Driving through Tallahassee... My friend never heard of the song...( he's driving) so I did a RUclips search on my I phone, and we rocked out to this on I-10! And Andy Kauffman on the bongos! Who knew! :-))
The SAME H.S. that late Colin Powell, Sonya Sotomayor, Milton Berle and Arthur Murray attended. Morris is the OLDEST H.S. in Da Bronx, N.Y Built in 1897.They had a full size pipe organ made of Bronze ( Brass.) Took 3 buses EACH WAY( 6 a day)For **4 ** YEARS.
I remember going to Palisades Amusement park in N.J. every chance we had. None of us were old enough to drive yet. It took about an hour or so to catch buses there and back. That was from '59-'61 while in H.S
Freddie "Boom Boom" Cannon was born on December 4, 1936, therefore he is celebrating his 85th birthday today December 4, 2021. He is an American rock and roll singer, whose biggest international hits included "Tallahassee Lassie", "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans", and "Palisades Park"
FUNNY...everything becomes a classic someday....even that pud lamo from saturday night....but what a kool combo, and I believe andy listened to freddie, and chuck, and del in his room like me!!!
Freddy, who I've met several times, is a great guy. Calling Freddy a '50s artist is a bit misleading because only the first three of his 29 1959-81 hits were released during that decade. "Palisades Park," "Where The Action Is," "The Dedication Song," "If You Were A Rock 'n' Roll Record," "Let's Put The Fun Back In Rock 'n' Roll," etc. were all released later (primarily in the '60s).
Freddy and Andy jamming, that's a little R,&R history. She dances to the Stroll! Love it.
I love Freddie….one of my favourite songs
Great Song that I think holds up today .Great drum line

I used to think he was saying Tallahassee lassie down in East LA. But heard it right down in FLA. Makes sense the other way sure didn't🤣
Is that Andy Kaufman
conga drum Kaufman...well alright!
Dedicate this one to, Lynn, from FLA
Freddie still had it going and sounded good. He was a rocker, not a crooner. I just wish the guitar had sounded a bit better.
In the face Freddie looks like a younger Ronnie James Dio
lol, he also sounds a little like ace frehley from kiss lol
and freddie's not in the rock and roll hall of fame. tragic
ANDY!!!!
You must be from Memphis, TN.
