- When I was a kid, one of the main things that drew me to professional wrestling were the championship belts. The gold and nickel plates, the black and brown leather, goodness me. I wanted my own championship belts, I dreamed of raising the gold above my head in a sold out area. Don't we all? Yep. But when it was held by Macho Man (even when he, litteraly, took the shine off of it) is when it meant the most....with a black strap.
Winged Eagle will always be my favourite... and not for nostalgic reasons, it was largely before my time, I just think it looks incredible. The bigger Attitude Era version is great too.

We definitely have very similar tastes. I love all these belts (with the exception of 1) and my all time favorite belt is actually the WCW United States Championship .
The WCW US is so, so nice. I had to use it in the thumb. =)
The belts I love most when I was growing up that are not on your list are:
The NWA National Heavyweight Championship belt with the red/white/blue strap-late 70's and early 80's from Georgia Championship Wrestling
The GCW TV Title belt with multicolored face plate and flags of other countries on side plates. Early 80's from GCW
The NWA United States Heavyweight Championship belt-Mid Atlantic and JCP silver version in early to mid 80's
The NWA World Television Heavyweight Championship belt-red and silver JCP in the mid 80's
Mid South North American Heavyweight Championship belt-early to mid 80's version

The National Title was one of my favorite belts.
The Nat’l TV title is the tv belt you described (the center plate had World Championship Wrestling logo on it) I also liked the Southeastern tittle from Knoxville. It was red white and blue strap but the center plate was more square shaped as I recall

As a middle schooler, the 2011 united states championship was my favorite, for the reason that the title is often associated with The Miz

I used to think it was that IC belt was ugly,But then I found one on sale,so I bought it,and it was much nicer in real life,So then I loved it (Still not as much as the Shawn Razor IC title but still decent)
I've always felt it cheapens the value of a title when companies change the design. Like when Michael Cole is on commentary saying "This is the title that hall of famers like Bret Hart, Ric Flair, etc have held!" No it's not ya dope, they held the old designs!
Interesting point. That's one of the reasons I love the WCW and NWA world titles so much. They (almost) never changed!

I fully agree with the AEW title, it looks prestigious and important, just how a promotions flagship title should look.
with regards to the new UFC look however 😐, I think that's one that will have to grow on me, at least it's shed that slightly goofy look of the previous one.
I've always had a soft spot for the million dollar title, I know, I know, it hasn't aged as well but it's still a stand out belt.

I love belt designs and I spend a lot of time designing my own in the WWE games. I really love the IWGP belt, it looks chunky and like it could KO someone, though it is too pretty to use for that IMO. I think my favourite belt is the attitude era WWF belt, I missed it and kind of wish we could have had it stick around while also still getting the undisputed design.
Yea, the Big Eagle was an awesome design. Shame it only had a 4 year run.

I have the US Title
As much as I love the OG WCW big gold, my personal #1 is still the WWF big eagle belt. Seeing that design retired broke my heart.
The Big Eagle is definitely legendary.
Keep in mind I started watching wrestling right after WCW was bought. My favorite belts:

The AWA belt from the 70s and 80s (mainly a Bockwinkel belt) was always one of my favs. Big, simple, and oh so glorious!
Agreed with your no.1 “big gold” is my absolute favorite! As a kid anytime I made a belt out of cardboard for my backyard federations the main title was always modeled after big gold! I won’t go into my top 10, but a very close 2nd of mine would be the white strap wwe intercontinental title!

Modern era forgets that at one time professional wrestling wasn't "sports entertainment." The AWA belt and big gold were made to look as prestigious as a boxing title.
The IWGP belt is top notch! I’ve always loved the combo of both gold and silver (or white gold) on a design 🤘🏻🤘🏻

10. WWF Hardcore Championship; the zaniest, most batshit belt. I also really loved the custom variations brought in by Tommy Dreamer and Bradshaw.
9. NWA-TNA X-Division Championship; that original X-Division belt was so classy and so cool looking.
8. 1980-1985 NWA National Television Championship; this was a very colorful but very short-lived design used by Georgia Championship Wrestling, and used the same plate and belt shape as the NWA World title of the time.

6. WCW United States Championship
5. AWA World's Heavyweight Championship; the same design you praised in this video.
4. 1972-1981 WWWF World Heavyweight Championship; for mainly two reasons: 1). This was Bruno's belt, and 2). It remains one of the only belts in history to have a side plate representing the Mother-country - Italy. The good hands people at FanduBelts have produced a replica of this bad boy, and one day, I will have this glorious bastard in my house.
3. 1986 WWF Heavyweight Championship; the strap Hogan walked into the Pontiac Silverdome with for his legendary WM3 encounter with Andre The Giant. That belt is absolutely gorgeous and it pains me that it didn't have a longer run than it did.
2. 1973-1986/1995-Current NWA/NWA-TNA World's Heavyweight Championship; the belt of all belts. Like yourself, I have one in my home in a place of honor, and its strap is adorned with signatures from 8 former champions that I've met at various conventions, with more hopefully on the way.
1. 1985-1992/2019-Current NWA World Television Championship (this design was also used by the WWF for Hogan's '84-'85 World Heavyweight belts). I don't know what it is, but damn I love this design.
the winged eagle and IC belt that was used up until early '98 are my favorite and ironically my all-time favorite wrestler (stone cold steve austin) got to keep both the original belts once they switched designs

I like the WCW Cruiserweight Championship is my favorite. The ridges on the plate made it stand out and the overall design was very creative.

Going solely on visual appeal, my favorites are (in no particular order) the Reggie IC, WCW US, Hogan 86, Big Eagle, IWGP 3rd, IWGP 4th, IWGP IC, NWA National 2012 (with the shield), WCW Cruiserweight Tag, and Jay Lethal's custom yellow RoH TV belt that just said "Champion" while he chased the world title.

Pro Wrestling & Video Game Fan 486 the winged eagles championship was the title Austin won at Mania before it was switched to The Attitude Era Championship. That’s the belt I meant.

Growing up, my family owned a restaurant. I would be stuck there all day in the summer while my family worked. I would go into the storage room in the basement and take everything out of a cardboard box and cut out my own title belts. I had matching tag team titles and a sweet heavyweight title. Great video, brought up some positive memories.

I know just how you feel! When I was a kid, I would spend hours upon hours just looking at the different kinds championship belts, wishing I could own them. When I would play Smackdown and Smackdown 2 KYR, I would just stare the belts while listening to the ambient music. Good times. My favorite of all time is the WWE Undisputed Championship. Other favorites of mine which I miss dearly is WWE Light Heavyweight Championship, the WWE European Championship and probably the one I miss most of all, the WWE Hardcore Championship! Watching people pummel each other with weapons for a broken looking belt was always entertaining to watch!

When Tito Santana showed off the Intercontinental Championship after Greg Valentine destroyed the green strap,,, that was the first belt I fell in love with.

The European championship has always been my one of my favorite belt designs. Nobody else seems to enjoy it as much and I don't understand why
I barely watched TNA back then, but I've always loved that TNA belt and i have it in my top 5. Having Christian retire it was pretty cool

Also, I always liked the WWF European Championship. It was appropriately sized and had various colors and patterns on it but wasnt too 'busy'. It appeared to be modeled after the NWA ten pounds of gold belt.
AJPW Triple Crown Championship. The 3 belts was nice, but I love the way they combined them to make one great looking belt.

I might be the only one to say this but my ALL TIME #1 is the big green belt. I think it is perfect. It was the title that got me into wrestling.
80s IC title and the winged eagle world title were the best....why were they not on this list, those belts were epic
Current IC belt looks great. Undisputed was ugly but not as ugly as the Cena belt. Loved it at first, as I'm black and love that it represented old school hip-hop culture and the big dookie gold chains. It got old fast and didn't fit any other person wearing it. They probably just sold a ton.

Pretty good list. Glad to see someone else loves the WCW United States Championship. I feel like everyone hates that belt but I've always loved it. Another midcard belt I love but no one ever talks about is the Attitude Era Intercontinental belt. I always thought that belt kicked ass. Guess I just love late 90's midcard belts. And yes the big gold belt is the best ever.
Some of my other favorites are NWA Television Championship (bro the TV network logos on the sideplates, perfection), WCW Television Championship, basically all the IWGP belts but specifically the United States Championship, AEW Heavyweight Championship, WWE Undisputed, WWF European Championship, NWA World Heavyweight, Ron Simmons WCW Heavyweight Championship, and low key the King Mabel King of the Ring Champion Belt. That thing was badass.
That King Of The Ring belt was fuckin crazy, lol. You've got some really cool picks here. And yea, the WCW '93 (Vader, Simmons, Sting) is really beautiful.

My favorite title will always be the IWGP 3rd world title. That is the most beautiful looking belt ever made.
I always liked Bockwinkel's AWA World Title strap. That will always be my favorite AWA strap. The current AML Heavyweight & the classic Mid South Heavyweight Championship straps are cool as well. My favorite belt of all time is the Lucha Underground Heavyweight Championship. Simply gorgeous. The original big gold rules. Flairs big gold, with the reddish/brown strap
Flair's BG with the reddish brown strap is the same one that always ran, man. It just stained and lost luster over the years.
The Classic Intercontinental and the the modern one Cody bought back is probably my favorite belt. It just looks so brilliant and while I don't hate the recent one they made I definitely don't prefer it. Also the Undisputed Belt's short run is an absolute tragedy.

I might be the odd ball and say that the intercontinental championship that was used in the attitude era was one of my favorite.
I've always been a big fan of belts myself. My favorites are 1: The NWA US title (mid 80s-early 90's version) 2: WWF IC title (Mid 80s-late 90s version) 3: The WWF "Hogan '86" world title 4: NWA TV title (Mid '80s red strapped) 5: NWA "Big Gold Belt" 6: NWA tag titles (Late '80s design). 7: AWA world title (Early-mid '80s design) 8: WWF tag titles ( Mid '80s-early '00s version's) 9: UWF tag titles 10: AWA tag titles (Mid '80s-early '90s versions). The 2010-2017 TNA World Heavyweight Championship rocks. And that title has been through worse, even without the Immortal Design.
I love the old school Intercontinental title belt that Randy Savage never wore when I started watching wrestling. I'm also a huge fan of the NWA United States title belt that Magnum TA and Lex Luger and Nikita Koloff were battling for in the 80's.

The WCW World Heavyweight Championship was originally The NWA International Heavyweight Championship. Merged with the WCW Heavyweight Championship when Ric Flair lost to Sting before heading to the WWF the first time.

I love the winged eagle belt personally. It takes me back to the old days as a kid when l was a fanatical Ultimate Warrior fan... I worked an indy promotion about 15 years ago where they made me their U.S. Champion. Which was the wcw version with our company's mail box letters covering the wcw logo lol so the wcw U.S. Title would be probably my 3rd favorite second only to big gold. Man l too could talk championships all day lol. New subscriber here and look forward to more videos like this. Cheers!
Winged Eagle is a great design for sure.
I used to fawn over championships in high school (hasn't really changed) but I remember in my digital designs class photo shopping championships on me and my friends. I used to love the WCW Cruiser Weight Championship, the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship (I know people say it is too plain but it looked classic, a throwback). I absolutely adored the European Championship. However the belts that I wanted to own were the WCW US Championship, Smoking Skull Belt, and the Classic Intercontinental Championship with the black strap I never dreamed as kid about being World Champion, I always wanted the IC Title.

We're almost identical.
The Undisputed Title Belt is lovely.
Not many people mention it, but it was the last WWF belt and Hogan held it over the transition between WWF to WWE.
I'm not a massive Hogan mark (I loved him as a kid) and I know he wasn't the very first WWF champ... but it's a kinda cool bookend (not Booker T's finish)

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I watched this video, but we have extremely similar taste in championship belts. The WCW U.S. title is the first belt I ever wished I could hold as a kid, and the WCW world title was my favorite belt until Hollywood Hogan both single handedly hogged the strap into obscurity, and ruined my love for WCW when he didn't put Sting over proper at Starrcade 1997.
The only variation in my list would be the intercontinental championship held by the likes of Bret Hart and heel Shawn Michaels replacing the AWA title, but that is purely subjective.

Top Rope Belts makes a custom United States championship that I think is one of the coolest looking belts in a very long time. You'd know it if you've seen it online. For awhile, it's the one that showed up everywhere, being rumored to be the TNA US belt.

Though my favorite is always going to be the "winged eagle" specifically because a few years back I played an egotistical heel in a since deleted RUclips series where I taped a picture of my face on a winged eagle kids toy and called myself the champion
