+Josue rodriguez Her video was very helpful for my preparations. Cpa exam review books from Renkarter study system report has aided me greatly for my exams. Renkarter Study System Report - find it on google if you want.
Thank you for your video, it is very motivating. I'm taking ACCA papers though but i felt that your video helped me a lot in the tips and planning section. Continue making such videos, its helping a lot of professional students like us :)
I spent WELL over 500 hours studying the material just for REG alone and that was just barely enough to get me through the Roger review. I could not get even close to 70% of the MCQ's right consistently even after all of that. I guess we're all different in our abilities. Needless to say, I decided it was time for me to quit my exam pursuits and not worry so much about climbing the corporate ladder. It was killing me. Glad I never had any ambitions to work in the Big 4.
My boyfriend knows how excited I get when one of your videos pops up in my subscription box but I was especially excited when I saw this video because it relates to my boyfriend! He's actually in the process of preparing for the CPA exam himself so we were able to watch this video together (: It really helped him out!! Thanks for the great tips! :D
Linda Phan LOL omg Linda, you always make my day with your encouragement! I'm glad this video was something y'all could watch together. Best of luck to him on his CPA exam journey... and to you as well because I know it takes patience from a significant other :)
Thanks so much . Studying to take far first, it’s a beast. Hitting almost 70% on practice quiz finally , 2 months into 2-3 hours daily. And I aced advanced accounting
I'm starting my CPA journey as an international student. I'm Coming to Highline college in Washington DC mainly starting at Winter. Thank you,,I'm a new subscriber. I'm already in love😘😘thankyou
Hy..i want to know more about CPA program..i am very new...can we c0ntact each other at my email.. Shyamrauniyar12@gmail.com.. Thank you Shyam Kumar Rauniyar
Hi! I know you put this video up a long time ago, but im currently studying for my CPA and seeing that its possible and watching someone on RUclips who has done it is just so inspiring and motivating right now! Thank you for sharing! ....I should probably get back to studying now. lol :-)
Hi, I'm new to your channel. Thanks for sharing. I'm studying for my PA-C and working as well, it's a different field but the same concept. This is motivation and helpful for me. I also did not pass the 1st time so I had to revamp my plan. Congrats to u and thanks again for this vid.
I just started a RUclips Channel and Blog, "The CPA Experience" to encourage accounting students through their CPA journey. Feel free to check it out! You can also leave a comment on videos you'll like to see! Feel free to check out the blog and leave me a message!
I am so glad I found your channel! I am studying for the CPA exam now and have been struggling so hard. I also love all of your clothing tips in other videos because I need to start making a business casual wardrobe for when I start work!
Brittney Jacks Hi love! I am so glad I could help provide some tips. I had a difficult time figuring stuff out when I was first starting out my career, so glad I can be here to help & give advice :)
I first watched this video a semester into my junior year and now that I just graduated two weeks ago this video is still so valid. Thank you so much for making this and I can't wait for you to do another Q&A!
Congratulation on passing your CPA and thank you so much for sharing your tips with us. It was so helpful and in depth, i especially like the study calendar! xoxo
+Ming Xiao I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about signing up for cpa exam try Grathaw Simple Study Expert (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
Thank you so much! I really benefited from watching this video. I've been really shy to ask my professors and classmates about preparing for the CPA exam because so many of them already have jobs lined up with their auditing firms while I'm sitting there with no job lined up or CPA exam prep done since I just got back into school full time after working as more of a bookkeeper and was focused on completing the prereqs to get into the master's program. Again, thank you for this video. It really has given me more courage and great tips, especially as someone who, like you said, isn't really smart but works hard
+ajcab819 I am so glad this was helpful! I understand how you feel, I feel like some universities do a better job at getting people prepared to apply and sit for the exam whereas others don't.... my university kind of helped but a lot of it I had to figure out through trial and error. I am glad I can be of help if you are in a similar situation to where I was back in college :)
when did you start working for an accounting firm? and tips for how to prepare for interview for an accounting firm? I am currently a soph. in college majoring in accounting.
As a rising junior in college... what do you suggest!? I feel like they should have a prep for college students besides regular classes! I want to start studying for it right now!
Afi Lewinsky I say really pay attention to what you learn in audit and tax classes. If you are able to pick some elective accounting classes, try to do corporate tax, cost accounting, advanced accounting (consolidations) and governmental. These topics are covered in the CPA exam so if you're exposed to it beforehand, it's much easier to grasp. And try to get your CPA out of the way as soon as you're eligible. I know some colleges provide prep courses while you're in school, mine didn't but I would keep an eye out for it. Girl, you're setting yourself up for success, keep it up! :)
Steph, thank you so much for making the video. It really helps that you were so real. Yes, I'm taking the CPSM exam, which consist of three exams. And, you're right! I should give myself the opportunity to pass. Thank you!!!
Thanks for your video, I'm currently preparing for it now, 3 months is very difficult to pass the exam if you work full time, I work from 8 until 4, so I study everyday after work for 4 to 5 hrs, and on the weekends I almost spend more time. I also study at lunch break in work. Thanks again!
Hello, I'm glad I found your VDO. I am feeling down right now and feel burned out from the CPA exams. I passed AUD last October 2014, took BEC in Jan 2015 and failed, plan to take it again in May 2015. Just took the FAR exam 2 days ago and waiting for score to be released next month. I've got encouraged again and don't feel like I am the most stupid person on earth!!!!! Thank you.
Chuti22 C Seriously humbled by your comment, I'm really glad I was able to hep encourage you in your CPA journey. My fingers are crossed for you on your FAR score! Definitely don't feel down about failing any part, every single part is hard. I always hated how people downplayed BEC like it's a cake walk.... it really isn't. Anyways, good luck on your journey, you got this!!
I am so glad I came across your video! I graduating with a bachelors in accounting back in 2008 and I have been putting off taking this exam for years just because I am scared to death of it! I have finally made the decision to finally sit for it and I am starting with REG. Great tips! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Alecia Whetstone OMG.. I have been putting it off too due to Fear. I just decided to tackle it. Which review course are you using? I was thinking of Becker- soo pricey or Gleim. Any advise??
Linda Boateng I've found that Becker is just voluminous foot view of the topics, meant to go along with their passmaster software lectures and MCQs. Gleim acts as a supplement for basic concepts. It's got more practice questions as well. Personally, I prefer Wiley. Its concise to say the least. Hope it helps.
Bhatt Bhadresh Thanks for the response. I have been doing non stop research for the last week on which prep course to take. I am defintely going to commit to Wiley CPA Course. I am soo nervous about the CPA Exam, hopefully the prep course helps a ton!
Linda Boateng I know a few friends used Wiley as well who have passed. Just wanted to say good luck to you! I know it's nerve wracking but you will feel AMAZING after it's done :) You got this!
hi Its my first time to comment on someone post and i am doing this becz u made me to write . I really like your post and feel so motivated after watching it.
Thank you for doing this video! I'm discouraged because I just failed my first exam and it took so long for me to gain the courage to go in the exam. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who felt like this. I love the the brain dump idea! Did you have trouble with the timing on Becker?
+Sarah Bella I mainly had trouble getting in the sufficient study time with all the material with Becker. So eliminating the lectures really helped me, so other than that, I didn't really have too much trouble with the timing. Definitely understand how you're feeling but just get your mind set on your goal and you'll get it done :)
I am so glad to find this video. I am going to join an accounting program in June. I am totally new to accounting. This is really helpful. I have a question. Where did you find the lecture for CPA exam? Thanks.
Hello, I reallllly love your video and it's really helps. I just come to the States a few months ago to chase my master degree in accounting. I prepare for the CPA exam right now. I want to find a job in Big 4 in the fall, and hope you can share more tips about how to find job in Big 4, thanks!!
Qing Yan Hi there! I actually posted a video on How to Get a Job with the Big 4 a week or so ago. I hope my tips will help! Good luck on the masters degree & hope you're enjoying your time in the US so far :)
If you learn better by studying with other people then a study partner would definitely be a good choice, it really just depends on your learning preferences. I would suggest waiting until you are eligible to take the exam to start studying because you will be able to retain much more information. I think starting to study maybe 2 months prior to graduation would be a good strategy though if you want to get a jump on things.
I made the mistake of taking AUD first... I work in tax lol. I probably should have done REG first, but to be honest I had no idea what I was doing when I was scheduling the exams. I have the AUD exam tomorrow, and am prepared to fail, but it makes me feel a lot better knowing that you didn''t pass either. I think the pass rate is less than 50% and they just made the CPA exam a bit harder in April, so it will likely go down even more. Oh well, I am prepared for the grind!
how can one get 4 exams done in 3 months? lol... I find that amazing if you are also working... I have seen the books per section and they are not tiny... plus the questions to practice and all that... I could see 3 months for 1 section.
She failed first so I think that she didn't need that time after failing to pass, may if you failed and go back to study and develop your weakness may take 3 months .... just may be
from a similar aged CPA, I must say this is a very decent video. The key was active learning (drilling thru the Qs) and ignoring the videos. Those videos are time suckers. The key for me was living and dying by the simulations.
neversayjello Do you think its significantly more of a timesaver to go through the chapter on your own rather than watch the lecture? I have been watching the lectures for 2 out of the 8 lectures for REG and just feel like I'm not retaining anything. Since the lecturer has random examples and descriptions for the material, do you think watching for those are not worth it? I may change my way of studying now. Did you feel as though the simulations properly prepared you for the simulation portion? Going through simulations makes me feel prepared for the process of actually doing the simulations but it feels like the simulations can cover such a wide variety of information and that Becker doesn't cover everything in the lecture. Sorry for all of the questions!
My first experience with her gave me the assurance that has made me recommend her to my friends without fears of them failing , I got four of my friends involved with her already.
Please answer this: do the CPA exams include information you remembered well from college ? Was there information you never even went over in college? Was your studying only review? Please go into detail! Thank you very much
My Girlfriend came from the Phillippines to Canada with a degree in computer engineering and rather then have to take updated courses She got into Accounting courses in school With her degree credits were added She then moved on to her to her CPA online and in class courses While working at a accounting firm as they were the ones paying for her courses. Currently she just finshed Taxs part of the course with flying colors Works in a office of a major rail company. Which handles Steel transfur and a side job part time Because she likes working with people 1 on 1 Has nothing to do with " Being Asian " and more to do with knowing How are her father worked to put food on the table with $4 a day and 2 kids and a sick wife Or looking in a window at a brand name shirt " Polo " and knowing it would take a months pay to buy it. She bought that Polo shirt here in Canada, Wore it for 2 days with a smile, Washed it and mailed it to her sister ... Accounting is hard You need to study and you need a drive to make it happen
hi, I'm not working at the moment. I'm taking REG on March 9. My plan is to put in a solid 3 days for each chapter, then review. Does this seem like a doable/logical method?
I hope your exam went well! 3 days for each chapter seems like a reasonable method because it gives you enough time to get through the material. I just started a RUclips Channel and Blog, "The CPA Experience" to encourage accounting students through their CPA journey. Feel free to check it out and let me know suggestions of videos you'll like to see!
Hi Stephie. When you were explaining your studying method, and said that you began by writing down the notes in the software, are you referring to the "Pre-annotated Ebook"? It's the e-book on the Becker software but with the red writing and underlining. I want to make sure this is what you mean and that I am not overlooking something in the book/software.
What about CIMA (UK) ?? The largest management accounting body now comes together with AICPA giving you the CGMA designation.... Chartered Global Management Accountant !!!!!
Thank you, Stephienese. I believe you quick mentioned Becker program, I am wondering is it helpful? I have a CPA in Canada and am thinking to obtain U.S CPA in WA.
Hi, Love the video! first of all and second, what textbook did you use and what would you recommend? I am starting to study for the exam and i want to start on a good path
Thanks Stephanie, passing CPA in 3 months....You are genius. I am preparing for CPA currently. I just have one quick question, can you tell me something about how to prepare for "research section (simulation)" problem? thank you (I am also an Asian, lol)~
+Andy Zhang thank you! Just very determined 😉 The simulations are similar to homework problems but on steroids. Unfortunately I used Becker software so I practiced those over and over and if I missed anything I made sure to review the concepts.
@@WithStephie why "unfortunately I used Becker?" Kindly be generous with your elaboration as I am about to open my wallet to pay Becker (though I would rather watch Roger's). I had read Bryce Welker's blog - he owns Crush the CPA Exam - he asserts very openly that Becker does NOT update materials.
I just found your video via the Google (quite by accident). Anyway, like several other commenters, I have a bachelor's degree in another field, Geography (UT graduate in 2006; I went back to school at 32 to get a degree). I finished the first 2 years of Engineering coursework before changing to Geography as I got scared that 4 year Engineering degree could easily turn into 6 years if you fail one or two courses (and UT was not cheap then). In terms of career, I have (mostly) worked in IT for over 20 years. The only accounting courses I have taken were the first two at ACC in 1994. So, based on your personal or observed experience, should I or would I need to go back to school to change to the Accounting field? Or would studying online course (or books in hand) in order to prepare to pass the exam be more beneficial? I know you stated 4 exams in 3 months but I am thinking 4 exams in 9 months maybe? My goal is to work in the Hotel and Travel industry (but I realize many of the higher paying positions that I have read indicate a need for some type of accounting experience). I am hoping I can change jobs very soon and get experience in Accounting (albeit I will make a lower wage until I got a CPA designation). Thank you for your video. -James
Loved this video. I graduated in accounting-finance concentration this past December and worked for a while but got married now I'm in a small town with little job opportunities. I loved governmental accounting and i think I would do well in audit because of my personality and skills but I don't know where to start as I mainly have a finance background and little internship/work experience. Any advice?
+Zainab Oke You could look for a job with your local government if you have interest in governmental accounting or with a firm that audits governmental entities.
+SimplyZ I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about signing up for cpa exam try Grathaw Simple Study Expert (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
thanks for sharing. how did u manage to study just 1 month and pass REG?? it's supposed to be the most technically difficult one. u make the CPA exam look like a piece of cake!
+Justin Time OMG it was definitely not a piece of cake and I totally don't mean to make it seem that way lol.... I just planned it out so I got through all the material and made sure I was understanding each concept as I went... tried to be as effective & efficient as possible and just kept my mind focused on passing. Luckily I had a really good individual tax professor so I remembered a lot of it... hardest part for me was the corporate tax.
I see you really love what you do. I'm considering a career change and looking into accounting. A lot of people seem to hate it. I already have a bachelor's in another field entirely, should I go for another bachelor's in accounting or Master's? I see that I would probably need another 75 hrs in accounting and business classes for a bachelor's.
+AHealthy StateOfMind yeah I've seen a few who don't like accounting and it's better off going a different route if there is absolutely zero interest. I'd probably go for a masters but I would suggest taking a basic accounting class or two before investing in an accounting degree in case you don't end up liking the concepts.
Steph you obviously read what I told Ms. Dance. I went to Devry which is not the best school I did my masters late I already have a family. So I am not as fast and quick as you because you are younger and smarter BUT IN ADDITION since I went to a horrible school AND the economy was really bad in 2008 not to mention I was a little older then kids then it was difficult to find work plus I am not good with softwares like Excel so I got dissapointed and didn't have the nerve to study. I would spend a fortune on stuff but never studied. There are so many things I want to do in life or have interests in but I couldn't decide so I drew from a bunch of options and I said I whatever I draw that is. I drew coming back to my Accounitng Roots. I have been out of this for 8 years so I know there a liteterally a lot of changes even just from 2012 since you finished. Even now there is whats called TSBS which are on the exam. So I listened to your video clearly I am nowhere near as smart its been a long time I am 40 years old but I feel much older but you gave me a pep talk here. I will take your advice back then I took BEC in 2010 and made a 53 on it and I didn't crack the book open so you are certainly right in what you say. I will try BEC first I think that is the easiest to me I Have in interest in the law so regulation is the second audit for me is third and FAR is forth so like you said I can build it in that order. I am going to give myself anywhere from 3-6 months for each because its been a long time and I am not as young and quick as you are + I have a family. But I figure if I follow what you are telling me within 2 years I should pass all 4 sections. Thanks for the advice and ttyl please feel free to reply.
Also in 2008 I did the Masters at Devry and took supplemental courses in a place called MountainView College. I don't know if you are in the DFW area or not if you were I bet you probably went there to save TONS OF Money because they were CPA approved courses taught at a Junior College at Junior College prices lol.
Hello stephanie. taking interships is as important as having your cpa, or I can just go for my cpa and apply to work in a firm? Thanks and sorry for the errors I'm in train
vcvitiko If you're going into a public accounting firm, I would suggest having an internship, especially with the Big 4. In my experience, the Big 4 normally hire people with some kind of public accounting experience (i.e. internship or smaller firm experience). I've noticed that the mid-sized firms hire people at a staff level even if they don't have any public accounting experience. I think an internship is really beneficial if you're able to do one, plus you'll make really good money with the overtime ;) Hope this helps!
Love your channel. I'm taking aud/far, then bec/reg. Hey not sure if you are pursing your MBA yet, but if you havent looked into yet, Western Governors Union is a good college. They are online, and have very high marks. Just an idea for you.
+Seth Macomber that's a great plan & wishing you lots of luck of your CPA journey! I haven't looked into it but I'll definitely keep them in mind when I do start my research. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey I'm a junior right now, what are the steps i should do in order to prepare me for the exam? What classes do you think is the most important ones that is tested on the exam? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your struggles. I certainly went through my fair share of failures when i was trying to pass the exam. I recently made a few videos related to this topic on my channel if anyone is looking for an additional perspective. I've been in public accounting now for five years, and have found getting my license was well worth the time investment. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you. I am an older person and it had been a while wrt me being a student. This is an excellent group of points and REMINDERS about studying to pass a multiple choice test! I am only taking the EA test, but was having a hard time remembering the partnership and corporate stuff. Good advice. Also, do you know an economical education source (problems and case studies) where one can practice doing 1120 and 1065 returns? Just asking because it sounds like you have had a lot of involvement in tax prep.
+corbfisher glad it was helpful. I'm sorry but I don't know of resources to practice. I took an individual tax exam class and my professor was awesome so it helped in taking the CPA exam. The entrance exam shouldn't involve tax though in case you were wanting to review for that.
+fernando estrella try taking a basic accounting class if you ever get an option to. I know some HS will have accounting classes or if you get to do college classes see if its one you can do. Might as well see if the concepts are interesting!
Do you have a good (non-boring) source on studying for governmental accounting. I am preparing for FAR and this is, by-FAR, the most challenging area for me.
This is a great clip . I have real admiration for the enthusiasm she displays and her success story. Here comes the next : don;t be offended please : CPA is the most stupidest exam for Accountants that no other country in the western world recognizes. It is nothing but a big business. Here in America if you are a CPA you are licensed to be officially homeless as there is an abundance of CPA's for a given job. If you are old , there is no chance you can land a JOB with your CPA- it is such a saturated market. America is good at many things - engineering and medicine at the top - but NOT accounting. If you want to really do a worldwide recognized qualification in accounting go to UK - and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)you will be amazed how well structured and the rigorous those studies are - no match to American CPA - that is the reason they do not recognize American CPA's . There is no reciprocity between ICAEW and CPA because compared to them CPA is a lot inferior qualification ! There are great accounting minds here in USA- tap this course(ICAEW) and see the value that it will give you - no match to CPA!
Good advice from you! I planned to enroll ethics and management accounting on this coming semester. However, I doubted CPA program will be valuable in future as there are tons of forums debating the ca and CPA status. Can I seek from.your advice on this matter? Acca vs CPA vs icaew, which one have the most valuable reputation and recognition globally? Thank you.
+kidkido47 I personally can't provide any opinion with regard to the ACCA vs CPA cs ICAEW because I really just focus on the US. However, I don't believe that CPA licenses will become less valuable in the future. The reason being at least in public accounting, you have to have a CPA in order to be a partner or to sign audit opinions so it will always be relevant for the US. From what I've seen, a CPA designation is a requirement for many executive level positions in the US... globally I'm not sure. Sorry I can't be of more help!
Hello, Love the Inspiration. These videsos about the CPA exam has assisted in my decision to be come one. I am not even close to obtaining the credentials needed to take the CPA exam, But I was wondering is it too early to study? does any of the material change yearly? or is a different type of test ever year?
+Zel Jr The test and format does not typically change year to year, however the AICPA does publish when they plan to change the CPA exam. The next change is scheduled for April 2017. The actual material doesn't change unless there have been changes to accounting standards. I would say if you're not ready to sit for the exam, I wouldn't start studying for it. I would concentrate on understanding the concepts in your current classes to really solidify them so when you start studying for the exam, it won't be new material, it'll be more refreshers on what you learned in college. Here's an article about the changes coming up: www.becker.com/cpa-review/resources/about-exam/2017-cpa-exam-changes
Hey, I had a quick question. I'm doing pretty much exactly what you did, but listening to the lectures as well since I have the time to study for this all day. However, I'm doing the homework and problems and initially getting scores in like the 50-60%. Should I be nervous about getting them so wrong in the first time? Do people get high homework scores on their first try? I feel like although I read all the notes in the book, I need example problems to figure out how these are applied and can't seem to answer them correctly right off the bat.
+박창민 I would not worry.... studying is supposed to show you what areas you need to focus more on. I didn't do well on my first pass through the homework problems either. I made sure to revisit the problems I missed and look at the subject matter to get a better grasp of the topic. It did not come easily for me either but it allowed me to identify the areas I needed to concentrate more on. Don't take it as a negative, use it as a tool to focus your attention on while you study. Hope this helps!
I feel like god sent you to me. I was just browsing on youtube for entertainment and I randomly typed CPA Exam and your video popped. Your information is I think your information is like, saying 'stepping stone' for me because I want to become CPA but I don't have any idea how to take, what to learn and where to. Your information wasn't detail much but it really open my eyes and brought some questions in my mind which I will try finding from net. But thank you so much. I am currently junior at Cal State Hayward University, doing my undergrad in accounting. Can you please give me some of your time to write some tips for college student like me aiming to get CPA?
+Karma Yangkey Hi Karma, I am so glad my video was able to help you as a stepping stone. My biggest advice is to look at the California State Board of Public Accountancy and make sure you understand the prerequisites to be able to apply to take the exam. I looked it up and looks like you need 150 hours to sit for the exam and of those 150 hours, you need 24 to be accounting related, 24 business related, 20 accounting study and 10 ethics. Just make sure to figure out how many hours you have already taken that fit the criteria and how many more hours of each criteria you need to take while you get those 150 hours. I hope this helps and I'm always here if you need any other guidance :)
Hi I enjoyed ur video. When you took Far the third time around what study habits have you done differently? Just wanted to find ways to getting all parts and passing before the exam change in 2017. Also what are some pointers can you give for Reg? I know you stated that you listen to the lecture but was it what you expected it to be? Again your journey is encouraging
+Cece Smitj The main difference was that I stopped listening to the lectures and go through all the material, ensuring that I understood/ retained information as I went along. I really think that was the main thing, I really ensured I was prepared rather than just skimming the material and thinking I could wing it LOL... For REG, the main thing is to get the mnemonics down if you're using Becker. I took individual tax in college and the information stuck with me so just be sure to know the differences between individual and corporate tax. I only listened to a couple of pieces of the lectures for REG on topics I didn't learn about in school. Hope this helps... it's really a matter of actively studying and retaining the information. I look back and wonder how I did it but if I did, you can too :) Just keep your goal in mind and each section that you pass, it gets easier to achieve.
+Stephienese Thank you for the pointers. Lastly, Although u didn't start off taking the exam with Far you took audit because that's what you were most comfortable with, were you a little hesitant with Far?
Played this at 1.5 times. Thanks.
1.75 works pretty well too lol
Thank you for this. 1.75 worked well for me
I'm glad that I've found this channel. I'm currently studying for the CPA exam and I'm also passionate for fashion, makeup, etc. I found on you a role model. I will be seeing all your videos within my study breaks!

i got their comment and agree.
+Josue rodriguez Her video was very helpful for my preparations. Cpa exam review books from Renkarter study system report has aided me greatly for my exams. Renkarter Study System Report - find it on google if you want.

@correct, everyone has a different fate.
passed mine after studying so hard, I'm not discouraging anyone just wanna say do whatever you believe will help you pass.

Hi! I know you put this video up a long time ago, but im currently studying for my CPA and seeing that its possible and watching someone on RUclips who has done it is just so inspiring and motivating right now! Thank you for sharing!
....I should probably get back to studying now. lol :-)
Great video! I'm sitting for the exam now in my Master's program. Wish me luck!
+Maurice Thompson Good luck!! Great idea to get that out of the way before you graduate
Hi, I'm new to your channel. Thanks for sharing. I'm studying for my PA-C and working as well, it's a different field but the same concept. This is motivation and helpful for me. I also did not pass the 1st time so I had to revamp my plan. Congrats to u and thanks again for this vid.
+LuvL3LadeV Hi love! I am so glad the video was helpful and could give some encouragement. Just keep your eye on the prize :) Thank you for watching!
Do you have your email where i can correspond you for info.
Your tips on your study habits and going over the exam helped me best, especially when you would repeat the steps you took.
I first watched this video a semester into my junior year and now that I just graduated two weeks ago this video is still so valid. Thank you so much for making this and I can't wait for you to do another Q&A!
Congratulation on passing your CPA and thank you so much for sharing your tips with us. It was so helpful and in depth, i especially like the study calendar! xoxo
+Ming Xiao Thank you so much and glad I could help in some way :) Study calendar is definitely my #1 tip, good luck love!
+Ming Xiao I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about signing up for cpa exam try Grathaw Simple Study Expert (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
thank you so much for sharing your experience and tips for the CPA
I am glad I can be of help if you are in a similar situation to where I was back in college :)
have you started taking your exam yet? I just opened my book and flashcards now and am...overwhelmed to say the least!
when did you start working for an accounting firm? and tips for how to prepare for interview for an accounting firm?
Reina Duran You are very welcome! I'm rooting for you, I know it's such a struggle to study before/after work but you can do itttttt :)
Thanks for your video, I'm currently preparing for it now,
3 months is very difficult to pass the exam if you work full time, I work from 8 until 4, so I study everyday after work for 4 to 5 hrs, and on the weekends I almost spend more time. I also study at lunch break in work.
Thanks again!
Hello,
I'm glad I found your VDO.
Thank you for the test taking tips! This is really practical information even years later. I work full time and have a toddler.
I am so glad I came across your video! I graduating with a bachelors in accounting back in 2008 and I have been putting off taking this exam for years just because I am scared to death of it! I have finally made the decision to finally sit for it and I am starting with REG. Great tips! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Alecia Whetstone No problem, I am so glad I could help. I definitely understand how you're feeling but you can do it, doll!!!
I know it's nerve wracking but you will feel AMAZING after it's done :) You got this!
hi
Its my first time to comment on someone post and i am doing this becz u made me to write .
Thanks.
I’m from NY. My first exam is BEC on July 16th. My plan is BEC-REG-FAR-AUD. Also working 40 hours a week. Wish me luck! P.S.: I’m using Roger
Thank you for this! I'm going to start studying soon and I'm stressing about it!
Cece Buck No problem love! Just take it one section at a time and keep your eye on the prize. It will be so worth it when it's all done! Good luck :)
If you learn better by studying with other people then a study partner would definitely be a good choice, it really just depends on your learning preferences. I would suggest waiting until you are eligible to take the exam to start studying because you will be able to retain much more information. I think starting to study maybe 2 months prior to graduation would be a good strategy though if you want to get a jump on things.
markl Law Thank you for the input & I definitely agree with your suggestion!
Wonderful video and very honest advices given by you. Thanku so much @stephie.
you have the cleanest living quarters I have ever seen.
I could see 3 months for 1 section.
nobody can get 4 exams done in 3 months. its not possible. unless you are a freaking genius
Rob B. Just don't give up, do whatever it takes.
She failed first so I think that she didn't need that time after failing to pass, may if you failed and go back to study and develop your weakness may take 3 months .... just may be
Searching for this… yes I started FAR study and it’s becoming difficult after leaving study for last 7 years….
from a similar aged CPA, I must say this is a very decent video.
You could've gotten an MBA in Accounting, that is what I have. Anyway, thanks for all this info!!
My first experience with her gave me the assurance that has made me recommend her to my friends without fears of them failing , I got four of my friends involved with her already.
Extremely Helpful! Thank you.
+Sharon Gomes I'm so glad it helped!

I am here for your doggie!! Adorable!!
+Jie Zhang haha glad you enjoy her 😊
It is really good of making the CPS exam.
stephienese you are great,,you are so inspiring...good sharing
Hi Stephie, can this apply for ACCA exams as well? because I heard ACCA have a tougher syllabus as compared to CPA
Please answer this: do the CPA exams include information you remembered well from college ? Was there information you never even went over in college? Was your studying only review? Please go into detail! Thank you very much
This was a really motivating video. Do you think it is worth going for CPA even if you are in mid 20s or 30s? Is it a good decision?
Rajiv jaigopal wadhwa yes definitely
My Girlfriend came from the Phillippines to Canada with a degree in computer engineering and rather then have to take updated courses She got into Accounting courses in school With her degree credits were added She then moved on to her to her CPA online and in class courses While working at a accounting firm as they were the ones paying for her courses. Currently she just finshed Taxs part of the course with flying colors Works in a office of a major rail company. Which handles Steel transfur and a side job part time Because she likes working with people 1 on 1
Has nothing to do with " Being Asian " and more to do with knowing How are her father worked to put food on the table with $4 a day and 2 kids and a sick wife Or looking in a window at a brand name shirt " Polo " and knowing it would take a months pay to buy it. She bought that Polo shirt here in Canada, Wore it for 2 days with a smile, Washed it and mailed it to her sister ...
Accounting is hard You need to study and you need a drive to make it happen
hi,
I'm not working at the moment.
Yes that's what I meant :)
Awesome. Thanks for the advice
you were splendid. thank you so much
thanks for giving us such a grate helpful video to us..
Thanks for the video. It is so helpful.
+Raju Valluri I'm glad it was helpful :) Thank you for watching!
Thank you too..
What about CIMA (UK) ?? The largest management accounting body now comes together with AICPA giving you the CGMA designation.... Chartered Global Management Accountant !!!!!
You tips for best way to study for the cpa exam is great. You can Google Renkarter Study System Report which is an addon help.
thank you very much for tell us about good idea.
+Chanthorn Heng You're welcome! :) Thanks for watching!
+Stephienese I need to discuses something with
Really informative video, Thanks a lot!
+007bindo So glad it was helpful :)
Very good advice, well done
Thank you, Stephienese. I believe you quick mentioned Becker program, I am wondering is it helpful? I have a CPA in Canada and am thinking to obtain U.S CPA in WA.
I have BEC left must pass in Feb 2017.
Luckily I had a really good individual tax professor so I remembered a lot of it... hardest part for me was the corporate tax.
hi Stephanie! Do you think it would be very difficult for me to sit the exam having studied law at university? I have a tax offer from KPMG. Thanks!
Thanks for the vid and tips!
+Joe Hovsepian Awww you're welcome!
Stephienese Good idea. Thank you, I will take your advice and see if I like it first.
Great video!
so inspiring. thank you.
Stephienese, when you say notes, are talking about the lecture outline in each chapter?
Hi Stephanie.
I am ACCA Member and have an equivalent Masters in Commerce degree, but I dont have bachlors degree. Am I eligible for CPA US Exam?
Thanks!
Hi I just submitted my application and I'm starting soon, what study materials did you use, Roger, Wiley or Becker?
Stephienese thank you for the tips ! :-)
+Jakob Schraub No problem! :)
Did you study for each exam just a month while working full-time?
What would you suggest to a high school student who is interested in becoming a CPA later in the future?
+fernando estrella try taking a basic accounting class if you ever get an option to. I know some HS will have accounting classes or if you get to do college classes see if its one you can do. Might as well see if the concepts are interesting!
thanks steph! : )
***** You're welcome!!! :)
Do you have a good (non-boring) source on studying for governmental accounting. I am preparing for FAR and this is, by-FAR, the most challenging area for me.
yuckyool The only source I used was Becker and old notes I had from college.... I'm sorry!
Very helpful and motivational
+Bashir Rostom yay glad it was helpful!!!
Hello, Love the Inspiration. These videsos about the CPA exam has assisted in my decision to be come one. I am not even close to obtaining the credentials needed to take the CPA exam,
But I was wondering is it too early to study? does any of the material change yearly? or is a different type of test ever year?
I'm finally studying for the cpa in California, about how many hrs did you study per day? I'm doing reg. first
Hey, I had a quick question.
Hope this helps!
this was so inspiring
Julie Vo Thank you! If you're getting ready for it..... I know you can do it!! :)
