Does that mean the class starts the following week?

    • @rhapsodyespagnole3193
      @rhapsodyespagnole3193 Год назад +1

      Yes. Once you join (by Feb 25), there is an Orientation session via Zoom that day. If you can't make it live, a recording of it will be available. The Orientation will be very helpful and the written information on Getting Started will be, too.
      The Calendar shows that you should begin Lesson 1 on Sunday, Feb 26 and the live Feedback session for Lesson 1 will be 8 days later - the following Monday, March 6 - on Zoom.
      Shortly after you join the class, it would be helpful to post a Test Recording to get the hang of recording yourself, uploading the video to RUclips or another video service, and posting the link in the Forum. That way when the it's time to post your recording for the first Feedback session - Saturday March 4 or Sunday March 5 - you already know how to do it. :)

    Do you think the course can be completed by a working adult. I'm willing to try it.

    • @rhapsodyespagnole3193
      @rhapsodyespagnole3193 Год назад +1

      Yes! A large number of the people in the various CPP classes are working adults. There are also some retired people as well. One of the key things is consistency. Playing 30 minutes 5 times is week is much better than 2 hours on the weekend.

    • @jh_sports
      @jh_sports Год назад +2

      Yes, absolutely, just keep it consistent. 7x15 min across several days is better than 2 hours at once and then not touching the piano again until a week later. Consistent practice habits don't add up, they compound.
