You made the right choice Scott. I've been made to do a rush job trying to get the remaining holes dug, whilst doing the pour in a heavy downpour and it was terrible. Not to mention unsafe. So it's good to see you making a well considered decision.
Hey Scott! If you talk nicely to your local cable locating company (or vector) they will have locatable duct rods. They will push the rod down the vent and through the sewer, locating the rod as they go the same way that they could locate a cable. Great video man!
Wow, 150? Thats amazing, but not surprising! You have a good channel and i hope you keep creating.
Great vlog Scott, love being along on your journey learning and living thanks bro from Norfolk uk 👍🏻
Because of this channel, I’m now getting Makita tools. All the reviews and demos he does has convinced me. Was just debating on that exact chainsaw and I’m getting it now!
Great channel bro- learning so much! Thank you!
Excellent Scott; looking forward to the next episode. For future reference check out the Flex MSE systen by Gravitas, they use geofabric sand bags with spiked plastic grippers.
Love the vids my bro.
P.s. An electric fence standard works if you cut the leg of it off with a grinder.
nice saw man, hope you have the time to give a verdict on the thing. thanks for sharing the journey. take care. pete
I know how you feel, had one of those days this week on a new build. Things just weren't going right but we just need to suck it up and move on.
I think every chippy needs to build at least one retaining wall in their life it normally puts them off ever wanting to build another one.
Tony Clausen 😂😂
love your channel bro! always excited when when i get a notification about a new episode, keep up the awesome work homie✌️🇦🇺
Wow... I know it sounds weird but I rarely run into people that regularly still use the word "homie" like that. Weird too, because I assume you're from England and I'm from the Southern U.S. Mind if I ask your age?
“Bye Paneau” “bye Scott.....please come back” hahaha. We have all been there
JTGuzinski Hah, yea... totally been there.
Looks like a hole lot of fun!!
Like the channel I’m a builder in chch and regular chainsaw user. And as one I’d suggest u wear at least chain saw chaps and Safety glasses or visor. those we battery saws are great but love to eat batteries but keep up the good work
Hey Scott another great vid keep it up
As an electrician I have no need for a chainsaw.....However, I want a battery chain saw 😂
Sirens ringing, Guy at checkpoint looking skeptically at your car, you say "ok we got the material", did you steal them?
Cook Street Placemakers! A trip seeing my home town on your vids all from here in California bro. .
Love your channel so much
My new fav RUclipsr!! Maybe because I’m a carpenter myself... top class videos and editing 👏🏻👍🏼
I'm not a carpenter, and still watching Scott's cool videos. :)
Seen a chippy using a chainsaw for building hand cut roofs with. Best demo tool for ripping up decks, T+G boards etc. Cheers 👍
Happy 150 Bro
You should see ChuckE2009's video on the same chainsaw. Lets say it didn't end very well.... I love Makita but they gotta do some serious RnD on some of their new tools before they decide to sell them to the public.
Love youre Channe!!! 👍
Brawo Scott 👍👍👍👍
You rock men !
That was a proper saw, it chewed tough those beams like butter. by the way, was that THE guy at the place you got the materials? Looking forward to the next part. Cheers from Holland
Get RR Buildings to dig those holes. 😊
I work in frame and truss but I'm doing a carpentry apprenticeship witch makes it hard at tafe but on a lighter note I picked up some weekend and work with a builder (1st week) and I'm building a retaining wall
Desperately trying to think of reasons why I need that chainsaw. 😅
Black Tea One Sugar 😂
Because it's there mate.. don't know why that one kept stopping... mine doesn't lol..😀
Always get the biggest digger you can. I have the 18v and 36v Makita chainsaws and like them both. Looking forward to the conclusion.
Nice vids mate . I'm a bricky myself.
I have the makita corded, great chainsaw
Hey mate love your vids just wondering do u ask for the house owner permissions to film on there property or are they just cruises about it
In my country, after digging the holes, large diameter cardboard tubes are inserted into the hole, then round rebar construction is put inside this tube. After this, concrete is poured inside of the tubes and vibrated with dipping concrete vibrators
Do you put the treated timber into holes and then cover with concrete?
A chainsaw that you don't rev like a dirt bike is not a chainsaw. Haha. Great watch
Another one !!!! Go Scott Go
Was this filmed ages ago or was this just recent cause, im sure i heard "weathers not always great in MAY" But we are in june lol. But overall awsome vid scott.
Hey Scott, what size where those posts and they almost looked dressed....no???
Hey scott. Maybe you could do an episode on merchants like which one do you use and why and opinions experiences etc. What about mitre10 and bunnings as opposed to carters placys itm etc. I personally am with dayle ITM but looks like you are with placemakers, I went into placemakers with a carters beanie on once and they took it off me and gave me a pacemakers one haha that was at cook st. I'm a landscaper enjoy watching ur vids.
Watch out for that chainsaw kickback bro! No one likes a shredded leg
Chainsaw looked good . Wonder how long it took before it died out
Watching him buck made me nervous
When you have to wear gloves on some jobs what kind do you use?
Aye it's good of you to show when things don't go perfect as well Scott. I'm sure there's a happy ending to this story though :-)
So how does it work cost wise, having to get a bigger digger in?
That chainsaw is a great tool. Spend a day using one, it’s a great limber!
Interesting and frustrating!!
we live and learn you will know for next time
Don't get me wrong, i like the shots, but does it ever make you feel a bit weird closing a camera in a cupboard, just to open it again and take it out?
I'm a carpet layer in sydney with a soft spot for carpentry, tools and craftsmanship. O for awesome vids bro. Casey Neistat styles all the way.
What happend to the the video about pulling out your shelving and the mistakes you made? Saw it last night and went to watch it and it wouldn't play and now I can't find it?
Interested on your opinion about the 36v chainsaw makita has a pretty sweet promotional deal at the moment buy the skin for around $550 and get 2x 5.0 batterys and a dual charger free been contemplating it
jade miller isn't a 5 amp around 160 retail , ( New Zealand Currency)
Yeah I've seen them for about $180 but yeah I'm sure if you find the right deals
do you do work outside of Auckland??
Pretty similar to how EOD find Unexploded bombs underground, with an excavator and (we use) a non-metallic rod. A mistake for you is a $hitty time, for us we won't be around to know.....
Shoulda called a landscaper, hope this job's payin well bro
The Bob Ross of carpentry
Hahaha!!!
Just happy little mistakes.
Does it need Chain oil? Atb lovin the channel 👍
It was probably pinching.
It still needs chain oil.
cool man
Why you don’t use h5 pole 200mm ?
smashed the thousandth like.
How do you estimate a job like this?
And that is how you build experience.
May? It's June here mate. Is there a time warp Bro?
I'm trying talk like you and paerau. I'm using the words Bro, yeah and eh at the end of every sentence Bro. 😘
Definitely still May down here bro.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL June here in Yorkshire mate and it is 9 degrees. I'm crying.
@@shirazayub only 7 degrees here mind you it is the middle of winter and 6 in the morning and it doesn't really get any colder than that.
Tools & Stuff
It was 101 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday in the “Upper Left” Washington State USA.
As always Scott, another great video Bro, keep up the good work.
@@shirazayub We decided not to have june this year as may was humming along so sweetly.
Well lets watch
Mate your May rain is falling in the UK 🇬🇧 at the mow. It was 8c at 4 in the afternoon on Monday with 60mm of rain. It is our Bloody summer....
1:09 "Daaarnkingyou" 👋
At minute 1:07 the pinnacle in the center is used to collect energy from the aether or atmosphere...unused by the citizens...free energy...
I really hope you are kidding. It is a radio antenna on the top of the sky tower
Wonder how much usable power you can actually get from a lightning strike
Makita chainsaw- on my ‘to buy’ list
Mine too, if it's the DUC353Z there's currently a promotion to get 2x 5ah batteries and a dual rapid charger for free, if you purchase in June!
Paul Dekker from who
@@MsElijah16 Makita are running the promotion, you can find it on their site, just says from any "Makita Authorised Dealer" mitre 10 have them, probably ITM, Carter's etc
@@MsElijah16 Found it on thetoolshed dot co dot nz, they've got it for $550 includes free shipping (rrp is $600)
☺️👍👍👍🙂
Like butter
What is this? Journey to the centre of the earth?
That drill on the excavator will have saved you a lot of time. Imagine that you should have digged it by hand....
I guess you guys in New Zealand don’t have to call utility locators before you dig like here in the states. Man that’s a big fine here
Jomathan Mccoy you do if it’s not your land or there’s an easement on your land. This is just the sewer pipe for the house on the property. If you break it it just means an expensive repair job, no-one else is affected.
Over here phone lines and gas pipe sewer pipes cable tv can be anywhere even on people’s property so it’s law you have to except in situations like you are in the middle of no where lol of forgot water lines good thing I just do carpentry lmao
@@Jonathan-dm3ne everything in NZ is marked on local council land reports but older details can be a little vague, hence the hunt for this pipe here! They knew where it should be ish...
Still can't believe that you are going to use timber posts instead of galvanized steel beams with timber inserts in the flanges. Well that's my opinion.
Well done on the 150 episode
Theres nothing at all wrong with timber posts. They last 50 plus years.
Timber posts are still great and less hassle to setup than steel beams + cheaper
Thanks for your comments. It's amazing how every country has its own beliefs :)
@@tonyscerri6039 So true. I see retaining walls all over nz that are timber post and still in good condition over 50 years later.
Galvanised steel can fail just as well
i'd use gloves with a chainsaw mate ;) oh you did on the rest. although this is nice wood to use and not a tree :P
What’s she wearing gloves for
That’s some real expensive stuff in the kitchen.... Fisher P were bought by Chinese recently, right.
Your iPhone's made in China like most other things these days.
#plscomeback #chefpadeau
Stihl will always prevail. A chainsaw isn’t a chainsaw without the exhaust and smell of man behind it
This guy is a city boy
You can clearly see that is a retaining wall for a dairy farm.
dewalt chainsaw is much powerful
hey Alex you want to be a builder not you?
Borrows a tool and throws the blade cover 10 feet away.......all videod for owner to see.
At least he borrowed it from Makita and not a mate
@@azza1793 lol that's different
Stopped watching after "Scobbrown ear"
sounds like a cant do attitude to me mate
Bro the shocked face thing in the thumbnail is cringey as hell, I know youtubers use it to try get more views, your too cool for that shit.. dont take this the wrong way bro..
