I definitely see why road speed is so important to your farm. Your fields are ridiculously far away. Our farthest field is 10 miles but we have a lot more traffic to deal with. I do love the duals😊👍on the this sprayer. We're in the market for a new sprayer so your pros/cons on all these sprayer are REALLY helpful. Thanks Mike. Have a good day bud!!
With the 40mph empty speed, might be worth looking into loading at the field. If you were to pull the trigger. Road speed always seems to be your most important pro...well I guess it’s a toss up between speed, cup holders, corner posts, and sound system :) Be well all.
I think it’s kind of funny to watch farming videos of different farmers, you the guy that farm with old Equipment some no ac and no cabs Never hear them complain about it, then watch the big money farmers always complaining, I guess that just the way it is lol 😂
C'mon Mike you can't move your head a little bit to see past the handrail lol. I farmed with open station Farmalls for many years , heat and dust in summer and cold as hell in winter and the constant smell of Hytran .That sprayer would be like heaven 👍
My grandfather leveled the Tulare lake bottom for J.G. Boswell in the 60s and 70s, no air, some scrapers and bulldozers were still cable driven. Imagine the hydraulic improvement, etc. 50 years later what changes.
Great vid Mike. The Trident is now available with a 1600 gallon tank. Like you said, you can get it with a Viper. Also they are available with the Raven XRT boom height. I would never go back to the previous Autoboom.
Guess, it is even worse. Not a single cup discovered whatsoever over the whole yourney.. Not a cow kind of guy as well, hope you'll find the steak at the plate at his place he's is loooking for. But.., start to worry a bit. Haven't seen anything of Ashtyn since you got married..? Just joken, awesome race video Mike!👍👌 Maybe can start e new race competion next to F1 or so, with the aim of catching bugs. But first lets fix the braking issue? Crops look great, 2020 July proofs shows to be more wet than average.
Like to see the right side rails come down when steps come up for roading, go up when steps come down for egress of the machine . Safe yet functional. Oh yeah case add cup holders... Mike demands it....
I love and agree what you said "I'm not a cow guy" i would rephrase it and say "I'm not a animal guy".Mike i think we can all agree which sprayer looks the best! The caseses look good when folded but not too much when unfolded.I think the trident was built so that case had a multipurpose machine that could run a drybox as well.
25 mph loaded 40 mph empty is like Granny from Beverly Hillbillies and her still in winter, it's terrible going down to the still but it sure feels good heading back with the whiskey.
They have auto axle adjust using sensors in the axle adjust cylinders. There is a tab in the pro700 for it, under the iso screen if I remember right. Can offset the axles front and rear from there as well.
25 mph might be slow for you up there when loaded but the 42 mph empty might make up for the time difference. Go online and i bet you could find a cup holder to mount on the right side :)
I don't know wheather they sold in NA or not but I would suggest to at least take a look at Horsch sprayers, Horsch Leeb to be precise. I heard a lot of good things about them. Maybe next year since spraying season should be over soon.
Mike to space the wheels use either the programmable display on the instrument cluster (A-post) or through the rate controller via the Virtual Terminal (VT) display
Get the cal sorted on auto boom and get the flow rates fine tuned after a bit of work so they both fold at the same rates otherwise the faulure to move faults will send you mad
I know it’s a demo but what do you think about sending a hole saw through that panel to get a cup holder in there shouldn’t be that many wires under there😬. Thanks Mike
When we got our new Patriots they had the tires set at 65psi and was way to much, could check that. Dont need to lift out of cradle with the 120 foot booms and autofold, just hold the button
Just wondering, with the load being top heavy/ high off the ground, would the sprayer but less safe in higher speeds carrying a full or half load? Just a thought from a engineering stand point...
@@robertg.9964 I see where your coming from but farmers (especially Mike haha) aren't too concerned with the safety aspect being in the middle of nowhere. Time is money in farming and in my opinion it is no less safe than a semi with a tanker going 65-70mph down the highway when these sprayers are only carrying 1200-2000 gallons.
@@dieselman8v923 when farmers build their own roads for their exclusive use then they can decide how concerned they get to be about safety.. we already know farmers and rural types have no regard for anyone but themselves
**Sprayer speed** on the side panel there should be a knob to adjust your preferred speed. The 5550 travels upwards of 40MPH. so try looking for that knob and see if there’s a difference.

I think the 25 mph loaded is there to protect the tires. It's really bad on tires to run too fast with a heavy load. Local tire shop in my town complains that the sprayer guys bitch about their tires coming apart when the run 35 mph all the time loaded.
Mike, you should try out a New Holland SP300.R. We switched to The New Holland rear boom after running Apache for many years. Mechanical drive with front wheel assist. 40MPH loaded. Viper4. More fuel efficient. Better than Apache and less money than all the others
I’m curious if a serious spay tender would work well for your operation? Similar to the one Tony Fast runs. Pretty sure that one’s even made in Saskie. You guys have truck operators, plenty of supply, and a ton of ground to cover.
Well Mike cut that rail off an put you a smaller one up. But kept the original one an when you get rid of it put the other one back on sir. You hav a clear shot then. Anyway my two cents worth. I enjoy you videos thank you
Thinking the axle slides are bolted the large bolts there that you thought where holding the plastic liners in are all the way through they pry didn’t want someone walking the slides out with duals on🤷🏻♂️
Surely that 25 mile an hour top speed when loaded is just an electrical regulator. That can Surely be bypassed to give your 40mph when full too. If speed is your biggest hurdle would a mercedes unimog on a trailed sprayer be a good alternative or a JCB fastrac with a big trailed sprayer? Do 60 - 80 kph on the road depends on specs.
John Deere 6830 fan it’s for safety. It’s a combination of air pressure readings and a sensor at the knee joint pivot of the suspension. It can calculate weight based off squat

My stepfather spraying with a Massey Ferguson 135.
It makes 17mph empty in tailwind

Hey mike I know sprayings nearly done but I’d highly recommend a Bateman sprayer it’s European and is probably the best sprayer I’ve ever driven.
I don’t think they are sold in North America
Jaxon Eaton oh yeah silly me
They make after market cup holders, tape, hole sow and hot glue.
No cup holder near the instruments Mike that's why the cup holder is on left side.😉
