I was 19 when this was filmed in 1993, I was into metal and hard rock. Now as I approach 50, I've discovered the power of smooth music. Girls used to scream and faint when Elvis walked onto the stage. That's how I feel watching Loggins and McDonald sing together in such a beautiful place. Their improvisation together is perfect, along with the instrumentation. When singers and musicians reach this level of mastery, they make it look so easy and natural. I've also seen Loggins freestyling with Daryl Hall. Loggins can vibe with any great musician any time, any place.

Their first collaboration, "What a Fool Believes," was based on McDonald's chastisement of Kenny Loggins for kicking former partner Jim Messina to the curb.
