I saw this Group play in 1971 when I got home from Vietnam. They were playing at a street fair in San Francisco. It was a good day as I was thankful to be alive. 52 years is a long time. I've learned a lot. Some good, some bad. God Bless America because America needs it.
"Welcome Home"
In country June 1967 to June 1968, 2nd Corps, Qui-Nhon.
I saw the Doobie Brothers in 1977 when I was 16 and in 8 days I'm gonna see them again in West Palm Beach.. I'm 63 now but I'm very anxious for a night of Classic American Rock Music!
Kenny Loggins co-wrote this Grammy award winning song with Michael McDonald. Fantastic.
can hardly believe michael mc donald can still sing this song on its 50th anniversary he still sounds good of course im not expecting a performance that sounds the same as back in their hayday but whats important is stepping on the stage and just sing it the best you can, no frills ,no drama to the delight of your fans god bless you guys
50th anniversary of the doobies not the song
I grew up with this band, saw them 4 times over 50 years and cut my drum chops on Knudsen, Hartman and a few others. This simply is a great American band. RIP Keith and Bobby la K.
In 1971 I listened to the first song of the Doobies, Listen to the music, their first hit, it was love at first sight, and now 52 years later, they are still here and touring, all Tom, Pat, Michael and John after all those years, band problems and issues in between, amazing !!!
Micheal voice sounds great.
👏👏👏👏👏
Felicidades..
These guys still better than any new artists out today.
Yes
OH YES! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!
Maybe because they are real artists
One of the best songs from de 70’s…love it ❤
One of the best songs of all time!
One of my favorites!
Michael sounds wonderful. ♥
Michael McDonald's voice does not age. Incredible
I have been a Doobies fan since 1973...Not sure what you guys are hearing but his voice is shot....
@@groucho0506 I wouldn't call that shot. Its incredibly great for an elderly man.
@@pereiraplaza222 Yeah, still shot though.....this isn't the forum to be politically correct.
His voice did age and he cant sing anymore...Sorry but its true.
@@stevenmeadows6917 True. So I strongly disagree
❤ MM! As a person, humanitarian, song writer, but MOST of all a superior vocalist & musician. Have met him! A sweet humble talented guy that deserves all the recognition of the music world. I wish he had been inducted into the R&R Hall of Hall as an individual not as a member of a group. His talent is multifaceted for he has reached beyond himself and contributed to many noted vocalists! He “made” the Doobies popular❣️ Before COVID I made a point to see him annually. His two cover Motown albums are excellent! 😊
He is such a nice guy truly privileged to meet him
somebody who saw the Doobies recently told me Michael's voice was shot.... doesn't sound shot to me!! Yaaaaaay Doobies!!! Love this song too!
Maybe drunk??? Seen them in July absolutely rocked the house, all voices and playing was all on point.
Saw them in L.A. in October. He sounded on point.
He always did sound terrible. I really dont like the mans voice. His pitch is off here but at his age it is to be expected.
@@travis8665 you are definitely in the minority.
@@kennethkobylakiewicz3157 he’s clearly an “under the rock” liver. From 1978-2022 nothings gonna stay or sound the same. Mike’s gonna surely spice things up and add a lil dazzle. They ALL sound fantastic. Just wish the horn wasn’t too pushed in the songs
Saw them on this tour at Radio City Music Hall September 8, 2022. Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Five decades and The Doobie Brothers can still deliver an excellent performance.
class is permanent
I finally got to have the honor to attend this anniversary tour after three different cancellations through the past years due to covid my high school girlfriend and I attended this concert in 1981/2.
37 years later we're still going strong and, so are the Doobies ! blessed.
The best of the rest. Thanks for the music and a lifetime of memories.
Yes. Thank you
Who doesn't love the voice of Michael Mcdonal and Dobbie Brothers too?
What song❗️
My hand is up. McDonald never sounded good.
Sheeeeesh, man 😮 Didn’t even drop the tune a semitone from the original! Michael McDonald is a straight up legend 🏆 Just found out about this tour, now I just might have to go see it!
Amazing , much love and respect all x
Michael still makes it happen . Quite impressive!
Yeah he does
What a Fool Believes reminds me when I live in San Diego and I was in the Navy
What a wonderful song! O love it!!!
One of my favorites!
It is awesome to see both Michael and Tom on the stage.
I feel some tension...
Saw them last summer in Cleveland. Great show. All were great but that sax player stood out. Man did he jam.
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼
That's Mark Russo. He used to play with Tower Of Power and The Sons of Champlin before that. Agreed he's a killer sax player.
@@thomasmurphy5371 and Long Train Running borrowed the horn riff of Soul Vaccination. Check out the recent performances
Que gran voz de Michael , maravilloso que recuerdos.
Genial la maravillosa voz de Michael 😊
Thanks for posting this great clip. So excited to be seeing the Doobies in Sydney this year. Yipeeeee!
You're welcome!
I saw them.last summer finally for this tour and it was awesome in Cincinnati
DB rules for ever. Thanks for sing my teens.
Saw them in Chicago on this tour, it was a great time. The crowd was really having fun.
I love this!
Me too!
Can't wait to see them live here in the Netherlands in 2 weeks with the Eagles.
Can remember 1974 in Daytona FL. Still the best, Michael.
Bravo!! Hermoso recuerdo.
Incombustible voice
Great video recording and sound. My respect. Thank you 🙏 🎼✌🏼
Thanks!
Still such great chemistry as a band! We saw them in MI to a almost 3 Hr show sold out to the rafters! I wonder when these guys were starting out in the early 70's what they would have thought of some band from the 1920's being able to do the same thing? LOL!
👍🏼👍🏼
Where in MI?
I love this! We are seeing them in June! I can’t wait!
Can’t wait for Dallas show. Saw them last year in Irving and it was a 27 song set!
They still got it!
I don't know he still sounds pretty good to me. Even professional musicians can have a bad night with the voice. I heard him do a Christmas concert once where he actually had to stand to hit a high note but all credit to him he nailed it when he could have bailed.
Basicly, for the last 50 years... teenagers forever green, oh yezzzzzz, great feeling guys, have fun, these are the best Christmas gifts suggestions for your beloved ones, get up & paaaarty guys
Rapaz, esse cara é uma lenda ,que música bem feita !!!!!
Pretty freakin' impressive for a group of Senior Citizens.
que recuerdos¡
They actually sound really good doing that song! Yup. Michael McDonald's voice can still reach those high notes... at his age! Awesome! Unlike Phil Collins or America, which really just do it because people are willing to pay to see them, but simply haven't got it anymore, vocally. 😢
It’s a little weird a half step down but Mike is still killing it. And this is the correct tempo. Most of the other live versions in the past were so frantic.
Black water. Doobie brothers. Right 👍🏼👍🏼 on
Demais demais 👏🏽🎶🥰
Great
Wow , super Song!
Yeah, it's one of my favorites!
Blue-Eyed Soul
👍👍
Michel mckdonals eres el mero mero en español de los dobieee brothers....
😍😍😍
Esta canción está en mi recuerdos, pero no sabía quién la cantaba
What Fools Believe.
💖
Wish they would come back to Scotland. With MM
Absolutely amazing!!! What else do you say?
Agreed!
Michael McDonald's voice is showing the years.
In what way ?!? They played this in the original key - and he hit ALL the high notes - and even higher - fully strong as when it was first released. If you only knew what you were talking about . . .
I went to this tour. The show was fantastic but I didn't care for the backdrop.
Right?
Michael Michael McDonald still has a great voice after all these years. The problem is, slurring his words and phrases together. It’s just hard to listen to.
He is just awful here. Just a pub singer.
his style of singing.
Rock on with your bad selves
Well been singing for years .yours?
Lots of stress.sorry.
if you love music go see them dont let it slip bye i saw Cat Stevens 50th ani.....now he dosent tour see the Doobies Iam there
Are people allowed to post concert videos on RUclips, I posted a video from Barry Manilow from several years ago, and got my account blocked, and had to make a new RUclips, don't want that to happen again?
Facebook blocked some videos I made in a concert
I think it depends on the artist and/or label.
It must be hard for Michael to sing from the back of his throat like that at his age now, sounds a bit more muppety than when he was young, but still doing it.
50th anniversary? McDonald joined Doobies in ‘76.
The band originated in 1969/70
Does it get ant better than this?
This group with '' Michael McDonald'' is bad. They can play and sing. 123's ups ???. Means good 😊😊 for them.,
Michael McDonald has the voice of an angel.
Having seen the Doobies 29 times, including Charlotte in July, expected the same crystal clear guitars and vocals, couldn’t hear anything but McDonalds too loud organ and incessant moaning. They are a GUITAR BAND, not a backup band. Worst show since the 80s
Please tour the UK I love this band, long may they rock
❤amazing
