    "Have lunch before you start." Best advise I have ever heard. Sleep in. Have the morning off....

    • @Roarwind
      @Roarwind 21 день назад +6

      Drink water is probably the best advice I've gotten. You can completely forget to stay hydrated by becoming hyper focused on the job

    • @defenda1
      @defenda1 21 день назад +3

      Yep. In winter it seems harder to stay hydrated... you're not sweating but your mind goes foggy.

      In Texas during the summer it’s the opposite, because the mornings are nice and cool… get up early, call it quits by 3pm, and drink plenty of water. Not all days work out that way.

    I'm definitely okay with seeing whatever you build because it's always fun and educational and just fun!!!!!! To watch you build and learn how you do it I'm a carpenter by trade out in Canada and primarily I was a framer I framed houses and I just started with a general contractor company everyday there's something new to learn it's not just framing sometimes it's pushing a broom sometimes it's actually helping other trades it's always fun it's always something new and so watching you and seeing how you do things is also really really fun

    One thing you find useful for protecting cast iron surfaces is magnetic sheet material. I’ve found it really helpful in my shop. I ordered a roll off Amazon and cut a little oversized. It protects the top from humidity but also if it’s being used as a work surface.

    Beautiful work. A bit of advice: when you are fastening your cabinet panels with the finish nail gun, if the nail bends and blows out of the panel, it almost always does so at a right angle to the long axis of the gun (the nails blow out sideways). Thus, you are much better off holding your gun perpendicular to the axis of the panel edge, so if there is a blowout, it will be in the edge direction and will not blow out of the the face of the panel (usually). I hope that makes sense.

    G,day Scott Brown Carpentry from Sydney Australia.
    Pro tips
    * Flat paint stirring sticks
    * For large buckets of paint, metal or plastic fan stirrers for cordless or power drill.
    *Cabinet construction: as well as nails, two 6# 1 1/2 inch posi drive screw. I like this method especially when transporting and lifting.
    * Turn your mulch piles every two weeks, and don't let them get "soggy wet"

    Definitely a good idea making your own furniture, you seriously can't find modern furniture that is real anymore, well unless you spend thousands, but furniture these days is mostly All fake, usually laminated particle board the better stuff is still veneered MDF.
    even if you made it using veneered plywood, you will be getting far better quality than what you pay thousands of dollars for at the retailer.

    The CNC doesn't really cut sheet goods any faster. It's the loading and unloading of materials that eats up the time. Using your track saw and table saw would be just as fast once you have the cutting diagrams for the sheet goods.

    • @andrewpritchard5328
      @andrewpritchard5328 21 день назад +1

      I disagree entirely . As a cabinetmaker for almost 40 years, i have seen the gradual transition to machining of just about all board components with a CNC. Not only is it significantly quicker, yield per sheet is improved with optimisation automatically taken care of and waste is reduced as a result.
