Man I farm 1200 acres, I literally tremble watching you take the time out in the field to explain things in a classroom setting. I only stop to relax when I have my crop sprayed with a 50 foot boom. Which is more than adequate for me. I also have cattle so my haying is your down time, wait you have no down time. Lol., I do have relaxation time. I’m big enough I find watching you guys.
Moo moo moo by by by h I'm

Mike that horn on the trident is epic you need those on all your tractors
I think that this probably is the most informative and educational farming channel on youtube👌🏻 Very easy and enjoyable to watch😁
One years weeds, seven years seeds.
Got to Love-It when a plan comes together! Hope you got 2. One for now, and a spare. Thanks Mike.👍
Morning good sir. Thank you for the videos
It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together. Take care
Brian’s parts pick up service is “Hot Shot” on steroids 🛫🛩🛫
Sounds like an Service, "Parts by Plane" and drop em at the customer with a little Parachute
@@SirDigger420 With the wind in SW Saskatchewan some adjustments would need to be make or parts may land in the USA 🤣💨💨😂
@@gavinperry7237 With the Wind strong enought just face it and do a STOL landing... or hand the part down..
If you could hook a trailer up to that Trident you could carry twice the amount of product, when one tank runs empty switch over to the other and keep going.
Everyone "Look at my new big ass tractor!"
Mike: "Yeah I have a parts express courier... With a plane." 🤣
Enjoy these in depth explanations
Ur awesome look forward to seeing ur videos everyday . And thanks for all ur hard work on growing food for everyone around the world to enjoy
WOW, Mike now we know your farm is big when you get your parts to deliver by planes and ride back home.🤣
Mike, with the distances you have to travel for parts the airplane is a real time saver. You just saved at least four hours that you can now be spraying a lot of acres! You take care.
Love your setup for filling the sprayers great the way it mixes. 👍
As my dad always used to say in the sprayer "let's light this candle" when we'd get read to take off
You are the best Mike Mitchell thank you for your videos
Hi mike looking forward to your videos every day they are very interested let them come every day thank you very much greeting from Denmark
Mike, thanks for interesting look over the weeds. On your spray rubbish - how about two frames with the bags on them - attached to the trailer then you have a large hole to shoot bags or plastic in?
Mike put a spinner knob on that tridents steering wheel best investment you will ever make !
Sir, thank you for the videos you share. I appreciate it. You have very nice equipment and I love that you appear to maintain it all very well. Preventative maintenance is the key! I wish I could come up and work for you. It would be swell to work on such a nice operation.
Best wishes and God Bless.
They also are easy on the equipment when operating. They keep their operating speeds down to where they don't damage things. I have seen too many people try to pull the crap out of equipment, and all they end up doing is destroying it.
Dreaming to be on a farmers job like this one day in my life, if it’s just one day 😌 I’m literally almost obsessed
Forgot to say I truly love the videos
Happy wedding anniversary for the 7th of july
Thanks!
Watching you spray as I’m spraying my screen beeps I look your screen beeps I start scratching my head hoping I don’t have a problem then I realize oh it’s just the video beeping me 😂
Thanks for the videos. Loving them.
Good Morning!
I have show Maltese Dogs, and one of my pro handlers lives in Victoria. I take my dogs to her via the Ferry from Port Angeles. Yes, these border agents are EASY to P..is OFF! You BEST have ALL your paper work and records in order, or you don't get into Canada!
I love to show my dogs in Canada. Our friends there are so warm and friendly and they really appreciate what many of us have to go through just to get into Canada!
I watch your videos every day, and I really appreciate your commentary, and what big farming is all about, and the 10's of millions that you have invested in equipment, land ownership, and rental. Also you must have a degree in computer programing and agommeny.
I was born and raised on a dry land farm Eastern Washington, ... and my grandparents homesteaded in 1909 10 miles north of Moose Jaw. They had 1600 acres. Farming is in my blood!
The very BEST WISHES, And GOD BLESS!
Gary
That’s awesome you live in Port Angeles I have a cabin on Lake Crescent and also own the biggest piece of property right by the mouth of the Elwha River on Dike Road at the end of Place Road. Love that area wouldn’t wanna live there year around but love to vacation up there. Love visiting Victoria it’s an awesome city.
@@Meowschitz Hello Neighbor!
We live about a mile south of Freshwater bay.
Still amazed how you can drive minutes at 16mph. In a field. Huge fields!
That is even louder than a deere 4830 's used to be.
Really enjoying spraying this year not doing any costom work
lot of jugs everywhere😉😉 Some big jugs and some small jugs. You know how to put the Jugs on the rinser. 😂 I am gonna die laughing
"Drain your boats"!! 😜 How far from the US border before you get to enough water to use a boat! Perhaps that warning is for Canadians who went south to a river? 🎣
Duals on sprayer just looks so good
Man you guys have an awesome system up there in sask, you guys know how to get er done, hey what's the since in driving places when you can flyyyy, awesome, thanks for sharing mike, look forward to the next video. 💪💪💪
Ok mike I mean it this time. YOU GOTTA DRIVE THE JD SPRAYER THIS YEAR! Haha 😂.
I mean mike the engine is at the front of the cab. But wit the patriot the engine is at the back. So that’s y the patriot is more quieter
old 3-ton trucks work great for boxes and jugs so they dont blow all over
18:07, but the snowmobilers love them, ha!
Nice one
That is a Big ass tank 😅👍
Extended to 2400+ gallons by MaxCap it looks like: instagram.com/p/COYLUl3H1AM/
About the same size as a HARDI Rubicon 9000 sprayer which comes stock with 2,200 gal. (9,000 ltrs). I beleive the Rubicon still has world's largest tank caacity from factory.
HARDI is now owned by EXEL who also owns other big sprayer companies like AGRIFAC and APACHE.
When you makea your duram spaghetti ,use garlic and oil not sugar laden sauce .When I had to get parts from far away I would just hire a taxi and get him to bring parts and pizza while I kept working. Taxies are cheap.
That's a fantastic Idea!
What is the mileage charge on 200 miles??
You are very very beg and best farmar in America .iam iraqan.
How cool is that to have a pilot and plane! Thats awesome!
If only your brother could have strapped a parachute on that box of parts and air dropped your supplies to you at the sprayer filling station. :D
Who said he didn't just land the plane and hand them to Mike :)
Leave the trees alone Mike. Good for the wildlife. 🙂
Flying parts in thats cool
Nice new profiel picture
Great Video, what a set up for spraying
wish list is two compactors, where the pile is. One for plastic one for cardboard.
Why don't they sell the 24d in bigger containers. It's almost like the company is trying to make more trash so they can get more breaks in the long run.
Probably has more to do with availability this year then anything. Also sometimes specific sizes jugs are cheaper to purchase on a per acre treatment
@@dfro7159 the suppliers make that price per jug higher or lower on purpose. Not all companies are dirty an evil taxes does fuel a bunch of environmental damages. A case of water is worse then a gallon jug, pallet of gallons vs a 500 gal tank ect.... An I'm not being a dick an saying he needs to change how he dose his op was just a thing I was asking myself in my head. We
They are simply so much more convenient to use no need for pumps or meters that you have to calibrate all the time. toats are also very hard to move by hand when there’s no equipment where you need it to move
@@simoncloutier58 he's got a mix mate tho what's one more line an container ect.
@@ronniewilliz153 ya but when the total runs out you need a tractor or skidsteer and another guy in the field to move them. Easier with jugs
I like your explanation though Mike.👍
You got that right about cleaning up weeds. Even tho you spray it you dont get all of them, some sprout later, some dont get burnt off and you miss some that get to seed.
Then there is nature beeing equally productive for all plants, birds and wind spread seeds and you spread the seeds with a combine at harvest. So yeah, there are allways some weeds and if not taken care of you get alot of weeds next season.
You can cultivate for weeds, but not in Mike's climate, losing too much moisture with that.
Could you give us a hanger tour sometime?
I never look out my left side when I’m spraying only the left so that railing wouldn’t bother me. I also run a Deere so the railing isn’t as obnoxious
Morning
In my back yard in the flower beds we are on 8 years in fighting weeds and finally making headway. Previous owner was terrible to the yard. What the wife wants the wife gets.
Let it go just one year and it’s back to square one.
@@junkorbust9498 yeah it has been a fight
Have you ever thought about getting a dump trailer or using some kind of trailer with a hopper on it to put all your plastic in then you can transport it back to the farm to then bag up latter that way you get it all in one place ?
Jezus that’s some machine but your right it’s noisy
Good ol organic farmers. Takes so many 💵 to get it looking “respectable “.
Good on you to do it! Honestly there’s not enough in it for me once the dust settles. Everything costs way to much these days.
Oh it's ridiculous where prices are going...
@@mikemitchell2554 I see you have the 2 track
Yeah, they all work great in the factory hey, lol!
brian is the man!
In my country, Argentina, this product (2.4D) is forbidden, as I understand it has high volatility
We can use it here in brazil
They make a low volatile version. It is less of a concern when used in large scale farming.
@@notpoliticallycorrect4774 I was investigating a little and it is as you say, there is a version that is less volatile and that is allowed, but specifically in my city, both are forbbiden, but it is not like that in other cities or towns where you can use the low volatility version
It seems that goes fast that spraying.😉
How often do you guys end up using a plane like that? Seems pretty handy
They own the plane so i assume very often, hes got some old videos on it.
"Tearing up these tree rows cause they're a pain"
Have you looked intro agroforestry ?
Why do you use jugs instead of totes? Wouldn't it be cheaper and more efficient?
Do farmers get exemption if you have land either side of the border and have to travel to work the land?
Hey Mike take the railing off🤣 just a friendly reminder 🍻
I keep forgetting! 🤦
The video was from a month ago, so the question is, has he removed it yet?
@@mikemitchell2554 Good memory, just aweful short 😂🤣
trees are a time kille and farms pull em out...; if you would pull out a row of trees over here in Belgium, on our tiny fields (and we got tons of trees), you would end up paying more then one can earn farming. different policy of governement.
That auto boom seems to do a pretty good job. Have you had any boom-ground interference events yet?
Love the video
You guys ever think of getting a length of used ships anchor Chain and dragging it behind two tractors on each side of the tree lines? Would make quick work of it and rip them out by the roots if you don’t know what I’m talking about you can look up some videos on it on RUclips I think it would work perfect for clearing those out quick. You run it one direction it should pull a bunch of them out the other ones will lay over then you just do it from the other direction and I grabbed all the ones that laid down
Just use a bulldozer and excavator, then burn them
Why do I think if Tony was just on the other side of the boarder you'd be having a boarder party or moon each other at least until boarder patrol came along without you noticing
New profile picture.... interesting hint
Hi Mike, Quick question - You have mentioned in a couple of videos taking over organic/dirty ground in the past few of years - how does the organic farmer "make it work" or make a living on dirty ground?
I have no clue... Thr fact that we keep picking up organic ground could be a sign 🤷🏻♂️
@@mikemitchell2554 Maybe the organic farmer will farm the ground until it gets to dirty with weeds then give it up.
from what i have seen here in germany its pretty much heavy mechanical weed clearing
so heavy tillage before seeding while useing cover crops and a denser population to cover the weeds faster to choke them from the sun
and before the canopy closes you often see some form of harrow in use, theire even computer controlled implants that can move independed from the tractor to just work between the rows
so pretty much all things that cant work for the ground mike is showing, especialy considering the size of the fields
here i see it only on smaller fields, all the bigger fields are conventional (bigger fields in my region are 1x1km or bigger)
just think about the man and machine houres needed for big fields without accounting for wear and erosion problems
The idea is that organic has lower input costs and higher valued crop. But they have lower yields and have a greater impact on the soil. Like Mike said, it must be losing its appeal if people are getting out of it. Generally it is the older traditional type farmers that are organic, so it might be that they are getting to the age to retire, and sell out, even if they were profitable.
Mikes new prof pic 👀
At 15:47, you can see a big ring around the sun, and there are high cirrus clouds. whenever you see that, you can almost for certain bet that it is going to rain within 24-48hrs. you can almost set your watch to it. I dont know if bad to spray before a rain or how long it is ok to spray before a rain, but i do know, it is going to rain within 48hrs after this vid was taken.
Most modern herbicides only need a couple of hours before a rain.
I sure hope you wear your seatbelt. I’ve gotten to the point I wear mine all the time, even in the field.
Every day in the sprayer
For you guys that use so many jugs, do you like the size or should they be bigger?
Quite the hydraulic whine... Is it as loud for you as it is for us watching.
Mike, that's a seeding question, why is it that you don't use disk drills for seeding, instead of the hoe drills ??? much less soil disturbance with disk drill.
We did for 2yrs.. Set us back to the stone ages.. Didn't work in our soils
@@mikemitchell2554 okay, makes sense, different soil, different procedures, we can't use anything but disk here
New Holland has a special tree mulcher that just destroys cara Ganna hedges.
That would be an awesome demo if one of those machines could be located
they don't have no trees to mulch. only trees are planted trees.
Mike I got a question. Welkers are demoing a Trident and they never said anything about 25 mph loaded. Is that taken off of the new ones
There's would be the newer version, and I think they upgraded that - Case did.. I do believe 🤷🏻♂️
When will you run the deere sprayer? I'd like to see a run through of it
I can't.. It's not my sprayer it my older brother.. And he hates RUclips 🤣🤷🏻♂️
But I have ran then before and they are nice!
you cant get 2,4-D in 55gal plastic drums or 250gal totes? if anything..less packaging waste and less time opening bottles..
Geez, The numbers for your farm are probably hard to comprehend. For instance, I wonder how much fuel it takes to operate for a year! Or, how much your chemical costs are? Just thinking about it makes me kinda nervous.
he said that the chemicals are between 10 to 30 Dollars per acre thats like 400000 to 1,2 mio Dollars just in chemicals
Same cost per acre across the board as smaller farms. Just multiply by the number of acres.
@@bahnsteigkantee5937 That is just for the in crop weed control. They likely average 3 sprayer passes per field per year, and more if they have disease pressure in the pulses.
Don't you have a problem with those jugpiles beeing blown away by those crazy winds you always have?
Yes! Sometimes, but we do try get get them cleaned up right away
Mike, why not go to bulk totes for liquid herbicide? Less packaging and would it be cheaper per gallon?
It's not cheaper no.. The biggest incsm get is 115L barrels and then I still have to add jugs.. So it doesn't make sense for us
Do you know how many years that field was organically farmed? Seems like their weeds were getting out of control with that system.
So awesome! How many farmers have their own airline?
what's the fastest speed you spraying? with the land that nice, i would be going at 20!!! my land has lots hills and bushes and i can even do 12-15 mph, maybe i am going too fast?
mike do uyou have herbicide resistant weeds ,we do here in the uk , and do not have many ways of dealing with them now so you either have to min till or plough
Are the jug items come in totes, or are your usages to small that wouuld have too much chemical left over at end season?
what kind of grease you use
Hello Mike case 555 💪👍😜🇮🇹
Self identifies that's pretty funny. Powers that be dont like that :)
what in the shipping container at 5:33
Mike does running over the crops not damage them or are they still short enough that that isn’t the case
I see on other comments that the modified tank may be 2400 gal. Doesn’t that make his warranty about as worthless as used toilet paper?
Bruh that thing looks like one of those photo shopped scam thumb nails. Lol.
Haha but everyone knows I don't do that, so think about how crazy this thing is! Haha
The shot in the beginning (0:01) made me realize how huge that thing is.
How stable is that sprayer at 40 mph? With most of the weight so high, it looks like a disaster in the making, at 40 mph. Yes, I know the wheelbase is wide, but still ...?
