Just a testimony as to how good the 'Oldie but Goodies' really were and still are... Where's Chuck Berry when you really want to take things up a notch... Well the Rolling Stones always kept the beat going... They made it look so easy to be a solid talented band with jiving tunes to go around...

Only kinda sad thing is these performers - whose songs weren't even 20 years old then - were considered "oldies" acts and couldn't get played anymore on radio except "oldies" stations. Imagine today if Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera were considered old has-beens who could only be seen in 'oldies' performances.

I don't ever remember seeing this one before. I thought that I had seen them from before from the 70's. It only took 50 years for me to finally see this one. I remember a resurgence of 50's music back then. We had 50's days at my highschool sock hop. I remember a movie that promoted the 1950's. And then Happy Days. My Dad helped me with 50's day at the highschool sock hop. He taught me how to dress during that current style. It's strange that he was doing the same as I was just 20 years before then.

My tiny brain immediately assumed it was Jerry Lewis, the comedian. Begged my parents to let me stay up to see him in person but no deal. I was soooo relieved AT THE TIME to find out it was this other guy with a similar name. Guess who it was.

Great show! Seeing these Midnight Special Re-runs bring back many good memories. The best music variety show ever on TV. All live and no lip-synching that I was ever aware of. Would like to see a modern version show up but...there would be little talent to feature on it.

Another joyful Saturday morning thanks to Burt’s generosity. Another exceptional and enjoyable MS full episode has arrived. Thank you for putting a smile on my face and joy in my heart.

It's great seeing Bobby Day. I don't think most people know how many hits he was responsible for under his own name and for others. Freddie Cannon was also cool outside the Romper Room outfit.

Great show! Many songs took me back to hearing them in my childhood (some as "oldies" then from the 50s). Really enjoyed it! Thanks, TMS!

It's a rare thing when you come across any videos where Jerry Lee Lewis is totally sobered but when you do you really got something.
