    European design will play a big role here, it’s not what these guys are used to. In the same way that us guys from this side of the pond would instinctively lean towards this machine I can’t see the boys liking it. The visibility, lighting, sectional control, auto rate and steer for me make this one something you could drive all day and night without getting tired. That’s huge on an operation on the scale of this one. Looks good and compact too. Great videos by the way.

    Fascinating merging of technology and major chemical improvements. A far cry from dad's homemade sprayer in 1965. A 55 gallon drum on a three point hitch on a Ferguson 30. 16 foot spray boom made out of galvanized pipe. My the progress we have made. Keep up the great vids.

      Some specs:
      DAMMANN-trac DT 3500 H S5 EcoDrive
      Up to 12m³ (12.000l, 3.000ish gal)
      313 HP
      Hydrostatic, all 6 wheels are driven
      Up to 1.05m ground clearance (3,5ft)
      Working widths of 30-42m (100ish to 138ish ft)
      So basically it doesn't have a lot up on the pantera, other than the tank capacity. I'd be curious to see what you think of it, since you do like to go long without stopping.

    If Amazone starts bringing more sprayers to the US they’ll need to work on those top speeds!
    We’ve bought some European equipment and had issues because it seems like the equipment is designed for a completely different style of farming. Can’t tell you how many times we had our Tonutti hay rake bend in half purely because it wasn’t designed for tougher prairie fields. By the time we gave it the boot it had more new steel and welds than it had the original steel.

    • @theloniousm4337
      @theloniousm4337 4 года назад

      I don't know how much tougher our conditions can be? Bigger yes, but tougher? It's not like we are growing crops on BMX courses. A piece of equipment is either built to last or it isn't. Plenty of made in North America stuff that doesn't stand up over time as well because of mild steel or poor design (or both).

    • @prairiefarmer5994
      @prairiefarmer5994 4 года назад

      Thelonious M I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt our hay fields are significantly rougher. In my area of the country we have badgers and groundhogs that dig into the ground and leave significant mounds above ground. Those types of conditions rip equipment apart if they aren’t built tougher. We’ve had an H&S rake now for a couple years and have not had one issue.

    • @theloniousm4337
      @theloniousm4337 4 года назад

      @@prairiefarmer5994 Yeah, I wasn't thinking of rangeland. Gophers and badgers could turn a field into a BMX course.

      Much the same in Australia
      Not going to make any euro friends here
      But my real farming friends and family in Ireland and France can attest
      Our style if farming is way more high paced and on a far bigger scale
      Where we're baling 3 to 400 acres a year and we're only doing it for our own sheep (some hay growers are doing 4000+)
      The guys over there are doing 1-200 maybe
      And what we're doing in a day they're doing in a week
      No need to rush and don't have the horsepower to rush
      We basically have to thrash gear to make efficiency and make farming pay

    • @prairiefarmer5994
      @prairiefarmer5994 4 года назад

      fowletm1992 it’s the same for us. We have a large amount of acreage we cut each year, and with how bipolar the weather can be, we have to push hard when he have the chance to bale anything. That little Tonutti just wasn’t built for it.

      I looked at the agrifac online and wow. I don't know if any of the stuff is commercially available yet or just testing but 400hp machines, 8000l tanks, 80m (260') booms, cameras that detect plant/weed varieties and spray accordingly with direct inject chemical so in theory you could be spraying different chems on different nozzles depending on what was growing under the spray booms as you fly over at 12mph.

      They did set the record in Australia a couple years ago with the Condor, very capable sprayer by the looks of it. Pantera looks more European style, slower speeds and more tight turning radius to not damage as much crop on the very expensive soil. Condor has multiple versions, European style and American/Australian style.
