      @@KittyGrizGrizFor some reason I was thinking of Bell's Amusement park. Do you remember the Phantasmagoria ride? We used to get out of the cars and walk around, we would swap seats, it was a blast!😂

    • @KittyGrizGriz
      @KittyGrizGriz 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@robmatlock7675 Yes! I loved that ride too! Always wanted to get in the part of seat closest to the inside of the wheel so I wouldn’t get squished. Remember the ride operator asking “Do you want to go faster??!” 📢 over the loudspeaker, in a crazy laughing voice with “Wipe Out” song in the background.
      “Zingo” the wooden🎢 was my favorite as well as the “Round Up”, the big wheel where everyone is standing up in separate compartments and facing each other. The g force would make you climb up higher as it spun. The “Bullet” ride too. Have you been to Elitch Gardens in Denver? On a summer vacation driving back to Tulsa from WY, where I had flown out earlier to stay with grandma-girl cousins at age 14, me/parents visited & I rode the roller coaster by myself. We are “thrill seekers” haha, thanks for the memories reminder.

      Who says one cannot incorporate rock and funk has not heard of Frankenstein by Edgar Winter.

    The next one from the following year sounds interesting. The episode for January 11, 1974 was hosted by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, and also features appearances from Canned Heat, El Chicano, Jo Jo Gunne, Leo Sayer, The Spinners, and Livingstone Taylor.

    Yes yes yes I remember this episode like it was yesterday. I was 14 and wanted to watch Midnight Special just bc the Spinners were on it and I think i was trying to record it on my radio cassette player, and i think i got it just b4 the tape ran out. I was crazy about "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love " when it was released in '72 and still love it to this day.
    Though the guys may have left this earthly sphere, their music will last always in our hearts. Rest well fellas. You were definitely 'one of a kind ' who gave us a 'mighty love'of your musicianship.

    I could listen to Gladys all day. You could tune into this show every weekend and listen to real music. Plus your parents hated it which made it even better.
