- R&B group Jagged Edge could’ve gotten lost in the abyss of other groups that looked and sounded very similar to them in the ‘90s. But they managed to carve out their own path right from the start and went on to achieve incredible success into the early 2000s.

It’s unusual for a group like this to stick with all original members for such a long time.
Ladies, once a man hits you, he'll do it again and again and again. Had a huge crush on the twins back then and was grateful to see them at a Coconuts music store signing autographs for their album in the early 2000s,they were real cool, got to shake all of their hands too.
The same advice should be applied to women who hit men for no reason.

What’s unfortunate with the musical climate today is that there are no record companies that want to invest their time and energy into developing and maintaining a black boy/girl group. The last boy group I remember being into was Mindless Behavior (and that didn’t last either). As far as girl groups there is FLO (British girl group). It’s sad..

Thanks for this. One drawback with their promotion is that they weren't marketed correctly. It wasn't decided if they were a rap group,r&b or all of the above because of their presentation. It was such a mixture of how they were presented and that wasn't conducive, looking back. I'm in my 30s now and definitely remember being perplexed as how to take it when I was younger.

Jagged Edge is one of my favorite groups.
I got to see jagged edge VS 112 it was amazing didn't want either group to get off stage Kyle was not there.
In the first shot where their outfits are highlighted in red, Brian is actually Brandon & Brandon is actually Brian. Brandon is the slightly ‘thicker’ twin.

Jagged Edge had a production deal thru Jermaine Dupri label. Jermaine Dupri got dropped from Columbia so their production deal fell thru. So Anjel just disbanded/went their own way.

Quite a story on how they came together! They have quite the crazy history together! I remember why Kyle from the group was missing! It's very sad and unfortunate at the time! Another great story! You had just a bit more info than their original Unsung episode revealed. Same ole story....very messy and tragic even even while riding high on chart success. I much prefer their older music anyway and can listen to on repeat all day. When they felt they just HAD to ride the auto tune train, I just couldn't. It's cool they are still sharing their talents though.

Bruh we damaging kitchen fans?!?!? He needs to stop drinking because from the stories I've heard once they get a little liquor in them they don't know how to control their emotions. JE had a reputation back in the day for destroying offices among other things. I can understand him being upset about his father's situation (I think in Unsung he said his father died) but to do all of that and then later on do some more is not okay. Money probably played a role in her staying as well as the love she has for him but love doesn't hurt in that manner.

Dang Kandi is in a lot of drama. That’s crazy and I think that’s messed up how Matthew messed up Jagged Edge tour like that but it’s good that they still going and didn’t go thru the member change like so many other groups
One thing I never understood about Jagged Edge was how WHERE THE PARTY AT was such a banger and yet that album era itself went nowhere. Then their follow-up album HARD two years later was a distant memory. I dont think WALK OUTTA HEAVEN even did that well as a first single.
So So Def switched labels. Plus, Columbia had been angling to sign Jagged Edge outright for years.
Poor Promotion or lack of support from the label.
