- In 1990, 3 young kids came together in Los Angeles, California to pursue their dreams of rock and roll stardom. They didn’t come together on their own though. Chris Stokes, an enterprising songwriter and producer from L.A., had started auditioning local youngsters for a singing group he’d envisioned. He wanted a group that would combine the hip-hop harmony of Boyz II Men with the innocence of the early New Edition. That R&B boy band named Immature, consisting of Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half-Pint" Santos, would burst onto the music scene 2 years later with their debut album before any of the members had even reached their teens.

There performance was great but it wasn't the best tho. The best was when the Sisters and there friend was in college doing a talent show or open mic night and the 3 of them did that Supremes song. I've looked high and low for that version of the full song. Still can't find it almost 20yrs later.

We all loved her and wanted to be like her back then. It's just interesting to see what was actually going on behind the scenes and how well it was covered up. She grew out of it thankfully but it's still part of her story 🤷🏾♀️
@@christopherdieudonne It wasn't quite a hit and run but yes, one of the victims she ran into on the freeway died. The victim's family ended up suing her if I remember correctly. I think that situation was a huge reality check for her.

I was watching Bebe’s Kids last month since RUclips had the movie uploaded and I love the Intro song Immature sung “Tear it up”. 🔥
My best friend and I were obsessed with them. I know them because of her (God rest her soul). I got to meet Marques and Kelton back in 2004 when the MH album came out and he was doing promo tours for it. They were both so nice and took pictures with me and chatted for a while. I also saw MH on the Scream Tour. Those were the days lol.

When I tell you I was in LOVE with them and you couldn't tell me that I wasn't gonna be Mrs. Marques Barrett Houston lol! I had so many of their posters on my wall, you almost couldn't see the original paint. But after all thos stuff w/ Marques, I'm glad I grew out of that phase 😂. You also forgot about the singer Quindon Tarver (who recently passed in a car accident) who was also signed to Chris Stokes, claiming the same thing Raz B did smh

I just read about that and the saddest thing about the whole situation is that Chris stokes is Raz B's cousin hos mother entrusted and left Raz B in his custody with guardianship.
Tarver wouldn't reveal who raped him he just said they being Marques Houston & Chris Stokes. Tarver & Raz B got together and put the pieces together. Tarver I believe told his family, but not to the public till he got older Raz B told right away. I BELIEVE them with all of the Alumninatti mess, and Marques turns around and marries a 19 year old and he is 19 years older then the girl come on he ain't no better then R Kelly . SMFH
People also need to remember that Marques Houston ain't exactly innocent too. Raz B and Quindon Tarver was saying that Marques was doing the SAME sick sh*** Chris Stokes was doing...

This was my group.. I literally grew up with them lol. we got it album was on replay.. we knew the whole album backwards and forward that was the summer album for us.. memories.. keep more episodes coming.

They were drugging bands and having them sign faulty contracts they couldn't get out of that was in the 50s and predators like Barry Gordy and Clive Davis were around back then too this didn't start in the 90s the industry has been this way. It's crazy how some of us will delude ourselves into thinking something just started happening out of nowhere the practice has been under our nose we just aren't in those circles but Hollywood is full of weirdos.

I think there’s more to Half-Pint’s side of things. Stokes probably tried him and Half-Pint told his parents. They pulled him from the group and most likely signed a gag order-one similar to Aaliyah’s when her “alleged” marriage was annulled. That’s just my theory. The suggestive dialogue and stripper scene in “House Party 3”could’ve also been contributing factors.
